  1. i thik the more common issue with RS is those screws stipping out when trying to set the gap.
  2. yea do it right if u have the time and tools. i got lucky with the penny and plates. but i was out where i didnt have tools so i had no othr choice... the tool looks like a vice grip with two bent metal bars on it... you clamp it down to the innre hub and put the nut on... no slip no broken parts lol
  3. don call jeff at FAST he has the magnum baskets for like 155
  4. pretty much any cycle shop that sells atv shit can gt it for you... the most common one is made by motion pro
  5. u got a pretty good deal on those kaos...
  6. also if you have any porting you have to redo it casue the new sleeves wont match
  7. i used it on mine and it held. dont know what to tell you...
  8. look at this pict... the plates have the small notches on them that will hold the inner from spinning
  9. if your motor is out the ezest thing to do is go buy the tool. i want to say its like 20 buks. pop it on and tighten it down... thwey are good to have either way...
  10. the penny will work... you put your old plates in and tighten the nut... the replace the old plates with the new ones...
  11. you talking about the nut in the center of the basket? ... you can put a pnny in the gears and do it... or you can get old plates and make a tool out of them to hold the inner hub and basket while you tighten it down...
  12. any carbs can run alky, you jut need to have the powerjets installed. but its kind stupid to put alky in that motor... for the small amount of power increase tha alky will give you on that motor you can get MUCH more power out of porting pipes crank ....
  13. from the looks im going to hav to get new... i was just seeing if anyone had some used ones that i could get for cheaper.. one of those things that i dont worry about getting used.
  14. any reason in particular you want to swicth to alky? on a stock bike your not going to gain as much power as say porting or pipes, at the cost of burning double the amount of fuel and oil for the small amount of power gained doesnt seem logical for that motor.
  15. thats the most common. are your air screws the same? jets the same? carbs clean?
  16. i havent seen him on here in a while. i bought a +6 from him right when he started his divorce. but i wasnt too plesed with the worksmanship of it and sold it but either way he got it shipped right out to me. not sure whats goingon right now with yours.
  17. only issue with riding at night this time of the year in glamis... there has been TONS apon TONS of people riding everywhere creating ruts and holes... at night time your going to have a bitch of a time spotting these until its too late.
  18. BUMP anyone?
  19. jeff sells them
  20. Brad, maybe im reading his posts differantly then you are. cause from what im getting , he is saying that a forged piston expeands more yes. it also contracts more yes. but the CAST will deform? it will take on a differant shape? and wont return to it same demintions once it contracts? is this what your saying mark?
  21. what ^^^he said^^^ also if your running a hinson pressure plate they have a new lockup so you dont have to mod the plate too...
  22. its all personal prefferance.... what are you trying to get out of the motor? what kind of riding? super cubs willl cost you omre money in the end to get the same power as a large cub setup or cheetah setup. talk to Majicmike, he can fill you ion with his testing with the supers
  23. to do a leak down, leave spark plugs in, remove your exhaust and plug them. remove carbs. plug them. one of the carb sides has the gauge one has the pump. you only want to build 6 lbs for a leak down test. and let it sit. if after 6 mins you still have 6lbs your good. click on RNBrad link in my sig he shows how to make a differant tester with a medical bulb. problem with using compressors is if you add too much pressure your going to blow your seals
  24. yes thats the cyinders also. Wicked, do a little research about the super cubs. you might find that there are several reason to stick with a normal cub setup or go cheetah.
  25. thats way too much time wioth one lamp... what do those things run? hell you might be better off just getting a big ass industrial over from a old resturant. how long did it take to cure one spot with that lamp?
