I don't want to be the odd one here saying you won't be able to do it yourself, I think almost anyone can rebuild a banshee...... but not everyone is a DIY guy. I have been rebuilding lawnmowers and go karts when I was 12, but what the heck, I liked it!! Some of my friends just cannot even change their sprockets at the age of 30! If they really try I am sure they will get it done, long story short, not everyone is tecnical orientated. My opinion is get a manual, see how its done and then thought it threw or ask someone that has done it before to help you. If you do a clean job and all the tolerances are in spec the top end should last long... $825 is way to much if you want to get it done by someone else, except if it needs resleeving.. Good Luck!

What rim Offsets do you guys run?
2strokespirit replied to 01bansheefox's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I don't understand what you want, but if its tire sizes, say you have a 20 x 11 - 9 The 20 is the diameter of the tire, the 11 is how wide it is (the width) and the 9 is your rim size, all in inches. -
What mods do you have? What mods do they have? The predator will not be faster than a Banshee on the top end if you both have stock gearing. The 450s are fast, if you are just piped with reeds and filter, is will be close, the 450 may won, depending on the mods. The predator piped should not be a problem, my friend has one.

Adjusting air screws.... the whistle sound
2strokespirit replied to 2strokespirit's topic in General Banshee Discussion
YES, not because its elkas, but after fitting them and adjusting them to what I like and think should work for my riding style they are awesome. I do XC, at full throttle you will ba AMAZED how they handle the bumps etc. and they are not even long travel, I just can't imagine how a long travel setup will soak up bumps at even higher speeds. I know the works, like them 2. The ohlins for the banshees is a bit dated I think, but I heard Custom Axis and fox are awesome 2. Some people start raving on the Stadium shocks as well, dont know them. -
Adjusting air screws.... the whistle sound

Getting me back for the inline coolers.... ???? lol :yelrotflmao: -
I dont think they make the toomeys anymore. You can get a pro design for under $400, or PWR. Theres some on e-bay for even cheaper, I think torch works or something.

My English is not very good, but I suppose bog means to rich, well thats the sound my bike make when its to rich. I know a lot of people will laugh at me but with a K&N filter in your airbox, lid removed and seat while the bike idles, You can adjust the airs crews perfectly on a whistle sound that they will make, by putting your ear close to the airbox and turning the air screws from the lock position outwards. Theres a very soft whistle sound when you reach the perfect spot, just turn it back to the position just before the sound starts, or play between the area of where the whistle starts and stops. I was amazed when I first heard the sound when listened carefully while turning the airs crews, it works spot on. I had the exact same problem as you did, messing around with my airs crews fixed the problem. I am a builder myself and are using the whistle sound for years now on 2 strokes, unfotunatly I cant hear it when there is no K&N and the bike should idle of course. This is no joke, but laugh if you want to... I suppose i've got supersonic hearing!!! yelrotflmao.gif

This is no gimmick. Some people say they can't hear it if I ask them to listen, but I sure do!!! So I suppose not every human can hear the high peak Hz. I suppose i've got supersonic hearing!!! :yelrotflmao: ...oh, unfotuanetly there is no whistle sound for the mains or the needles... lol

Float hight at 21mm?? Needle and seat sealing?

You have to loosen 2 nuts, plus the adjuster nuts, turn the adjuster bolts out and then it should move easy.

:yelrotflmao: inline coolers. lol.

Is this a new bearing? There is no way the bearing should touch the web, I think the shaft would not allow it, but you might have damaged it, replace it with a new one. If you did not damaged it, its damaged anyway, replace it now that the cases is open.

The oversize radiators do a very good job, I know some guys will say a stock radiator will do the job, but not for my type of riding or conditions, no banshee will stay cool for long. I do trails, and on hot days, 45 degrees celsius, my bike runs way to hot. Its not the radiator size, its the airflow that is the problem when going slow, but with the bigger radiator and more capacity it does work for sure, get the billet impeller and forget about inline coolers, they don't mean anything, trust me.

Yes they are pretty good. A guy that race a Laegers Banshee has a set, he has used ohlins, elka and now the Black widows and he said they are great. He is no bullshitter and he can ride. He was SAs National champ in 2005. So I think hes opinion may mean something.

EXTREME FABRICATION skid plate
2strokespirit replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I've got a set of their nerve bars and hates them!! Bolting them on and they stand like 25 degrees up in the air, because the mounting brackets should have been lower. Its almost higher than the foot pegs so your feet don't touch the spikes of your peg and slip of all the time. I made a custom bracket for them just to lower them, now they are ok. I know its not skid plate, but thought I give some info of their products. -
In SA 1211 is the "new" yamabond. Yamaha sell it in the treebond package with a Yamaha part number on it. I like the 1211.

Does anyone has a on board cub video that I can watch? I saw a lot of videos, but would like to see some on board action on dune climbing at various speeds. lol I want to built a cub for drag races and figured if I can see some videos it will be the closest I can get before riding one. Thanks

As long as I have 2-strokes, which included my banshee that I bought new in 2006, I ran it for about 30 minutes at various engine speeds without hammering it, after that, i ride it as if a stole it!!! I also premix a little richer as always for the first 2 tanks of gas. Never had problems.

Like said ^^^^ the the number should be under the flywheel cover on the frame. You should see it easily unless it was maybe spray painted or something. Good Luck
