  1. Can the stock stator be modified to do this?
  2. Does the TZ bearing only work with straight cut gears? I ask because I wonder if the straight roller style has thrust issues with the stock cut angled gears. Also is there a tz style bearing for the stator side? Or should I just run the regular roller style ball bearing on each side, the one Jeff lists as a max load bearing.I am looking at my options because my stator side bearing just came apart on my brand new hot rods crank. I am so happy.
  3. At Sand Hollow three weeks ago my bike quit shifting and was making horrible clunking noises like when I was on the gas like it was trying to down shift gears under a load. I tore the clutch cover off and we could not get the bike to get into a gear higher then third on the trailer. I split the case and cant find anything wrong, the forks look straight and I can get everything to spin and turn the shift drum through the gears. Occasionally when shifting by hand I get a rough spot between second and third but with it out of the bike and the case off I know everything is not in perfect alignment. How do I find my issue? I did find that my hot rods crank that has 4 weekends on it decided to lose its stator bearing and tear some shit up so I guess it is good I tore it down this is the second one of these cranks to lose bearings with low hours, they are junk.
  4. Ill call Jeff and see what he says about his override, I just worry about all of this "backloading" and bent fork issues I read about when I search. Granted though these threads are a year or two old so these things may be getting better now.
  5. So who did the machine work on the rz stuff just so I can explore it as an option
  6. I hoped you would chime in I know you have alot of experience with the override. Everything I search about the override makes it sound like it is for more motor than my bike has. Also I was concerned about the no downshifting stuff. I dont hillshoot at all only dune ride.
  7. My stroker/duner has never put power to the ground like it should. Jeffs clutch, basket and pancake bearing fixed it. Holy god my bike ran like it never had before, for about 3 hours of riding. Now I can not get neutral, and cant get out of 3rd or 4th. I tore it down on the trailer and found that I could not spin the tires and roll the shift drum. I haven not torn it down yet but I am guessing a shift fork or the like. So if I was going to spend a little of money on my trans where should I spend it? I do not think I want an override because my wife rides it occasionally. So I was thinking the shift star, Jeffs shift shaft spring mod, maybe the Alba shift drum and bearing. But what else? Are there better shift forks? I search and dont find much but how do I get this trans to hold up better? Another ruined weekend and a 450 will replace the damn thing in my garage. Thanks for any advice BTW I would guesstimate this bike turns 75 horse...
  8. Are reed petals really $110? That is what I was finding, so after you buy new pedals it would be the same cost as new reeds? Why are the reeds so expensive and what can be done to keep them from breaking up?
  9. Shouldnt have, its my baby and has barely seen the light of day, I have very few pics of it for anyone to use, and none of them are on the net
  10. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&a...id=&cat=145 If anyone is looking, located in Utah, need to sell
  11. Well hell.My buddy lost his crank bearing so he tore it down for an overhaul. He crossed the flywheel puller and the threads are now gone in the flywheel. How are you guys pulling the flywheel without being able to use the puller?
