i went back and forth from elka to floats. I'm getting floats once my motor is back home. I have never riden a quad with after market suspension or a-arms so i am looking forward to it.
Someone asked how deep your pockets are and you said what money you have into your rotor. Pick builder, talk about power delivery, fuel type etc then set up a chassis that works for you. Thats pretty general.
a banshee billet 10mil crank is about $1000. CP jugs like a cub or serval are around 800 before port work, there's carbs, head, domes etc. Yeah it's cheaper but that's been done over and over. it's good to see something new get quicker.
after seeing this video a while back, i think id keep the raptor for a drag bike and buy a banshee to play with
60' like no other.
No idea what it cost to build a bike like that and it doesnt matter if it's more than a banshee. it dominates. Although if anyone cares to disclose what a bike like that cost to build, id love to know.
i bought into the fad about 5 years ago and bought some yfz450 arms/shocks. I rode rough as hell but handled way better due to being wider. The front being lower made it hard to do wheelies. Sold it for cost of shipping i hated it so much. I been rocking stock suspension since. I'm picking up some +3+1 arms and good shocks made for a banshee. Time to do it right. I wish i could go back in time and tell myself do proper suspension before any power mods.
Id like to do the one with the stock mounting location. That way i wouldnt have to weld and repower coat the frame. Can redline mod the cover for this so it's bolt on and go?
Makes sense, 4-5 years ago 4mil was big on HQ. Now everyone is at least going 10mil. And now they want more more more bore.... enter the dominate male. Hell, if it wasnt for cooling issues, maybe that's would id be building.
is a 421 a common class people compete with or it's just cheaper than building a 10mil cub? I know off hand with a 10mil cub, there's the crank and case trenching but is that all in added cost? I have no intention of building either, just curious why 421's are so popular.
Unless he weighs and same and rids the same terrain, then he isnt set. That's why i didnt buy them. No sense in buying front suspension you will have to send out and get re valved.
ATV galaxy(a forum sponsor) sells a-arm and shock sets. Give them a call or send a pm to get a quote.
That's true for us dirt guys too. Either you want to 60' or slide the rear around.
You can just add a ton of power and catch him on top end. But that's an expensive option.
