  1. Sounds good MonkeyBoy! I've been looking for another option, the guys that have tried the thumb extenders didn't like them and a twist for me is a death wish, would like to see some pics and hear how it works out.
  2. Another week for the Xbox version, WTF!!?! The big question is, does it have a Banshee?
  3. Never been to Arizona? I love it over there, and this is a good time to go heh, way better than mid-July (you have no perception of what "hot" really is until you've been to Arizona in the summertime, think blast furnace). I'll ask him about rentals this weekend and where else to check out whilst you're there. Last time I was in Flagstaff I saw some grand canyon ATV tours that looked pretty damn cool, the brochure was sporting a couple on one of those tandem-seat Bombardiers...
  4. LMAO Stan!!! OMG I am so gonna use "tornado magnet" hahahaha!!!!! Damn Jen that sucks, and just eerie that it happened on the same day. Better than a total loss and good to hear nobody was hurt, but I'm sure it's still tough to lose the things that can't be replaced. Mental note; camcorder batteries are evil
  5. I'd start in the Beginner or Novice class, some places have First-Year Racer or whatever but there are also some that will throw you in Open C (because you're on a Banshee), just kind of depends on who's putting on the race. Anyway, for your first race I would enter the lowest class you can, you can always move up if you're better than everyone else, but if you enter too high of a class at first it's easy to get discouraged and quit. Racin' is a whole different ball game than trail riding, there's nothing else like it, it's a blast and I think everyone should give it a shot (especially if ya think you're fast hehehe). You'll need to call around and find out when & where the races are, and what the requirements are. Chances are you will need spark arrestors but ask first. At the very least you'll need numbers & plates, and want to make sure your ride is bulletproof and maintained. Once you hit a couple races and talk to the other racers you'll see where your quad needs improvement (skid plates, tire selection, suspension, gearing, etc.). Being 17 you might not need the physical conditioning that the older guys do, but it doesn't hurt to be in the best shape ya can. Anyway run a search, I think Meat posted some stuff about PA Harescrambles and you should be able to find info about 'em elsewhere on the web. Good luck!!!
  6. When you goin' Holyman? I got a buddy that lives in Casa Grande, just between Tucson and Phoenix, I'm headed over there the weekend of April 9/10 for his funeral, err wedding. I can ask him if he knows of any tho...
  7. Yeah John it's pretty crazy watchin' a house go up in flames, it's like a car wreck or something that you can't help watching in morbid curiousity even when there's a knot in the pit of yer stomach. I've seen one and it's amazing how fast they go up, and from what I hear a mobile home is gone in a matter of minutes. My ex works for the FD here and firefighters are some good guys, whenever there's a loss of life it hits the whole dept pretty hard. Anyway, good to hear that nasty white shit's gone there, gonna hafta do some ridin' myself!
  8. Right on!! Just got mine last night, scoped it real quick for Banshees haha (check out the ice racers), hafta read it a little closer later on.
  9. Whoa whoa whoa, let's take a step back and put things in perspective here guys... Before anybody goes off the deep end, think about why you came here in the first place, and what made ya keep coming back...no matter how you slice it, it's the people that were here, the ones you could immediately identify with and if nothing else all tied to a common interest. Some of us got to be good friends, didn't that make it worth it in the long run? Everybody brings something to the table here that posts something, and chances are for every person that posts there's 10 that just read 'em. Yeah the HQ has grown and yeah there's a few bad apples in every bunch, but that's life for ya. Don't tell me you didn't have some laughs, feel the pain of someone's wreck/blown motor, or the satisfaction of helping out someone in need. Does a simple disagreement really outweigh everything else? I'm not telling anyone what they should do, just asking that you stop and think about it and decide for yourself. Hell I haven't been posting much lately either, been busy as fuck with other shit, but no matter what I know I can count on the HQ and hearing about my buds, old and new. Like Wheatchex said (BTW good to hear from ya dude, how the hell have you been?) nobody's gotta answer every post or even read 'em all (who has that much time on their hands anyway?!!), but like it or not there's guys that do appreciate the help, do respect those that deserve it, and are happy to see a post even if it's just to hear yer still kickin'. Do what you want, but I still say we just need to RIDE, fuck it
  10. Haha good to hear you're still kickin' tithead, sounds like the ordeal's got a happy ending so that's what counts...do wanna see some pics of that red & black YFZ when she shows up
  11. That's insane!! I'd be going postal on those fucks, prolly a good thing you're seeking legal action and insurance compensation instead, but goddamn torching the Banshee and almost getting blown away would drive me right over the fucking edge. Best of luck man, glad you made it out alive, here's hoping you get a new bike and then some...
