Gas Gas 450 EFI MOTOR $1675
Washburn replied to nosbanshee4u's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I looked into them 2 strokes a while back but I never seen one run and I figured parts would be hard to come across. They must have dropped the price last I remember they were like 7-8gs. Parts are relitivly easy to get and they arent much and 5000 for that 300 Wild HP with Ohlins and all of the other extras look like a killer deal to me. Screw a 450r if I can pick one of these up in the future. -
Ive been riding since I was about 10 and I started doing minor engine work when I was around 14 or so, Then I got my LT250R and did 2 top ends I started working at sears warehouse fixing weedeaters and lawnmowers when I was 19 and now I have the Banshee. Its like a new begining only 2 of everthing  Oh, I still dont even know where to start with 4 strokes

Somebody explain XC/GNCC racing to me!
Washburn replied to Skithis's topic in XC/Hare Scramble Forum
Good advice guys. Holeshots are pretty key on keeping a good spot. Also work on your cornering and set your suspension accoringly. Stock suspension sucks but it still has adjustments. Boots and a chest protector are a good Idea and are called for you dont have to worry about number plates but get a teather/killswitch if you dont have one forget about racing. They are relitivly inexpensive and they are a good idea anyway. -
Damn good price! I think you can put the tires on pretty easy. Ive never dealt with beadlocks never had the $$$ I just use Codys tire changing machine for mine. Now that you have beadlocks you can run those wal mart balls too  Thats awsome. Them Hipers stand up to a beating man. Whenever I get the cream Im buying a set for the rear. I have a pretty good idea on what Im going to do for suspension this season but my resale is gonna blow because of the weight I need them valved for.

Has the Banshee just outlived its time? XC/HS
Washburn replied to banskie's topic in XC/Hare Scramble Forum
Rite, I am by nature a competitive person espically in races. If I was just in it for fun I would slap on some cheap A-Arms and some YFZ or ole works style suspention but Im spending all of this money to compete. Im just realistic about it. I weight more I have a bad leg and I dont have the years of practice and unlimited sponcership the pro riders do but that doesnt mean I cant be competitive on a Banshee. If I wanted to have a machine that would do half of th work for me I would get a 450r but that cuts from the fun factor if you ask me There are some tough spots for any 2 stroke vs a 4 stroke but with enough time on the bike and in those situations you can cut your time. Any racer should be in shape so fatiuge shouldnt play that big of a role. Sure your sore at the end of the day at night and the next morning can be a bitch but thats part of it. At the end of the day as long as Im covered in mud and I did my best to finish the race Im happy but I prefer racing on a Banshee. Will that change who knows life changes all of the time but for now mst of my free time and my extra spending cash will be put into the ultimate woods racing Banshee. And $20.00 on the new Clutch album. It rocks so damn hard! -
I actualy called around looked at a few then I was desprate and I started calling dealerships asking if they have any used Banshees. One did. 03 blue,ChromeTR6s, DG nerf bars, killswitch, parking break blaock off, Mudsharks, skid plates, everything else was stock for 2700. Its a runner too no doubt about it. I know I got a good deal. Im just suprised on where I got it. 2500 Pick it up

 Hope I get it man. I dont have much bread to spend on bling but that would look tight on mine. I just had to bid.

Thats a damn good deal 700.00 for a-arms and shocks. How are they setup though? You could always get the ASR A-Arms and the Elka e36s setup to your weight and riding conditions for 740.00. Mabey a little less. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ASR-Banshee...1QQcmdZViewItem The ASR A-Arms look very quality. I can get you the Elka e36s for under 400.00. I already got a pair for a member on this board. So you still have a chioce weather to go with Elka or ishocks. If you need prices on any other Elka shock PM me.

Sure thig bud, Like I said If you want to write a review on Buchanan Racing thats cool by me. Im just happy I could assist you meet your needs and make you and your Banshee happy  I hear you on catching up on some sleep. Ive been doing alot of drivways myself with a snowblower. Im layed off for the snow/cold season so my boss lent me a snowblower and set me up with a few driveways to do and I found some more going door to door and based on word of mouth. I really wish I had a truck with a plow. I always mantain them so no Ice builds up but sometimes its beyond my controll and I have to use 10lb bags of salt to melt the ice wait for it to take affect and plow it with a shovle so salts not all over the driveways cracking the cement. Then I have some carpentry work on a few peoples houses a few friends and Aquaintances then workig on getting the website finished.

Has the Banshee just outlived its time? XC/HS
Washburn replied to banskie's topic in XC/Hare Scramble Forum
Ive never raced a true GNCC Race. Most I ever did was a few poker runs and Ice races on my LT250R and I did pretty good and talk about mud Im heavier than most riders so I get better traction in mud pits and if you do get stuck you can throw the ass end out of the ruts you dug. But I am heavier and that is definatly one thing holding me back from competing and my bad leg I dont think it would make a whole series. Truth is I have more fun riding the Banshee than any 4 stroke in woods races. Ive wood raced alot and I still do while its not sancioned its alot of fun and it is growing and I always rode 2 strokes. Now that I have the Banshee I like it even better than my LT250R.You would think the 250r has more useable power but I dont think it holds a stick to the awsome power of the Banshee. I get a feeling of pure addrenilin when Im busting corners in 2nd and mid 3rd then hitting a curve section and gasing it. Nothing beats it. I never get out of 3rd-4th half throttle gear in a woods race on the banshee but the power and the feeling that power delivers to me every time is what keeps me on the Banshee. Call me hardheaded call me what you will but it is my prefrence and the pros outweigh the cons. I am throwing a bunch of money into it to get it to handle better and I am trying to get more low end out of it and Im sure by the time Im done my needs will be met and youll always see me out there on my Banshee. When I do buy a four stroke its going to be strictly for cruising around and playing on but I never did and I cant see ever having more fun on one than I do the 2 strokes espicaly the Banshee. -
Definatly get yourself a Noss Head with some 21-17cc domes to help with cooling and add compression for a much stronger running motor. Wake your powerband up and add some HP & TQ. There are a few variables. What elevation do you ride at? Do you want to stay with pump gas or are you willing to run race fuel? Also while you have your motor apart I suguest shelling out the 80-90 dollars to get your stock crank welded so it can stand up better and you can add alot of compression and timing without worrying about it comming apart on you. These are factors you have to think about before choosing a dome size. PM David Noss on here dlnoss his website is www.NossMachine.com He will answer any question you have. Wiesco Pro Lite pistons are the piston of choice they are very strong pistons that have a long life.

