  1. You should add both! A little more compressiona and timing will help you out in the trails.
  2. This would be a cheap way to figure out whether or not you want a negative length swinger. Also, you don't need the bottom chain guide on a short swinter like that. I ran all summer without one on my -1.5 and never had any issues anyway.
  3. I'm to scared to buy anything from that guy.
  4. All we have to do is have the metal in bare form and provide the powder.
  5. I would contact Tim at Stellar machine and price one of his swingarms. He does top notch work and is way better priced. He is one of the site sponsors so look in the sponsors section for contact info. Also I wouldn't commit to the -2 before you try a negative length swinger. A -1 will be a little more forgiving. I would also recomend that you switch to a round house style carrier.
  6. I'm running a -1 and wouldn't go back to anything longer, ever! The bike flys much better, turns better and just all around handles better. I ride in the timber, hills, and TT race on the weekends. As far as which to do first, thats up to you really. I would probably do the front arms and shocks first just because they suck so bad.
  7. I'm basically running the exact same motor as you are except my port work was done by Jeff. I have never had a set of cpis, so I can't tell you from experience. I did however switch from T5s to Rockets and absolutely love them. I think the Rockets and CPIs are comparible.
  8. You might be able to just hone the cylinders, but you will have to take them to a machine shop to have them checked for roundness. Wiesco pistons are the only way to go. A standard rebuild should cost you about $250-$300 bucks.
  9. More rpms = more wheel speed.
  10. He said it depends on the powder. I'm going with a translucent blue with an extreme chrome base coat. I will need 3lbs of blue and 1.5lbs of chrome. If your going to do a single stage I thinks its around 1.5-2 lbs. Let me know what color when your ready to order and I will ask him to be sure.
  11. Also take notice of how much longer the cpis and sheares pull. The cpis pulled 1000 more rpms than the fattys and toomeys.
  12. The whole card was awesome. Only one fight went to decision. Jardine is done and Joe daddy got worked! What esle is there to say about the nog fight, that KO was brutal.
  13. These guys can get you rebuilt for less than $150, especially since you have your new spring already. http://www.gtthunder.com/
  14. Good looking bike! Welcome to your new home!
  15. Looks awesome! However I guess I will have to be the jackass to ask the obvious, whats up with that bumper!
  16. Haha. Take the hose loose where the "gas turn off thingy" is and let the gas drain out into a bucket.
  17. I talked to my powder guy today and he said he can do the two stage powders, ie candy or translucent. Let me know when you guys want to get started.
  18. How much did a new cover from Yamaha cost ya? You can get a good used one on ebay for $15 bucks or if you asked, someone around here would probably just give you one if you covered the shipping. Welcome to the HQ!
  19. I don't $325 would be worth it in the long run. By the time you include shipping there and back your lookin close to $400.
  20. Its hard to tell from your pics. The banshee frames look kinda funny and crooked due to the motor area. Did it ride down the road crooked before you took it apart?
  21. I think it looks pretty kick ass! I though it was a black and white pic also.
  22. If your frame isn't bent you should just install them screwed all the way in. You can't and won't be sure until you mount the spindles and tires though. Just mount everything up loosely and adjust as needed.
  23. Listen to Kevin, he won't steer you in the wrong direction. To add what Burt Reynolds said though, you need to get totally commited to this build to get everything out of it. You need a bunch of stuff for everything to work at its potential. I'm not trying to scare you out of the 4mil, but rather giving you a heads up. Things you will need in addition to your portwork: 4 mil crank, extra weld, and upgraded maxload bearings. New seal kit. You will need a new clutch, I would recomend the FAST clutch hands down. Billet basket, I would put in new inner and outer clutch hubs as well, for $50 bucks why not. Pancake bearing You should go ahead and mod the transmisson parts while your in there. You should also go ahead and let Kevin port match the cases. Carbs, let Kevin help you decide on which carbs to run. Intakes for the new carbs. Filters for the new carbs. Domes cut for the 4mil and new orings. This list could go on for a while but I'm sure your getting the point. Once you get this list a little closer to completed your going to be very happy with your motor!
  24. I'm sure he will hook us up, hes a pretty cool guy. He built his own oven and has been experimenting with it a little here an there. He just finished his frame in silver vein and it came out awesome. I'll keep you guys in the loop. I plan on getting mine done before spring. If you guys are in a hurry or want to get it done before then, I will just hook you guys up with his contact info.