  12. Here's muh first draft, go ahead laugh it up haha (yes the halter top was an afterthought lol):
  13. Looks great, somebody did a whole lotta work on it so far and they did it well. Fireplace looks awesome and I'm diggin' the loft, it's got a little deck off the second floor doesn't it? Cool.
  14. LOL! I'd prolly have a tough time decidin' myself (of course I wouldn't give up my Bansh but if I was buyin' a second one it would be a hard choice between those two). Now if only I could find a woman that wanted either one
  15. I'm planning on going with straight RZ gearing and see how it works, but would be interested in hearing about mixing and matching if anyone else has done it...
  16. And it doesn't look like it's got the coolant bypass line either, hmmm. If it is a Tony Doukas head, that's TDR Racing in Florida, their website is http://www.bansheesuperstore.com, well if you emailed them already I guess you found it, but they should be able to help you out. Personally I wouldn't run it without knowing the dome size/compression ratio, and appropriate fuel...
  17. I agree with everyone else, if it's ONLY side-to-side play, tighten the axle nuts. If there's any radial or up/down movement, the axle bearings are prolly toast (get it on a centerstand and move the rear tires). Good luck.
  18. You said dunes...that alone would be enough for me to say "Banshee!!", but honestly you probably couldn't go wrong with either one. There's pros and cons either way, like y2kbanshee9187 said ride them both if you can and see what suits you best. Having a Blaster you should know what it takes to keep a 2-stroke alive, and how easy they are to mod, the Honda's a solid machine that will take alot more abuse & neglect, but chances are it'll never give you the adrenaline rush that a Banshee can...
  19. Denny don't beat yourself up about it man. I read it, seemed to hit a nerve with him but honestly I don't think you said anything wrong. I'm no psychiatrist and I'm not gonna make excuses for anyone, but I consider both of you good friends and we're all only human...shit happens and sometimes friends get crossways, it's not the end of the world. I'd venture to guess that Walter's been under alot of stress, and with no Roostfestin' this year it's that much worse. I just hope he's doin' allright and there's no bad blood between ya's. Fuck group hug, we just need to RIDE. 6th gear pinned and a wall of roost on your buddies has a wierd way of puttin' things in perspective: petty disagreements and the rest of life's stress get driven under and left out on the wayside where they belong...
  20. I'm in, gimme a couple days. Led where you at?!
  21. Dammit, day late like usual but have a good one Red Ore!!
  22. Cartoon was what I was thinkin', like uhh Team Bolt-Ons comes to mind, but yeah not an actual model, more along the lines of the pinup girl artwork (Nagel, etc.). I'm in tho.
  23. Ok got the email, need your email addy. Damn, $1710 for "full qualification test"...
  24. Dealerships suck!
  25. Ok I called around, talked to Ralph Gonzales with the San Dimas Technology & Deveopment Center in CA, his # is 909-599-1267, extension 212. Apparently they do the testing & approval of spark arrestors for USFS. He's gonna email me a pdf file that outlines the application procedure & fees. When I get it I'll forward it to ya. Ya need a cool decal. This is ridiculously rough, best I could scrounge up but what I had in mind was a pinup girl ridin' a rocket (alot like WWII era bomber nose art if you've ever seen it), anyway I can sketch a better one and build a finished product if it's somethin' you're interested in...
