left side misfire and running hot
sleeper06 replied to bronco91shee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Pressure test results ? Could have an air leak or a clogged circuit my advise is stop driving it till you test it blowing spark plugs out is a cry for help -
Banshee RUNS NORMAL then TAKES A SHIT?!?!?!?!?
sleeper06 replied to Jorge_pg's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Do a compression test , pressure test then pop head to verify dome size . That's like a 16:1 motor no way pump fuel is ok . You might have already hurt the motor -
I was under the impression jsr was a good shop , the owner seemed to know his shit on the phone

I always rotate the clips so they sit half bottom half top

I was thinking that thing was screaming for help long before that plug burnt up

Backfire could be because of air leak or ignition components

How are you setting the floats. Tilting in an angle position till it just hit the spring on the needle lightly -

4⃣MILL banshee bad throttle response at low end
sleeper06 replied to Jorge_pg's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Your running 40:1 with the rite oil I'm not so worried about you but the op know nothing about his motor running 50:1 worries me . . My statement is also from the mindset of the guy building your motor I want lots of lubricant. I'm jaded . To the op are you sure it's a pump fuel motor- 22 replies

4⃣MILL banshee bad throttle response at low end
sleeper06 replied to Jorge_pg's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hercalmighty is rite about checking compression it's good to know dome size and overall condition of rings. Is there port work? And to answer her almighty ? About oil . As some of you know I tnker quite a bit with banshee engines I've seen the insides of 100s of motors 40-1 and 50-1 ratios tend to share metal/ scuff /was cylinders. I'm not saying some of you don't have good luck with it but IMO it's ragged edge shit I'll get my hp elsewhere . It's also not for the average banshee owner who doesn't hAve a good ear for what his/her bike needs . I'll tell you I've seen many crank bearing failures on a amsoil dominator 40:1 on a cr-125 race bike , I bored the carb touched up ports , changed the head ran 32:1 same oil bike hasn't been apart in 3yrs and still sounds tight coincidence I'm not sure . The best looking inside of a motor I've ever seen was ran 32:1 on castor 927 , I built bike 6 yrs ago his compression dropped 6 lbs so I took it in for rering , when I popped it open it looked brand new and he rides it 10 hrs a week usually sometimes more- 22 replies

The other day a kid came to me with a peice of a pen used as a carb top adjuster because original broke off during a cleaning. He couldn't understand why It didn't run rite. Then I get into the carbs just for a look see and find the float held in by a cotter pin . Needless to say it runs good now with all the rite parts
-
Without knowing mods I couldn't tell you

I've seen vforce on tons of stock shit around here were the tips freyed and were they sealing good ( no light coming through)
-
Sometimes it leaks from the keyway groove in the primary. Check your crank seals, if it's none of that . Pressure test the coolant side to 16lbs maybe a head seating problem. Some say that's acceptable lose but if it's head it will get worse I don't let any motor leave me unless that needle doesn't move

I work on a fair amnt of bikes I'm in the habit of tapping the carb bowls with the back of s screwdriver a cpl of times to bang the floats around a lil. It aligns everything perfectly

1/4 drive metric sockets
-
Try a local machine shop , either way the proper way to do it is to split it , boil it out , pre-heat it then weld it
-
It's very hard to do effeciantly on a traditional set up unless someone has a trick I've toyed with some ideas if you wanna hit me up
-
And assuming you have no fibers and steels installed, if you feel like shipping your equipment to me I'll take a look at it on my mock up engine , just an option if your out of them
-
Both posters are rite I've no options a cpl of times and ran missing one, but I was using a stock head which I feel orientates thing a lil better than a mod quad head which happens to be junk

340 , 32.5 pilot needle 4 th clip if it acts sluggish and you go through all needle settings might need toomey needles
