  1. ya that is pretty lean. especially for winter temps. if you have the 2 into 1 airfilter with no airbox i would say you could jump to a 300 and do some plug chops from there. while your at it you could bump your oilot to a 27.5 and clean carbs thoroughly and adjust air screws like misspelled said
  2. wow sounds like you got robbed. first thing i would do if you havent already is put in new plugs. then i would take the carbs off and clean them thoroughly making sure jets and all orifices are cleaned out. then when you put the carbs back on you need to make sure both slides are coming up at the same time when you push the throttle (looking into rear of carbs with airbox off.) if it still has tors you should unhook it as well (do a search to find out how). if it still does it after all that you can try switching the plug wires to see if it changes sides to check the plug caps. if your bike isnt ported then the jetting change they made should be ok but if it is ported and done right you could be too lean. syncing the slides is probably what you need to do the most do a search if you have any more questions on how to do it.
  3. waiting for spring

  4. hahahaha. yeah whats up elka just a few weeks ago you were on a mission for some paul turners, what happened there?
  5. someone also sells the wal mart fog lights on ebay for like 30 bucks....the ones you can get at any wal mart for 15 bucks. i guess it saves on the daunting task of finding a wal mart store nearby...
  6. lol ya, makes it a pain when it doesnt show up on a leakdown test. i guess my tester seals inside the boots better than the carbs
  7. im down for sure. i was thinking about starting a thread for around the same time. glad you beat me to it.

    Super Bowl

i live in indy but im a panthers fan. everyone around here is all over the colts nuts (since they've been winning of course) and it drives me crazy. but with that said i still have a lot of respect for them and especially for manning. i cant believe people are saying they dont like manning but talking about how great favre is. favre has become such a soap opera and i think he loves it. he has always been a decent qb but he cant lead a team like manning can. when favre is on a bad team he throws 5 ints a game and loses. the colts have a mediocre team at best but they know how to win and they have an amazing qb. they have no big names on defense (maybe freeney) but they still stop teams good enough to win. the saints offense either scores every time they have the ball or punts every time (like the second half of the min game) they are too inconsistent imo. if the colts turn the ball over they could get beat but i dont think they will
  9. tried some 55 pilots i had and made no difference. so i swapped out my intakes and that was it! coming back down to idle pretty well now. i just got to swap the pilots back out because its def. rich on the pilot now lol
  10. lmao..pm me a price if you still got the klotz.
  11. ive been running the chariot performance cages for a year now. i think they use boyesen reeds. they have held up really well and i noticed a pretty big bottom end difference over stock cages with boyesen carbon fiber reeds. i ride almost all trails and a little bit of open sand, these reeds have been a great fit for me. i have a friend with rad valves and since he went to 30 mm carbs his bike has never run right. i thought it was just not getting the carbs dialed right, you guys think it could be the reeds?
  12. i may have some 55 or 52 pilots come to think of it. ill try them and see what happens
  13. it smokes at idle when cold. but barely any noticeable smoke at idle when warm
  14. ya lean is what i was leaning toward from the beginning. i have another set of intakes i will try. i did a leakdown test and everything was good but it could be leaking between the carbs and boots maybe. the needle is from cascade. they claim it is better for pwk 28 carbs. i just put these needles in, my old needles were eek i think. but it didnt make any difference when i put them in. when i adjust the air screws it affects the way the bike runs but doesnt change the idling issue. i really dont think the idle is set too high because once it comes down to a good idle it will idle for as long as i let it as smooth as can be. when i turn the idle screws out a little it starts idling really low and will die and vice versa when i turn them in. i will check some more stuff and see what i find. thanks for the ideas guys keep them coming.
  15. well i origianlly thought it was the slides not coming down right also. but yesterday i had the pods off and pushed down on each slide with my finger while it was idling up and it didnt make any difference. i also put my hand over the end of each carb to kinda bog it down and then it would drop down to a perfect idle. i can do the same with it in gear and let out on the clutch a little to bog it down to idle. i will double check the slides real well to make sure they are dropping right but i think they are. climbanyhill, what size pilots are you running?
  16. my bike had 35 pwk's when i got it which i traded for 33's and then down to 28's. i never had any idling problems with either of the first two sets of carbs. but now with the 28's im having a hard time getting it to idle down right. i got the bike dialed in and running well with good throttle response and power throughout. it will idle all day long just fine but when i hit the throttle to rev it up and let off it takes it like 10-15 seconds before it comes all the way back down to idle. at first i thought it was the slides not returning right so i bought new springs and still the same thing. so now im thinking maybe it is lean on the pilot but im running 50 pilots (seem rich to me) and when i adjust the air screw it makes no difference. i have some 45 pilots i put in but it seems way too lean because it makes it run like crap on low end. my settings are 50 pilot 150 main n68a needles on middle notch air screw 1/2 turn out (ive tried it everywhere from 1/2 to 2 1/2). i just did a leakdown test and everything was good there. i have a cleanup port on .030 over bore, k&n pods, dmc 916 exhaust, 155 lbs compression, +5 timing, 700ft eelevation. any help would be appreciated. thanks
  17. toomeybanshee (i think is his name on here) has a purple frame shee and it looks sweet. it was in his sig dunno if it still is or not
  18. cool man. 40 isnt cold at all you shoulda ripped on it for a while. it has been really warm around here lately (around 40). its got me wanting to get mine out as well.
  19. nice looking bike. you got a really good deal at that price. id say your on the right track with cleaning carbs and air filter and changing gas. throw some new plugs in it while your at it. also make sure your carb slides are rising up at the same time when you pull the throttle. have fun and welcome to the site
  20. so 46.88 plus shipping for all three lines? that is a really good deal. i will do the same for the rear as i would also like a +2 swinger someday. let me know how those lengths work out for you when you get them
  21. nevermind i just saw you have the same arms as me
  22. so is that price per line or for the pair? looks like a nice selling page but a little confusing to me. what size arms do you have?
  23. which pods you interested in? what size carbs you got
  24. sorry man i dont have any of that stuff right now
  25. im not a drag racer but im running the forged ones and like them so far as well. my squish band was quite a bit higher when i put them in compared to the wisecos i had before
