  1. so i got my cylinders bored from jeff with pistons and all. broke it in with about a tank and half. occasonally gettin on it. well then i wanted to open it up a little so i was in 3rd and pinned it till 4th. rode 4th and then backfire. pulled into my barn, pulled the head and head was all scared and dented up. piston looks to be detonated. cylinder has a deep gouge from the ring. my left cylinder still holds 125 psi. i reused my jets i had before the build which were 240. maybe i had an airleak? or just way to lean. now im lookin for a new set of cylinlers. i was thinkin vito's cylinders and pistons since i need new of everything.. here is what im lookin at . My link are these good. any of you guys runnin these? my shee is a stock stroke any help wil be appreciated
  2. The jugs have a few little surface rust spots but they still have some hone marks, very little wear, they measure 66mm with my caliper. profesinoly ported by CT racing. great set of jugs. if you want pics of the port just emial. or you can call or text 513 289 5570 $$250 obo hauser2169@aol.com
  3. can you put slides in backwards? maybe thats what i did?
  4. also i took my filter off and looked through to the carbs... i will open the throttle and they both move the exact same time. i think the one on the right has a little more open then the other
  5. k so hopefully if i sync my carbs it will work.. i dont got a sync tool but i did find this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpqeSpbq0PQ... will this work?? is there an easyer way. and will i fuck up the motor if i ride it around a little to break it in if i HAVE to have the tool to sync>>
  6. k so i let my bike idol.well with me helping it... it wont run on both cylinders unless i get to high rpm. the left cylinder will alwasy run but not the right . whats i crack the throttle twice i will see some smoke out of both exhuast. i found out my jets are actually 240 mains ... and what do you mean the cut out on the slide. can someone show a pic of how the slides are suppose to look in the carbs? im preety sure i got them in right though.. sorry everyone. i feel like a complete dumbass for this shit. im startin to think thumpers are easyer to rebuild then the 2 stoke...

  8. k i will check the slides when i get home... is there a cheap radiator pressure tester i can buy. the cheapest i found was sears and it was 65.00? also i know how to change the main jet. but how do i figure out what my float should be at, i tried seacrhing it? couldnt find nothing
  9. nope. no gas coming from the overflow. i mean the carb was fine before the rebuild.. i dunno. i guess il try breakin it in more see if that helps. if it doesnt il just start messin with the carbs. also if i cant see any visible collant leaking where does the collant usally leak inside.? head? just tryin to get all the info i can when i go to work on it cause i dont got the internet out where im goin.
  10. iknow it might take a while for the rings to seat but i didnt no it take this long. this is my first 2 stroke rebuild. i usually do thumper rebuilds, oil burns off in seconds. how do i know that its not collant thats getting burned. id say i have to give her quater throttle to keep it goin. i rode it laslt night for about 15 mins after letting it warm up and a heat cycle. jeff said to occasionly blurp the throttle it pulls but the freight train smoke is kinda scaring me. also will a fuel filter cause my rough idol? i just installed a new one?
  11. k so i just got my cylinders bored from jeff at fast with pistons, the bore is 40. over. it started first kick, was smokey because i assembled it all with left over klotz oil. does it take a while for allt he oil to burn off? more then 20 mins?well the smoking never stoped, it got a little better but not much. i might be burning collant somehwere but i cant / or dont know where to start lookin at. im not leaking coolant thats for sure. my other problem is that its not idloling like it was. i contstanlty have to keep giving it a little gas to keep it runnin. i got 290 jets in it. any help would be greatly apprectiated.. i wanna ride
  12. k so im doing a rebuild, cylinders and pistons should be back from jeff monday.. i was lookin over my motor and found a hoe right by the clutch arm.. what goes there, breather of some sort? i cant find it in my manual or a parts pic
  13. i went to logan last year.. there are like 4 or 5 stip clubs real close. just dont expect anything amazing in there
  14. k so the other day my buddy gave me cp ported cylinders, still on the stock bore. im sending the cylinders to herr or fast to get bored and such. my bike now just has fmf exhaust, +4 timing and open airbox wtih a KN. i ride only trails. my question is, should i get new reeds while im redoing it, if so what kind, and will they work in my stock reed cage. also, can anyone give me a ball park answer on what i should jet this to for break in>?
  15. i took one plug out. put my compression tester on it and kicked it about 30 times till the needel stoped moving. and i did it while it was cold cause it didnt want to fire
