I currently have a pro design billet intake with 2 k&n pods along with 28mm. carbs (no airbox) I need to replace the rubber carb boots as they are starting to crack. I can't find anybody that sells just the rubber boots for these intakes however did come across the Boss intakes which are sold with built in crossover tubes & with no crossover tube at all. I have also seen the pro design intakes advertised for delta v force reed cages as they must be machined differently to accept the delta cages. I'm running Delta v force 2's so was curious as to whether the boss intakes are able to accept the Deltas. Finally what exactly is the difference between having a crossover tube & not having one at all? How does the bike act differently? I woldn't mind getting rid of the exposed crossover tube as it rubs on my fuel line & pretty much just gets in the way. P.S. I got rid of the pro design boost bottle that normally comes with these intakes because it took up to much room. I made a slight modification allowing me to use the stock yamaha crossover tube. Thanks, Chad

If it's for sand then the obvious choice has to be the shee. It has the best power characteristics of any bike ever made when it comes to sand. Now if you were thinking of riding it in trails or track then I would have a diff. answer, but the shee is made for the sand, end of story.

What he said^ Especially #1, 2, & 4

I've changed crank seals twice, once in an old engine when they failed & in a brand new engine after having the crank welded & did not use any sealant on the seal itself & have never had any problems with those installations. I do however put a film of grease on the inside of the seal where the crank protrudes through.

Fatty pipes and Turbine Core 2 silencers.
sandman replied to Master of Faster's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
SOLD! I'll take the pipes & polished Turb. cores. PM me price shipped to 98541 along with your paypal address. Also do you have the FMF bolts & most importantly the aluminum collars for mounting the silencers? Thanks, Chad -
For me it's all about the engine. There is no other bike that has the power characteristics that a banshee has. The power characteristics is what makes this bike so much fun to ride especially in sand. As far as old technology goes, well like fireroad express says there are so many aftermarket parts for these things you can replace any of that old tech with new tech to make it just like you want. I recently went out & picked up a used 06 shee so I would have one to ride around on dirt with, simply for a diff. flavor instead of riding my 700 Raptor. Unfortunately most people don't think this way however, because I am seeing a lot less banshees everytime I go to the dunes & a lot more 4 pokes.

George, Definately keep me posted on this trip as I would be interested in going. I've got a 7x14 cargo trailer that I tow with my 1/2 ton p/u which will hold 2 quads & then usually fill the bed of the truck with gas cans, firewood, cooler etc... I'd hate to see you go it all alone as the only Shee in the group. Where do you guys stay at when you go down there as we usually stay at the KOA or just camp in the dunes in the designated sites. Either way it helps if you can reserve well in advance, trust me ( been going there since I was 13 yrs. old...34 now. I usually just sleep in the cargo trailer (poor mans toy hauler) as I have over the years moved up from the tent. Chances are I would probably head down earlier in the week as it is a long way to go for just a couple of days of riding but either way hit me up with some dates when you guys get her hashed out. I'm from the Olympia area & do most of my duning at either Coos Bay or Winchester. Never been to moses lake but from what I've heard it doesn't justify the run over there. However I have thought about stopping there on my way back from St. Anthony's some time, that is assuming I can organize another ride over there. I love to ride & would ride every day if I could but unfortunately a lot of my friends are either selling there bikes or are to busy to ride anymore so making a long trip somewhere is getting harder & harder to do. Same here. It's not to expensive, easy to find (honda dealer) & found that it stays cleaner longer than Bel Ray gear saver. I also got 13 years out of my factory clutch before it started to slip on a modded bike. I just recently parted that bike & engine out & the internals looked new still...It was a 1990.

Answer "nova bolt" mx helmet XXL

Sounds like a 2001. The 2002's had a black tank shroud with a silver radiator plastic. 2001 was all white plastic except black around tank & radiator. This is a good example of an 2001: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_ATVs__2001...A1%7C240%3A1318

Lets do a Bansheehq calendar!

This is an Answer helmet that came with a 2006 banshee I recently purchased. The bike had 15 hours on it when I bought it & presume the helmet has the same by looking at it. It is in excellent shape & matches up well with the 06 white/silver banshees. It is a size XXL 63-64 cm. There are a few light marks on the back from a flag whip that are light enough that the camera doesn't even pick up & would probably rub out. It is a 9 out of 10. Price $70 shipped.

bottom end parts for sale, t-6 pipes
sandman replied to majorcr3's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
PM sent on pipes -
Sounds like you've had better luck with them than I. I ran them up to about 4 years ago & they were nothing but problems. Another prob. I had with them is one of the spring loops on the pipe was welded on to close to the head end of the pipe so you could simply take your spring & hook it with your fingers. Of course it didn't stay there for long before it fell off. It's shit like this that scares me to death to go out & buy another set.

Thanks man. So did you stay with the same needle (stock) & pilot jet? I won't be able to run pods as it is a little wet here in Wash. st but would probably just remove the snorkel & maybe put in a few air box vents. I've already installed a pro design adapter & K&N filter in the box.

So I recently bought a like new 06 shee that was bone stock & am looking to put a set of pipes on it. I can't decide between Fattys or T6's. I've ran Fatty's before & was very pleased with the power characteristics but was very dissapointed with the quality or lack there of ( mounts not welded on straight causing broken pipe mounts, 2 pipes cracked on the expansion chamber, I could go on but won't.) The T6's I have never run but through searching on here they seem to be very comparable pipes as far as there power characteristics are concerned that being a good midrange pipe(correct me if I' wrong). I'm looking for something similar to the FMF Fatty but not made by FMF. Now I've heard that T6's are not the pipe of choice if you plan on modding however with this being my "dirt" bike I have no intentions of ever doing more than a K&N, Tors removal, & some pipes. I've done a lot of looking & searching on here the last couple of months & honestly can't decide what to get. On a sidenote I have run T5's before & they are a little to much of a high end pipe for my liking & style of riding. In a nutshell I want FMF Fatty's but don't want anything made by FMF, hence my dilema. Also on the T6's what do you guys reccomend for needle types & settings. Thanks, Chad

I dealt with them a long time ago as they use to have ads in dirt wheels mag. all the time. I bought some Keihn PWK 28mm carbs from them. Great price excellent service & seemed very knowledgable about the jets needles etc.. that I needed. I haven't heard from them in a long time & didn't know they were still operating. Based soley off my past experience however I would not be afraid to deal with them.

how long untill you dump old gas
sandman replied to dirtydownunder's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I've been dealing with the dilema of what to do with old 2 stroke gas as I have a bike that only knows sand & has never seen dirt which sucks when you live several hours from the sand. Then one day it occurred to me! Buy a "dirt banshee". Now I run that gas through the dirt bike and all is well! It's just another excuse to go riding & do my part to pollute the environment. -
I'll check into it. Thanks guys.

I recently had a crank failure on my old 1990 engine that I was running for awhile in my 05 banshee & basically one side got hot causing the thrust washer to come apart & the rest is history. So should I rebuild the crank, I see rebuild kits available on ebay from time to time or just junk it? I'm guessing it would need rod bearings & of course thrust washers on the one side at the least. I have it out & sitting on the work bench & am wondering what I should do with it now. It is a Hot Rods brand welded crank. Thought it would make a good paper weight but it keeps getting my papers oily!!!! LOL
