  1. I did not noticed the fuel consumption being twice what it was. Although I havent got to ride it alot on alky. I guess I should have stated that it would a be 40% increase in fuel consumption to make it more clear what I was trying to say. 100% more fuel would mean that you have used 2 times the original amount, wouldn't it? If you used 1 gallon before, and now your using 100% you would be using 2 gallons. So 40% more would mean you use the original amount plus 40% additional or 1.4gallons???
  2. I cant say how much MPG you gain using ethonal over meth, but with meth you can look at using about 40% more fuel.... But the power gains are substantually larger then switching to race gas.... You will need to convert your carbs and add power jets. Depending o what kind of carbs your running it might be more cost effective to buy a set that are ready to go and sell your gassers...
  3. Geko Rd. to the Train tracks where the store is at is a few miles. Don't be fooled by the guy that says the winds are constantly changing the dunes. Yes they blow in and "smooth" the dunes out. But thats only the tops. There will be so much whoops and ruts that the wind is not going to fix them over night. I used to live in Glamis when I was in San Diego and trust me there is no mirical wind that blows through and turns the place into a winter wonderland. Pres Weekend will be kind of like the end of the major crowds for the rest of the year. After that they will start petering out and will not be as crowded. If you do decide to camp in the washes try to go to wash 14 or past. The dust from everyone riding will settle in the washes towards the front of the dunes and make it so you can hardly breathe sometimes. The dunes are huge. There will be plenty of places that are still smooth, but any of the areas that gather crowds and the flats in between those areas will be retardedly rough. I will check ym GPS tomorrow to see if I still have the coords to some of the spot you might want to checkout. There is also a website that has a arial photo with the points marked and grids to things to checkout as well, but I don't remember what the site is.
  4. Brawley is the closest town with lodging. There is not many options of where to stay and they fill up fast. You would have to ride across I-8 before you could ride into Mexico, and there is a fence, but yes the Imperial Dunes do extend into Mexico. I would say your best bet is trying to rent one of those trailers they bring to you. You will spend just as much if not more in fuel hauling a camper that far. One thing that’s going to suck is going late in the year like that it is going to be rutted to high hell! After Thanksgiving, we never went back because it was so bad. More than 1/3 of the whole area is closed down for "temporary" environmental restoration bs... that started like 13 years ago. Stupid fucking hippies.
  5. Ahh yes... the FW puller is the left handed thread. I knew somthing was... See told you it's been awhile since I messed with my bike
  6. it's a reverse threaded nut if I recall correcty. Sorry it's been awhile since I have messed with my bike.
  7. Thats what you will need running at sea level, then adjust for temps.
  8. Where do you live at? If your somewhere that it freezes frequently, I would say just to be safe flush it out and make sure you get as much Engine Ice in there as you can. If you live down souht, I would say don't worry about it. And ditch the Engine Ice and get your self a bottle of Redline Water Wetter and a gallon of Distilled water. The only major differance in the two is the Engine Ice has freeze protectant where Wter Wetter does not.
  9. There is nothing wrong with getting a second hander as long as it works. Buy it from a member on here thats parting his bike if your worried about ebay. I have a Dyna and I am going to pull it off and put my stocker back on here shortly for the very reason Dajogejr said. When I was running a relitivly stock bike I could feel a differance from stock to curve setting 3 but I couldn't tell you how much of a gain it was. Never put it on a dyno or anything. Just stick with a stocker, and spend your money else where. BTW what part of Austrailia are you in?
  10. When my tranny blowup mine did this. Check the kicker gears first and if they are good, check your tranny.
  11. your going to need 310 mains, 27.5 pilots, 2.5 turns on your air screw, and I want ot say 4th clip on the stock needle.
  12. sounds like your seat needle is sticking. Pull it out and reclean it.
  13. YEs tighten them in sequence. 10 - 15 - 20 lbs Do your heat cycles then retorque them.
  14. It has been a long time since I filled my bike up so I can't remember how much it took but do this. When you flush your system out, drop the lower rad line and empty it, then blow through it with the rad cap on and this will push the fluid out of your motor where the hose hooks out on the clutch cover. This will get everything (or close to it) out. Then just top off the rad and run it for a few mins and check it again.
  15. an extended thumb throttle would also be a good idea on top of snipping a few coils off the springs.
  16. 11hp from changing to E-85 and more timing? I don't want to sound like an asshole but I don't believe that for a minute. You sure you didn't forget that you also had it ported when you made those other changes?
  17. The final product will only look as good as the quality of prep work put into it. Make sure you take your time preping them and the outcome will look great.
  18. the picts will do you no help. You need to know the port timing and transfer angles and sizes for any of it to make any differance. None of that will show by looking at a pict. All your going to see is if the person that ported it had a steady hand or not.
  19. the rubber boot is not the probly. there is a plastic shroud inside there that will met if they put it in the oven. I have heard some guys say they baked them and nthnig happened, while others did not have that same luck. I would say try and scrape a few hunder $$$ and buy your self a set of after markets. I can't say for sure but I think Stellar has some pretty cheap duner style arms that come bare. Might check him out and see.
  20. nothing can be done with them. The only way you can ure the PC without compromising your balljoints on stock arms is to use lamps instead of a oven. If you have the extra $$$ now would be the time to grb some after market a arms. You can get some used ones for prettycheap.
  21. Look aroudn that site. Not everything is cheap. 4mil Hotrods crank $586.00 No thanks.
  22. I hate it when my oil makes my tires go flat!
  23. All those ads are for 4 strokes because thats all that will be made from now on. This doesn't mean that the exhisting banshee aftermarket manufactures are up and gone. Most of the guys making 4 stroke stuff never were making parts for Banshees.
