I was in the same situation as you a couple of years ago. I had FMF Fattys & ride only sand. I went with Trinity stage 4 pipes (inframe) & have been very happy with the results. You will have to switch to a diff. needle at least I did as they tend to prefer a jjh needle. They are better quality, fit bettter, & won't rust while your down on the beach. They have just one side effect & that's price. They are definately a little more higher end pipe than the FMF's but not to the point to where that's all you have.

In my humble opinion, I think it's been WAY too long since a lot of you guys have rode a STOCK banshee. I've owned a banshee for 12 years now & for the sand there really is no substitute & I don't think I will ever get rid of mine. 2 years ago I bought a brand new 05 banshee right out of the box. It was a real eye opener as it won't get out of it's own way. The powerband or what there is of one hits early & peaks even quicker...think about it how many people on here are still running there stock exhaust? Must be a reason for that! It sucks. I have to laugh when I here people talk smack about the Raptor saying how slow it is & how tall it is etc... when stock for stock the Raptor will beat the shit out of the banshee & not look back. The Raptor is just like any other bike including the banshee, it benefits a lot from mods like swingarms, pipes, intake, tune/ jetting & so on. With my riding group you generally see 1 of 2 bikes a Raptor or a banshee, so I've had lots of experience with both doing racing, hillclimbing, jumping... & like I said to me there is no substitute for a banshee in the sand but if both bikes were STOCK I would probably lean towards the Raptor. Below I have posted 2 pics. of my bikes with the hopes of getting one of those free alignment checks.

Your crank seals are blown causing compression to enter into the crankcase thus pressurizing it & forcing oil out the breather. Been there done that. I'm afraid it's time to split the cases.

The time has come. Got my sh#$ packed & will be leaving wed. morn. Chase me down (if you can) :yelrotflmao: if anyone's planning on going down. Later, Chad

I haven't been riding in awhile (building a house takes a lot of time) so my dad & I are going to Coos Bay on 6-13 through the 6-17. We'll be staying at the KOA in Hauser. Feel free to stop by & go for a ride as I'm always looking for new people to ride with as most of my friends are either to busy to ride (like me lately) or selling their bikes. I will be on one of these & my Dad will be on a Honda 400Ex. Chad

Well let me start by saying I did not trade the banshee in on this. I went out & got myself a Raptor (another one) for my all around bike. I'll ride this pretty much everywhere, trails, logging roads, dunes, etc.... The banshee is sand only. I just brought it home yesterday so at this point I've only got one ride in & wow this thing has an assload of torque. Obviously a completely different bike than the banshee but still fun to ride. 2007 Yamaha Raptor SE U[RL=http://imageshack.us][/url] Anybody want an 2001 Raptor that has been cared for not abused & has never had a tranny or starter clutch or any other problem?

newbie here...where should i start?
sandman replied to qboronyrican's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Sounds like you should be around 300 for mains to me. Welcome to the HQ. -
Actually I am ported along with a shaved head .035 & V-force 2 reeds I'm running 175ish on jets. I would say 150-160 with no porting.

When I got my 28's they came with a N68A needle which worked well with my Fattys but not worth a damn with my Trinitys. I switched to jjh needle when I got my trinity's & it seems to be much better. I believe the jjh needle is the prefered needle. All you can do is try the one you got but if it doesn't act right (once you jet it) at around 1/4 throttle you may want to switch.

Problem with 1.5qts of oil during change?
sandman replied to imflyinbiya's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
What he said^ I also tip the bike up on one side with blocks just to get every bit that I can out. I usually end up putting 1.75 quarts in it & it will register right on the full mark anytime that I check it before a ride. -
Well we covered all the other metals & platings so how bout stainless Trinity's. Clicky clicky!

Jetting 28mm Keihins on a mostly stock bike
sandman replied to LiftdT4R's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I've ran 28mm keihn pwk's for several years now & I would agree that you're looking at 150-160 on mains. I run around a 175 but have a mild port & shaved head with trinity stage 4 pipes. As far as the needle is concerned, go with the jjh needle. I had fmf pipes before & was running a N68A needle which worked great with my previous setup however the trinity pipes did not agree with this at all. I've switched over to the jjh needle & all is well again. If your PT mids don't like the jjh needle you might try a different one like the N68A. The carbs are great, you'll love them. -
Due to the temps being somewhat cold I would say your gonna be around 310 for a main jet & I'd go 2 turns out on the screws. With that said it's best if you maybe start out by running a slightly larger jet so you can dial it in from the rich side, to be safe.

Damn, I need to go riding bad. Coos Bay gets my vote but all are good. I would have to say that St. Anthonys is the best hands down though. I'll watch the riding events forum for the next big group ride & make a trip down there to Ore.

Got this one from Quicksand MS. Clicky, Clicky!

I have to agree, Ebay is getting a little to greedy. I sold a lot of stuff on there when I was parting out my old bike & selling new useless stock parts off my new one but I think those days are about over. I still have a few parts left but may look to sell those either on here or on craigslist. There's just something I don't like about people who have insanely large amounts of money raising prices (fees) towards those of us that are just an average middle class joe.

I have a 7X14 encl. trailer & you cannot get 3 quads in it. Both my bikes are extended but my Dad & I tried getting his stock 400ex in there sideways & could not do it. You would have to somehow get them in there sideways & we were unable to turn them around once inside the trailer nor could we shimmy them in sideways due to the narrowness of the door opening. If you want to haul 3 bikes you need an 8 ft. wide trailer. Then they will go in straight & side by side. Click on image

Oh yeah, I see you took off the airbox lid to the filter. This is a bad idea unless you have an adapter plate as the lid actually holds the filter in place. It's a bad design but until you get the parts to get around it you need to leave the lid on so the filter stays in place.

That sounds like bad news. You should be running 280's or something close to that if your somewhere around sea level. I would start by putting in 2 brand new plugs with 280 main jets & I would check your slides in your carbs to make sure that you didn't get them in backwards after changing the jets the first couple of times (very common mistake). If I remember correctly the cutaway portion on the bottom of the slide should be facing the rear of the bike. Somebody will correct me on here if I'm wrong. Good luck.

Hey Luis check this out. www.atvracing1.com J arm to A arm conversion kit $189. You will have to weld it in or have someone do it . This in my opinion would be the best way to go.

Cascade does have great products & service. And from my experience in the ATV aftermarket world, this is a rare thing.
