  1. You had a leak or wrong jetting or something then. There is no way on earth running any premix oil at 24:1 that it was the cause of a bearing failure. I and many others have ran Yamalube for years with no issues. And We run it at 36:1 Everyone is entitled to thier opinion, but you are passing garbage info IMO. Fouling plugs has nothing to do with what brand oil your running. It is your jetting. If you kept fouling your plug, then you needed to lean your motor out. Plain and simple.
  2. Not really sure. Mine doesn't make any differant sounds hot or cold. I haven't noticed mine kicking in to high idle either though... My truck is kind of wierd. When I was in San Diego and it was 50 degree in the am, my grid heater would come on. But that same year when I went to Omaha and it was like 10 degrees it didn't.
  3. I have the Cascade "stuffers" but like with everything else, they came with a few additional mods at the same time so I can't say they did or didn't change anything.
  4. Fords wait 60 secs before they engauge though right?
  5. That's good ol' Inland ATV standing behind thier products for you! Snap a pict and post it up of the webbing and the rods. The only true way to tell is to messure the piston travel.
  6. When I first bought my bike, I purchased a Boysen RAD valve. Everything was bone stock minus pipes. I installed the RAD valve, and I noticed a much nicer throttle response. I then removed the airbox lid and rejetted and it got a little more crisp. On a stock bik I could tell a pretty good improvment. As for numbers I have none. All of mine are in the pants changes. After I rebuilt my motor I made a TON of changes all at once. One fo them being VF3. I can not say how much it made a differance becasue it came in at the same time as many other changes. One thing I have noticed is my reeds still look brand new. The reeds on my RAD valve started to look a little beatup with only 1 1/2 seasons on them. If I had my dad's old flow bench when we raced I could do a flow meter test and give numbers but he sold that thing years ago.
  7. I asked about this on a Dodge forum I'm on. This is the respones I got: 2nd gen trucks can do that. Our 3rd gen don't need it. When temp is around or below 0 ECM will change injection timing and events. Truck will idle at 1000rpm, and it will sound different than normal. As soon as you touch the brake pedal it will return to normal
  8. Usually after the rains the sand is better. It helps to get rid of alot of rough areas out there, and packs it down so there isn't insane amounts of dust in the washes at night.
  9. When I ran Yamalube, I was paying around 7 dollars for a bottle. It could be picked up at almost every motorcycle shop in town. No one carried Klotz. When I switched to Alky, I had to get my oil from Sandtoysunlimited unless I wanted to order it online. So add shipping and the cost for oil was looking around 15 bucks for a bottle. (plus or minus depending on where it was being shipped to.)
  10. 100% DISAGREE! Yamalube is great oil for most gas uses. For Alky Klotz Super Techniplate. As with most things, favorite oils are like assholes. Everyone's got one. As long as you go with a quality oil you can't go wrong. But I don't see the sense in spending more on a "Top Shelf" oil that offers no better protection than others at a small cost to your wallet.
  11. Buy your self a sawed off and a sleeping bag and camp in there with your bike. Crush a few light bulbs and spread the glass around the door and window so they make noise when they walk in so you wake up.
  12. That sounds odd. You don't have a cam or anything in there? I have an 06 and it idles near 1k normally but sounds nothing like that hot or cold.... Also if your truck was flashed with the high idle feature from the dealer before you bought it, you should be able to bump it up to the max of 1500 rpms using your cruise control... make sure your ebrake is on or some of them dont work.
  13. Same. I had a few big misses with my twist. With the limited suspension travel on these bike, they can very easily get away from you when you can't control the throttle as well. Look at an extended throttle and lightening the springs and you will notice a big differance.
  14. When I got back from deployment it took my carbs all the way apart and cleaned them with a small wire brush and carb cleaner. I popped out the floats and needles and removed all the jets and cleaned all the ports really well. Not sure if they needed it or not, but I figured after nearly a year of sitting it wouldn't hurt.
  15. His motor mounts are stock. It's an older J-Arm frame, that why it looks differant.
  16. Over reving a motor will more likely throw a bearing or casue a piston to stick because the motor isnt jetted properly then to bend a rod, but anything can happen. It takes a TON of pressure to bend a rod. He would have to have the motor hydrolock on him more than likely to cause it to bend.
  17. 300 dosnt sound too bad. Most motor builders can get it done for less than you can going directly to the place.
  18. Not to mention that no piston manufacture I have ever seen gives any suggested tolerances for squish. Just make sure that who ever you get your domes from has them properly cut for the crown angle and desired squish. If you have a local builder, have him check the pistons and cylinders to insure they are matched.
  19. Tolerances being ring gap, piston to wall talerances ect. You can't put a piston in a hole without giving it room for expansion or your going to blow the motor. Each manufacture is differant depending on what metals are used. There should be info on the website to tell you the tolerances.
  20. I recall conversations about the Dyna "Stock" setting having something like 9-13 degrees at max RPM over the stock CDI. I can not say that it is true, but I remember having a conversation either here or atvdragracers about it a long time ago.
  21. WSM are good. They need to have the proper tolerances set just ike any piston. There are a few "Big Name" builders that use them.
  22. I wouldn't trust any website that isn't ran by your local or state law enforcement. When push comes to shove, the website is not going to keep your bike from being taken away or you being put n jail if it is hot.
  23. where r u from? if your state requires offroad vehicles to e registered, the rightful owner can always gte a duplicate title from the state.
