  1. Ever since its gotten a little bit over 70 degrees my bikes had no top end and I bog a lot and leave a trail of smoke behind me (not horrible just seems rich) My mods are hjr aggressive trail port, +4 timing, vf3's, pro design 22cc domes, pt mids and a 2-1 carb at sea level. I'm currently running high octane. My jetting was 195 but I dropped to a 188 and still no luck, 45 pilot (if i remember correctly, and I think a eek needle (maybe snop can chime in because he helped me out with it earlier. Sometimes there is a little bit of bog of a rolling start but nothing too bad so low end seems to be decent. My shop charges about 5 bucks a needle and i'm going to aruba for a week so would like to order the needles while i'm here. My idle screw is screwed almost all the way in so could that have anything to do with it? I might check my timing plate to make sure its still at +4 and the loctite is holding. Also after I rev my it seems like something is vibrating (almost like a metal vibrating). I just don't want to fuck my new top end before I even get to rip on it this summer. Let me know if theres anything else I need to let you guys know. Also I might switch back to stockers or 28's when I get around to it. I just want to add that when I hit the throttle 5/8 and w.o.t are about the same power wise. The more gas I give it the louder it gets but no more power. Thanks cody
  2. I think you might be doing it wrong. Put a set of locking pliers on the big part after you screw it in (backwards threaded if I remember correctly) and then screw the smaller one into that. Then when your holding the locking pliers zip the small one in with an impact wrench. It will force the flywheel to pop off. Hope this helps.
  3. Where are you located and how much for the blaster. If your nervous about tearing apart a bottom end or top end send it off and pay 250-350 to have the work done for you + parts ofcourse. I don't know many people who prefer a stock banshee over a nicely tuned modded one.
  4. I have a z400 that I road for a long time before I got my shee. There fun to wheelie in, and do that kind of riding but I felt that they way the suspension was set up really killed me through the woods. My shee road better than it did with 10 year old stock shocks and +2 arms. They are a lot of fun though and are good all around bikes. The 250r would be cool because you know a 2 stroke inside and out and I don't know if you can say the same about a 4 stroke. I was also only 16 when I managed to bend the axle, subframe, handlebars, and a few other things the first month I had it(It all happened at once though.) and on flat ground.... . Plus you get get a 250r engine rebuilt for a lot less than z400 engine...right? Well good luck with your decision and get some bigger pics of the 250r if you pick it up.
  5. Get something foam. Make sure it will fit your adapter they make a lot of different kinds.
  6. Is the axle plus 4 only or can you adjust it?
  7. I cut a wrong wire and it did that to me. Theres a plug that was together and it looked unnecessary so I cut it. It coughed like you said anything more than idle. For me it was the wire (yellow/black for my 2000) that was right after where you cut the t.o.r.s. I really suck with wiring so its hard to explain but i'm sure someone else can chime in and help you out. Sounds like wiring for sure though.
  8. I might take my quad to my local shop and have them test it real quick. Its only a few minutes down the street and will be cheaper than buying one. What is a safe compression for 93 octane? I'm going to also buy some jets should I go in sizes of 1 or 2 if I wanna fine tune the main. The pilot and needle are seem to be pretty spot on.
  9. I recently installed a +4 timing plate and my current mods are vf3 reeds, 22cc domes, hjr aggressive trail port, 2 into 1 35mm carb, and paul turner mids. I'm just above sea level. My dad bought the low grade gas at the gas station by accident and my bike seems to run hot. If I run high octane all the time will this be enough? My headers are even bluing a little bit. They looked brand new when I bought them so its easy to tell. Also my low end jetting seems pretty spot on but when I hit the powerband i'd say my peak power is 3/4 throttle and anything more than that doesn't make it pull harder.(doesn't bog like its rich or seem like its lean). Will I have to do a compression test for you guys to know for sure or are my mods listed enough? Also if I get a billet impeller will it help it a lot or could I still need higher octane? Let me know if you need any other info but I think my mods and elevation should be enough. Let me know what you think. Thanks
  10. How much for tusk cap to va? Let me know
  11. I want a -2 swingarm, a overflow bottle without any cracks, and the trinity 2-1 airbox adaptor ( I have the k&n if you wanted to trade ). Let me know what you guys got.
  12. Most of the most expensive parts are now on ebay. Search 4swilliams in community and look for items for sale to see them. I've got the stator and flywheel, clutch assembly, top end, exhaust, and maybe a few more parts up for sale.
  13. Your going to be hanging on to it for a while if you want 9k for it.
  14. I have pictures of the top end, shocks, a-arms, bars, light, plastics, flywheel, stator, and maybe a few other things ready to be sent to anyone interested. Let me know what your interested in because theres too many pictures to post.
  15. I have a 97 yamaha blaster that I recently bought. It needed a new case since a rock cracked it. I decided I didn't want to put that kind of money in it to get it running. It has a Fatty pipe and powercore 2 silencer, The oil injection was removed, and it has recently had a new chain and sprockets installed. Its also got some after market reeds. Let me know what you are interested in and I can take pics. The top end was recently rebored .20 over it looks great. The plastics are blue and in great shape as well. Like I said just let me know what your interested in and we can work out a deal.
  16. What you talking bout willis. I'm in
  17. You might want to consider watching the movie "walk hard". Just kidding. Seriously though that is b.s. If they are just county sherriffs or whatever can't you call state police or people higher up than them. Theres gotta be someone in more command that isn't crooked, if the other ones even are. Try to stay calm and not raise too much hell.
  18. Crap they only have ten left....I hope they still have some by the time I get back from putting 150 bucks into my checking account.
  19. Yea dude i I haven't taken my bottom end apart but i'm itching to just so I can replace the clutch, get my crank welded, and do the shift shaft mod and what other tiny mods you can do.I just want to KNOW it can handle the abuse, you know? I was relieved to do my top end when I did because any more abuse and I could of broken something in the engine. If you don't have a clymers manual get one because thats where most of the gurus on this site get all their effin knowledge from anyhow. Top end only involves removing the carb, pipes, and gas tank to get to the head. Gasket sets are like 20 bucks and if you have tools thats all you need.
