  1. I don't jump my flat track bike at all. However, I still have a long travel on the front end. The reason is when you come out of the turn and hammer the throttle, the front and starts to lift. With long travel the wheels droop and keep contact with the surface. This means you're free to stay wide open on the throttle, yet still point the bike and it goes where you want. I always advocate buying the best you can afford. In the end, these things are big kid toys. Nobody NEEDS any of the wild shit we buy for these things, but we want to.
  2. Especially Shearers junk chrome. But didn't you have cascade chrome yours? All the ore reason to make sure it's taken care of.
  3. The CC limit is a bit different for some different pipes. The Shearers are typically 472-500 CC's depending on set up. The CPI's are about 440-465 CC's depending on set up. Some motors make a better number on one short dyno run or trip down the strip. Take that same motor and dune it for a couple hours and the bike gets heat soaked and power falls off. Now put big bores on it and it may not make the same power right away, but once warm they produce good power and won't fall off. All in set up and intended use.
  4. The chrome it's wrapped around isn't aluminum.
  5. Any charts? Info on motor? In my experience the CPI's are a few ponies less then Shearer's, but they come on a bit earlier then Shearer's which is nice. Makes them feel like they have some grunt instead of needing to be revved to the moon for the bike to be alive.
  6. I hate pain killers. They gave me a script for Norcos, and I haven't even filled it. They just make my body feel gross. I prefer a visit from Dr. Ganja though.
  7. Those dumb ass twist on tops for NGK plugs...
  8. Fair enough. However, Being that the covers are soft enough to crack from a kick back. I just find that annealing the cases even if it's lower heat, just isn't helping that situation.
  9. Is the trans new?! WCR fell off the map and that is the unicorn trans to have. And is TSS actually still alive? This build is off to a good start
  10. Talking bearing or shaft? I've never had to heat a banshee cover. The shaft should slide in, and the bearing should be about half in with no effort as long as you drop it in straight.
  11. 14.5" shock vs. 17-19.5" shock.......
  12. Anything under 20-21CC will be race gas territory.
  13. If you are dead set on the stock carbs, get the Driveline bowls. All this talk lately about using stock carbs to support 70-80 hp motors. I'd like to see most of these folks try running wfo accross the dunes on stockers with out melting a motor down from the tiny bowls. Only in the last year or so has there been a way to adequately support the fuel needs of a hungry motor on stock carbs. To my knowledge there haven't been any other Billit bowl options. Hit up BHP.
  14. It could also be leaking pressure from the cylinder in to the coolant system and pressurizing it also that coolant drips. Just one more symptom of an improper seal at the head.
  15. Was wondering where you went. Hope all is well and you can pilot that thing to victory once again.
  16. Will not keep shifting if you aren't turning the trans
  17. I love that he made you pay for a turd rebuild then realized it needed to be machined. Now he gets paid twice to do it when he fucked up the first time.
  18. What was the shop called?
