  1. post some pics or a vid............. if you try to tackle it.. i would like to see some of the mods you would end up doing. coolant capacity? exhaust? front sprocket-chain-rear drive sprocket alignment? if you try to center the shee motor in the frame i bet you find your rear sprocket is outside your swingarm width.. (motor offset?) exhaust can you tig weld? cause you need to fab up some one of a kind shit that flows correctly.. extra weight load on front forks (heavier motor) frame modification. motor mount tabs,cyl head clearence,type of air filter setup,throttle cable length(might be way off).... it would be wicked but like alky said ------------------------ good fabricator skills required!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. one of my favorite places to go............... rode my shee in tennesse on labor day weekend pulled the motor out and sent to jeff on oct 19th.. should be back the by middle of next week.. hopefully soon i will get out there... maybe see ya out there some time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jim :beer:
  3. i got my call from him this afternoon................ my motor and a box of goodies is on it way ................ its friggin xmas in january.............. f----n aaaaaaaa i took a few pics of suspension need to get posted im gonna try to take a few as shee goin back together if i can remember to stop and take pics... he is the man when it comes to customer relation...........

    ASR Arms

    the position of the lower shock mount has nothing to do with +2+1 on your a arms.. the length of the shock versus were your shock mount is located on the lower arm detrmines what you should put on your arms. hell call asr with the length of the shock you want to run see what the say. if they want your repeat business and a good reputation they should give you an answer....

  6. didnt see any topics on it (did search)................................. when removing tors i cut out the wires going from the wiring harness to the switches on the carbs.... cleaned up the harness alittle. the thumb throttle has a wiring harness for tors infront of cable took that out also along with switch in housing.... now got a hole in housing?????????????? well they make the little rubber grommet (with outta hole) out of aluminum for 35.00 f-that got to thinking..................... black rtv silicone might work well 3.75 later and a small tube 6 hour cure time before i pulled it off of the hard clear plastic wrap of tube package..... presto i now have no hole in the flexable rubber grommet and dont look really noticable unless i point it out to someone......... saved 35.00 and probably some on shipping... sealed up throttle housing ....no dirt gonna get in,no ugly wiring coming out, seems to be a good fix :beer:

  9. little update to this thread................. just got done installing this mod............. feels good for just being able to push up and down.... no motor yet..... one point of concern........................ the spring diameter is huge.. i am running the stock swinger . up at the gussets behind the pivot bearing tube there maybe a clearence issue.. at full extension there is only about .050 clearence between spring and the outer radius of the gusset... least little wear in shock eye???????????? cant wait to get it going i did take pics and will try to post over weekend :beer:
  10. figured i would try to keep up with where i am at on my rebuild............... new bumper installed... ac race changing over alloy boltz set... elka rear shock hung on frame... link bearings pressed in.... link hanging on frame... just got done replacing swing arm bearings tonight (think they were 1999 vintage) amazing how steel needles can turn to red dust.. ive only owned for a couple years so i have been replacing stuff as i go gonna re hang swinger and hopefully take some pics tommorow motor should be back from jeff in a few days wanna get the rear suspension done before the motor gets back!!!! ive got a nice little box of toys from jeff coming also.. work is a bitch right now.. 10-12 hrs 7 day sched.. but i sent motor off the end october and i really want to get it all back in one piece.. it should run like a raped ape for mx/play and have a good suspension.... up front i would like to thank all those who give valid useful information on the HQ wish me luck and no fu-ups i will try and get some pics before i start putting back together.. who knows maybe it will help some one
  11. i think there is a gap to maintain between the stator and the flywheel ................................ you have a clymers i would assume somebody will probably chime in but i think its on here if you searched and i think its in the clymers.

  13. ok here ya go......... questions for you................ what type of riding will you be doing....... a duner aint good on trails/trails aint gonna have the dune potental. ask yourself what kinda suspension are you gonna need???????? the mods you start with if well planned out will be alot cheaper on you later if you choose them correctly.. pipes & jetting air filter... first mod remove tors carb reeds intake mods.... head compression mods.... crank true&weld (piece of mind) porting,clutch(h.p.gain) serious dune / hill climb lock up clutch, shift mod,swinger mods, suspension mods. oils are subject to opinions... they are like assholes ............. everyones got them just some or more palatable than others...

  15. you cannot just bolt the cr500 link up to a banshee frame or a banshee swinger ........ elka just came out with a link that uses a long tavel shock that bolts up to a stock frame and a banshee swinger............. the cr500 link is hooked to a special frame($$$$$) and swinger($$$$$$) designed for long trave if you are curious or want it the post mentioned below has a link to atvgalaxy they will ask rider weight,riding style,the typical setup questions. check out the post in suspensions

  19. if you are asking about the setting on a multi meter. the omega sign is resistence measured in ohm's **no power** checks circuit for short (low resistance) or open (high or infinite resistance).. the V w/wave is ac voltage.... alternating voltage checks voltage in ac form. depending on your meter is the range limit (polarity of leads shouldnt matter. red and black). the V w/-- is dc voltage..... direct current voltage " " dc form." "(polarity is a factor + is positive(red) - is negative(black).your display might read -12volts if your lead are reversed when actually it opposite.. if your not sure when looking at electrical print either get someone that really can read a diagram to help you in person.. talk to someone who is really knowledgable on a banshee( such as engine builder or a couple of the guys on here) best thing would be walk you through it while on the phone... you cant mess up to much on the banshee but you could blow your meter......... and a phone call to jeff would get you the correct flywheel puller and the info you desire on your elect issues
  20. i have triple rates with 17.5 frm eye to eye.. they are black and red (elka colors) they were pricey i sure in the hell hope they are elkas ... and the box said elka on the side..... :beer: jim
  21. the impact driver is your friend .............. all of the phillips head or (cross tip) can be easily loosened on your shee some take a tap some take a smack but you will not screw up the head of screw or bolt when using impact driver good investment on tools to work on banshee or other atvs/dirtbikes. with the right adapter you should be able to use sockets also. jim
  22. that is part of the fine details that seem to escape the customer service part of ebay shopping.......... alot of times it is better to expect to get all new components that attach or pivot in whatever it is your replacing. unless your dealing with a person truely familar with what they are doing..... they are not going to offer or tell you what all goes on or with the part to complete it.. clymers and a little bit of reading will save you alot of :: in the long run........ (look at parts diagram and see what all is in that assy) it may be aftermarket but it still has to do the same function or action (hopefully better) hope you catch what im saying, just my 2 pennies
  23. mine went oct 19th and i am psyched about putting it all back together.... bad thing is no toy to ride.... extra time to work...........extra money to spend on hhhmmmm????? banshee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no woman to nag at me or find something else to spend it on so.............. lets go apeshit................. motor build ended up being............................. motor carbs yadadyadayada... new plastic new bolt set rear shock and link trail tech lights new seat cover new front bumper i have c series rims didnt know any better..(aint broke one yet) i like hyperlites though....cha---ching$$$$$$aint spending on them yet....... it doesnt end ever does it???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  24. well i signed up for one............ sounds like it should be coming in bout same time motor is coming back from kansas.......... washburn dont know if it makes a diff but the laegers i got are l.t. along w+2+1........ got l.t. trip rates on front gonna have dual rate l.t. in the back.......... should be sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin:
  25. if you decide on a banshee ............. welcome to your new addiction!!!!!!!!!!! it doesn't rot your teeth out like meth or crack,it will have an effect on your wallet. it can get you just as high,but doesnt cause you to give up everything you own. you could end up in the hospital if you abuse either one! if you dont wear a lid i guess you could f... up your grill like meth........ just a thought :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: WELCOME.............................
