  1. 30 acres is worth a hell of alot more than a banshee! At least you will have a place to ride when you get another one! Thats a nice bike, you should be able to get $3500 out of it.
  2. I race with a guy that uses them. He has 18x10x8s and work very well on hard pack tracks. They are kinda ballooned up, but not bad. What do you plan on using them for? I don't think they would be very good trail tires.
  3. I would drive the ford and use the duramax when needed.
  4. Send me pics of the front Elkas with a price please. Thanks
  5. Are the splines on your shift shaft in good shape?
  6. If your going to build a 4mil, do yourself a favor and do it right the first time. You will save yourself money and headache! You can pick up a nice used cool head for $150 and stroker domes for $50 if your patient.
  7. $100 dollar port job makes me wanna cringe.. I think you'll get what you pay for. Just call a builder and talk it over. You may end up leaving it a stock stroke motor with a mx port job! Either way I wouldn't buy anything until you get a good clear direction for your build. I would use one builder through out the project. I wouldn't have one guy bore it, one guy port it and order my parts from another guy..
  8. Don't run a spacer plate. Also, if your builder is not familiar with 2 stroke porting, goes with out saying, don't take your motor to him for porting! You can assemble the motor with basic hand tools and a manual. Leave the port work to a competent builder if you want to do it right the first time. As far as case porting goes, I would recomend it. I would also suggest you call a builder and discuss your goals with him. Call Jeff for your motor work, 1-785-364-5325. This is his website. http://www.farmandsa...s.com/index.asp
  9. 4mil long rod crank with max load bearing and weld $500 795 wiesco pistons $165 Dune/Play port $350 Cool head with domes cut for 4mil $250 Gasket set to put it all back together $45 Cases port matched $100 Total: $1310 That would be your basic must have list to build a 4mil. The list doesn't stop there however if you don't have: A good clutch, FAST clutch $100 Billet basket $160 New inner and outer hubs $55 Pancake bearing $50 Additional total: $365 That would get you close, but the list doesn't stop there if you don't have: Pipes, (depending on what your looking for) $250-$500 Intakes $100 Carbs $300 Filters $85 Additional total: $485 + pipes Grand total $2160 + pipes.
  10. Hahah, well, I'm only answering your questions because I have tried a bunch of different suspension combinations over the years. Some have worked great and some didn't work worth a shit. I have ran just about everything you can think of besides a true long travel setup.
  11. I rode stock shocks on my full flights for an entire summer. You can ride it until you get some shocks, but its going to be soft.
  12. A rebuild will cost you about 300-350 bucks, unless you need to replace your crank. If you need to replace the crank then your looking at an additional $100-150. Do the rebuild yourself and that will save you alot of money, and you will get to know your bike. All you will need is a manual!
  13. Unless you have a J-arm bike, they should work just fine. It won't sit high in the front, but depending on your weight, they may be a little stiff. I weigh 225lbs and had to stiffen them up. If you are around 150lbs then they might be a little stiff. You don't absolutely need to relocate the mounting tabs, however in my opinion it is very cheap and you should strongly consider it. One of the problems with the shocks being to long is that they are a pain in the ass to get them mounted. The biggest problem is that the ball joints that mount to your spindles will be the limiting factor when they are at full droop. I'm sure that can't be good on them.
  14. The 450 shocks are a great addition to +2 arms. They are fully adjustable, cheap and have aftermarket support. With that said, they are still about an inch to long, however there are ways to fix that. I'm going to send my +2 arms to Tim at Stellar to have him lower the mounting tab on the lower arms. For what he is charging to do that and the cost of a good set of 450 shocks, you come out way ahead money wise. There are still alot of people that run them and have had great luck with them.
  15. 75hp is quite a bit! I thought you could get upwards of 90hp on a drag ported 4mil stock cylinder bike with similar mods though. ?
  16. I think this is the dude you saw. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=121706&st=90
  17. My buddies bike has a dark red/ marroon colered frame with blue plastics and it looks terrible.
  18. If your really his friend you would get him a banshee! For a couple of reasons, he rode yours and likes the feel of the two stroke. Banshee's are increasingly cheap and available. You can help him work on his, etc etc... If he does get one, he doesn't have to outfit it to look just like yours.
  19. Go with a long rod.
  20. Yes! Port match the cases. I felt a seat of pants difference and it just seemed to run better overall.
  21. If you have all the parts lying around, try it and see how you like it. Personally I would sell them and buy +2+1 arms and shocks built for the banshee. Keep your callipers and master cylinder though, the 450 brakes are a pretty nice upgrade.
  22. Yep, get a GForce axle and new carrier bearings from Alfie. If your in the mood to spend some money, upgrade your swing arm to a round house style.
  23. If he has pods, just take a screw driver with you and take one off and measure with a tape measure. I will go measure mine for you if that will help you.
  24. Porting your bike will be night and day difference in power. You will need to call a few builders and talk to them about pricing.
  25. I don't think that goes inside your clutch case anywhere. Sounds to me like that is the pin that holds the rear master cylinder lever to the foot brake.
