  1. I know, I had to re-read everything too! hahaha
  2. Post up your results!
  3. I spent three days wet sanding my plastic all the way up to 2000 grit and it was a complete waste of time.
  4. Meat you of all people should see if that channel is an option to you. Its called the outdoor channel and its dedicated to hunting and racing!
  5. Haha, the bannana looking thing is your linkage and you can rebuild it with new bearings, or buy used one. As far as your shock goes, you can pony up for an aftermarket one or call Shane and have him rebuild yours for about $100. Bearing kit: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=banshee+linkage+bearings&_sacat=See-All-Categories Shane at wolfpack racing: (219) 313-1424
  6. FAST is truly your one stop shop! He has everything you could possibly need for a build plus he can port it for you! He called me three or four times after my last build to find out how it was running and if I was happy with it or not. Customer service at its finest!
  7. Looks like you guys did it for a great cause! I haven't seen a banshee on one of his shows yet though.
  8. 16.5" should workout great for ya, provided they are valved somewhat close to your weight. Your probably going to want to go ahead and get the spindles and rest of the 450 front end though.
  9. Chuck it up in a vice and get a long piece of bar stock or pipe that will fit all the way through the swing arm and beat the crap out of it!
  10. Did you find out how long the Elkas were? What weight and arm length were they setup for?
  11. Wiesco.
  12. Dam, nothing hurts worse than the truth!
  13. Check to see where your pilot screws are set at. They should be around 1.5 turns out. Lightly screw them in all the way and then back them out 1.5 turns. If that doesn't help, screw them in .25 turns at a time and keep retesting. If it gets worse when you screw them in, obviously try backing them out .25 at a time. Don't go any further than 2.5. If its gets better when you back them out, you may need smaller pilots. Let the bike run a little while after setting the screws each time before testing.
  14. http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm You need to know your elevation, there is a chart midway down the page. I think most people run 91 up to 150psi and then start blending race gas with 91 after that.
  15. Get a manual!! It has step by step instructions and helpfull tips. Also, I would take the extra effort and pull the entire motor out of the frame. It only take about 15 more minutes and it make working on it alot easier. So first things first, BUY A MANUAL! Then drain the fluids out and pull the motor out of the bike. Then pull the topend off and take it to a shop to have it either honed or bored. Then you will know what pistons to buy. Then follow the instructions in your manual to reassemble.
  16. I did the complete swap as well and stock 450 shocks were a little to short. Measure the Elka shocks and see how long they are. Even though you said they were for a stock 450, they may be longer for some reason. If you use anything shorter than 16.25, it will sit low in the front. 17.5 is the absolute max I would use. I would think that it would sit high in the front with that much! Post up a pick with the ltr shocks please!
  17. Your going to need shocks that are 16.5" long for that front end to work right. I have 16.5 elka tripple rates with rezzies and they work great for jumping and trail riding. The steering is stiff and really sucks when I lower it out for racing though.
  18. If you go with the cub, you going to need a better clutch, swing arm, pipes and few other things to make the cub worth building. It should be reliable though, either way you go. The cub will make more power, its just going to take more money to set it up properly.
  19. I love it when a plan comes together!
  20. Yep, check it before you cut! How does that half link hold up for you? I was told by a local shop that half links are prone to breaking in high horse machines.?
  21. You might be able to run a stock length chain with a 12t. If not you will only have to cut one link out.
  22. Next time you sell a badass banshee to buy a 450, your out to Kyle!
  23. I ran 2 sets of 18" fast trekkers and they hooked pretty good, but they wore out a little quick. I then switched to 20" fast trekkers and they wore like iron and hooked like glue. If anything, they hooked a little to hard. I ride a little pavement, a little gravel and hard pack dirt alot. If your going to trail ride nasty stuff with dirt, mud and rocks I would roll with the fast trekkers hands down. I have ran cut Kendas all year and they work well on the track, but wear out very quickly on the trail. I would recomend them as a very good tire for the track, but they have a short life span on the trail.
  24. Call Jeff at F.A.S.T racing and tell him you want to go fast! 1-785-364-5325 You need to talk to a builder so that you buy the right stuff the first time.
  25. Artic cat makes a Thundercat 1000cc that is bastard fast for a 4x4. Its very sporty for a utility and with a few mods will run close to a stock 450. The CanAm Renegade is also pretty fast, but the ride wasn't as good as the Thundercat in my opinion. Your to dam big for a sport bike.