I feel for MX/Wheelies you cannot beat the PT MIDS. They are leaps and bounds better than the FMF. The FMF Might have a little bit over the PT MIDS On top but the mids pull so much harder in the low/mid range and still have some on top its not even fair to compare. I think the mids pull some harder then the 916s and they dont fall off as fast. The 916s have more low end than any other pipe. They (Mids) are perfect for wheelie control and they dont rev like a son of a bitch (like the Toomeys) so its a smoother power transition from landing a jump and then having to corner on an MX Track.

stock motor to good low and sweet powerband hit
Washburn replied to JET 99's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
That is one sweet setup you have. Power and Elkas to handle all of that power  . Cant go wrong there. Give us all a report on how you like the motor/LT Arms- Suspention package. Set them as soft as you can and do a few laps then set them as stiff as you can do more laps then go rite in the middle do laps all on the same terrain and setup from there and you will be faster than everybody else  Do you ride any motocross or is it all recreational riding you do? -
Noss Head with domes you have to figure out how small you want to go with a stock crank without the extra weld. If you go to small 18cc or lower you are putting your crank at risk of seperating on you. a Noss Head with 21-20cc domes are fine for a stock crank and pump gas. Timing can be a factor for higher octane as well. Talk to David Noss he goes by dlnoss on here and his website is www.nossmachine.com Jeff FASTOYS on here also sells Noss Head and V Force reeds his website is www.farmandsandtoys.com Im at about 1800 feet above sea level and I run a Noss Head with 20cc domes on straight 93 pump gas (no porting stock crank factory welds) TR6 pipes, V Force 3 reeds, 300 main jets 25 piolet jets needle on the 3rd clip and Im kicking 150psi in each cylinder as soon as I put my timing plate in at +4 I will probably end up putting 1 gallon of VP110 to 4 gallons of 93.

what to get son atv for birthday
Washburn replied to jesse1004's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Definatly. They are never to young to learn and starting them off at that age is almost guarenteing a first place spot in a pro class whatever style race he chooses. Tell your wife there is a throttle limiter so you can jog along side the bike to make sure he learns where he breaks and gas are. I know women dont respond well to things like this heh, but she will be happy your jogging and getting in shape  50cc is the perfect starter bike. Quads are like shoes when they are young though they out grow them so fast. -
Are you guys updating the myspace page? It said error or something. Oh welcome aboard good to see you guys here. I just visited your website and Im seriously looking at buying some stuff. 4130 chromeoly

Yeah mine look like the power reeds. The corners are rounded off and stick out just a hair. I never really seen stock reeds are they made out of the same material as the boyesen? Yeah I definatly dont have the rad valve but it was recomended for less money than the V3S with my stock Banshee and it does look like a wicked piece.
-
Do any of you guys have pics of the Boyesen reeds mounted to your stock cages? Im wondering because I bought the V3S and took mine out then I needed new Intakes so I bought a set off of a fellow HQer and he said he had Boyesen Reeds on stock cages (He said he was 99% sure they were Boyesens) so I bought them too and they were Identical to the ones I pulled out of my bike. I bought my bike used with pipes and a few other mods so Im not sure. Then I seen a set of boyesens mounted on ebay and they were totaly diffrent. Can anyone help me out here?
-
I agree 100%. Anyone can port a bike take your money shake your hand and rebuild it when it fries. Thats what alot of builder/Porters do. Its a truely "GREAT" Builder that puts reliability into the equation by countering every HP mod with a Reliability mod Will you ever have the reliability of a stock motor not likely but it can be close if you put in aftermarket components and MANTAIN. Then I factor in what kind of port jobs said builder does most of. I wouldnt feel comfterble sending my motor to get done by a builder that does mostly drag motors. Its the builders interpertation/style of speed and preformance that is how your motor will turn out. I want my 4mil woods motor done next winter and my builder is booked when I want it done. If I cant find a builder who can tell me what he told me he will do without me saying it first then I will wait the extra 4 or so months to have it build by him. There are plenty of good builders out there that dont and probably never will have their names in highly read magazines but that doesnt mean they cant build a motor to your riding specs just as good as the brand namers. As far as the F.A.S.T./Passions debate in here goes I personaly have heard great things about both of them. Jeff and Jim both re obviously top notch engine builders. You people trying to ""Help" (You know who you are) are only hurting Im not the only ne who thinks this.

Yup, you might be able to squese a few more HP out of a K&N but you will also suck in all sorts of other shit. They are good for dirt riding only and can still bog up from to much dust. I prefer the UNI foam filters with the Bel Ray foam filter oil and the UNI Spray cleaner. I also run my airbox with the lid on and 12 1" holes cut in the lid with 1" filters for better air flow and it keeps every thing out. Thats the safest way to go about things.
