Does anyone know if a boss one piece billet intake would work with t-5's? I read on another forum that if I used the intake and 35mm pwk's the k&n pod filters will rub on the stingers(even the angled ones). Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks for the replies everyone, I am actually waiting for my parts from Kevin at hjr, 4mm crank, dune ported cylinders, domes and all the other goodies so I can build my engine. I was just thinking ahead.
Hey thanks rippin, I thought it could be done I just didn't wanna look stupid after I had it all put back together just to find out it don't fit. again thanks a bunch!
Hey guys, I am getting ready to install my engine and I was wondering if anyone has installed the engine with the cylinders on? It seems like it would be alot easier to install the cyls. on the engine while it is out. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
You might wanna take the header pipe off of the left side and look inside of it. I just went through the same thing and it was a wrist pin bearing i had needle bearings all inside my pipe. I wouldnt recommend running it at all untill you figure out where the knocking noise is comming from Just my 02.
I've always put a gasket on both sides of the new reed cages, and put a lite coat of rtv. on both sides of each gasket. For the vf3's you need a total of four intake gaskets. Never had a problem.
Maybe he still has the old gas in it? May also need to clean the carbs/airfilters (hopefully). Gas in a plastic tank looses the octane rating over time.
Well, if the clutch actually disengages then I have no clue cause if it werent in all the way I would think that it wouldnt even move the push rod. The clymers manual says to put the actuator arm in before you put the push rod in. Hope this helps. I am no expert.
Just a shot in the dark, but is the choke tube connected between the carbs? fresh gas? did you buy it from someone that jetted it for a different elevation than yours? Maybe clean and inspect the carbs. do a compression test just to be sure.
