  1. Just want to confirm, before buying, can I rebuild a hot rods crankshaft with Yamaha conrods and big ends? I want to buy a second hand crankshaft and has a set of new yamaha rods & bearings. Thank you
  2. I feel the same way, but I heard wiseco cranks are made in Taiwan, I've read that in the yamaha rd forum so, I will not be surprise if it is 1 company that manufacters these cranks for wiseco, vitos etc. I dont say it is but i WONT be surprised.
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-Yamaha-...sspagenameZWDVW Anyone bought one of these? My RZ needs a new crank and this is a pretty good price.
  4. I recently measured the calipers and discs of the yfz450 and saw that the front hubs and discs are the same except for the spindles which are from aliminium, the calipers mounting bolt gaps are the same, has anyone fit yfz calipers on the banshee spindles. The Yfzs has excellent front brakes and thought I'm gonne give it a go. Thanks
  5. No, just asking, would like to het a noss head. I know for a fact there is another company that makes them, just dont know who. I NOSS is going to make one, I'll hang on for a few months.
  6. Hey man If this thing runs, PLEASE let me know how it works!!!!
  7. who sells these head for the RZs? except pro design? Thanks
  8. I dont know, but soon I am going to get these myself. Did you buy the handheld controller to program them?
  9. Does anyone know where they make wiseco hotrod cranks and has a link to back it up? I just read a post on the rd site about these cranks and someone there said taiwan?? Just curious... dont like that.
  10. I want to built a nice all rounder, I wanne to go the RZ route bur deside to use the banshee motor. I want to built a 4mm long rod with the yamaha cylinders and porting to match the new setup. I will use the 795 wisecos and cool head with 21cc domes on pumpgas. Will this be a nice torque motor, is it worth to go to the stroker for this setup or will a ported stock stroke run ALMOST as strong or not close? What size carbs will fit this setup? I know there wil be a lot of opinions but to the guys that had/has the same setups, give some opinions please. I want to import these goods to SA, who is a good company that I can contact? Thank you.
  11. Yes, any bike can be choke manually, does not matter if the choke works or not, by putting a towel over the intake instantly richen the mixture dramatic, like i said, i had the same problem, take off your carbs and swap the bowls so that the one with the fuel passage is on the carb with the chokelever, if u inspect the bowl you'll see they are differant. The last on who jetted the bike or cleaned the carbs must have put the wrong one on the wrong side. Now just go and do it. :-)
  12. Like i said, you've got the wrong floatbowl on the wrong carb. If thats the case, the bike wil still run perfect, but your choke wil not function because of the fuel passage which the one floatbowl does not have, which function is to richen the mixture ONLY if u pull the choke. Just check it, im sure thats your problem. Like i said the bike wil run fine with the wrong one on the wrong side, but the choke wont work at all.
  13. You've got the wrong floatbowl on the wrong carb, change the 2 floatbowls, the one where the choke lever is on has a passage for fuel to run through, just inspect the 2 bowls you wil see they are differant. I made that mistake once and when inspecting the bowls i saw they are not the same.
  14. Thanks to all of you for the feedback!! This is a great website and enjoy it non stop!!!
  15. I am from South Africa so the motors is FAR from you. Anyways i am a RZ350YPVS builder so know these motors very very well, I know of 2 companies that make ALL the electronics for the RZ/RD350YPVS and LC YFZ350 Banshee, they make the stator, control units for the powervalves, cdi, they even make programable cdi and control units, so if you can get a motor, electronics aint gonne be a problem at all. They make reliable stuff. The cdi goes for about 60 euro, programable cdi and control boxes at good prices!! Oh yeah and regulator rectifiers and you can buy the pick up coils seperate. In South Africa you can still buy the RZ cdi and stator new from yamaha thats for the 31K. Thanks
  16. I had to use the stock brakelines for now, if i run them behind the shock they are to short, so for now they have to be in front until i get braided =2 lines. Thanks for the reply! Its a new bike with this etup.
  17. I did search and find some answers, but want to ask again, to those who did put the powervalve motor in their banshees, would you do it again? The reason I am asking is i have 2 RZ 350 motors lying in my garage and my hands are itching to put one in the banshee, I know what you need and the exhaust changes and everything, I know some guys that has part out their RZ banshee and thats why i am asking, were they not happy? Will you put back the Banshee motor (if you dont care how much the RZ setup has cost and money is not a problem) or will you stay with the powervalve motor? Thanks.
  18. Elka compression & rebound adjustable shocks mx and crosscountry setup. HD + 2 +1 arms, the shocks did not clear the arms but with slight modification it did. Awesome mod, best mod to do first!! Unbelievable at high speeds! The picture was taken before i have cut the plastics.
  19. Please can some of u with cubs and ported oem cylinders that had them on a dyno tell my how much torque in newton metres the motor produce? I know they wil be all differant, i am just curious. Thanx
  20. Please, i did NOT ask if a cub is good for trails, i know n cub is a horrible trail motor, i think everyone knows that by now. I want to know if they make much less power than a stock banshee cylinder with no porting at the bottom to mid. I am browsing the web with a mobile, so i dont get that much answers when searching with my mobile. Thanks.
  21. ..when i contact the dealer, they did not want to take the arms back, i am a mech engineer so this was easy to fix, i had to cut 5mm of the one side where the bush fits in and add it up at the front of the arm to move the arm back for the shock to clear the arm. All done and look great! Pics wil be up soon. I just dont like people who tell u a certain product wil fit on another and then if it dont they just pull up their shoulders! Anyways i am from SA so dont u worry about the dealer!
  22. I bought a set of (i2500) +2 +1 Hydrodynamics a arms and 4 months later elka comp&rebound adj shocks. When i ordered the a arms the dealer told me that the elka(cross country & mx) shocks wil fit on the arms, anyway when i had fit the a arms, the upper arm could slide back and forward about 1.5mm, i had to make a stainless steel washer to get rid of the gap! The second desaster was that the elka shocks's spring was to thick and the upper a arm's tubing was in its way. I had to modify the upper arm!!
