  1. Just imagine if you had one that flowed well.......
  2. Dude! That is actually a pretty nice piece. Kind of an improved Graydon. I liked it more when it was still all raw though. You did a pretty good job crafting that thing for sure. Guys will still bitch, but I garuntee they are the guys that have only had junk 2-1 set ups. Just out of curiosity, ever consider selling one of those?
  3. So many arms are different thicknesses it would be impossible to determine a one sizefits all. So clamps....... I'll pass.
  4. Holy Shit! Just spit water every where!
  5. You can probably even find a good bike already modded for $2500. Use the other $500 to make sure it's fresh.
  6. Yeah, not to crazy. Just a bit though ; ) Don't bother with risers. Get an actual taller stem. Pretty cheap used. I would definitely get those pegs from ritchie petty! Also, you need suspension! Maybe even something you won't be able to find used. But you might be able to find good used stuff and have it rebuilt for you. PM Matt at SoCal. One tip on motor set up. With your weight a lot of guys will tell you to put a lot of compression in there, but I would steer clear. That crank already has enough load on it. I have seen a guy run pump friendly compression numbers with quite a bit of excessive timing and used AV fuel to compensate and it has worked well for them. The guy was about 320lbs
  7. Nope. Find gains elsewhere. Only time I've seen it verified to work since I've been around banshees is if your rider is 100-125lbs and racing 300'.
  8. Tors, parking brake, fresh fluids, clean the carbs. Blow through all the passages with a compressor.
  9. Just leave it apart for a while and think long and hard about how far you wanna go with it.
  10. Yes, HJR will do everything. Not saying how it will run, but it SHOULD be a runner.
  11. Bill has just about ball parked it. If...... The 14's are a bit much tire you can always learn to tune the clutch to deal with it. I seem to think guys are getting pretty good results messing with the clutches on these things. Plus on a motor like the Super cub you will be moving a lot of heat through those pipes and a little clutch slip helps that process so it seems to come on a bit nicer once the motor is under full load. I don't have a lot of drag experience but it's a little something I've noticed in my minimal experience.
  12. Ditch those 9's for 8's. That should definitely help. Any indication as to what the jetting is?
  13. X2 on matching set of cases. Then make sure thy any crank that goes in there is trued to spec and welded.
  14. Report back with results. My buddy had a 2/1 that kept burning odd like that on one side. No leaks or electrical issues.
  15. CPI's will have decent bottom for sure. On the more mid, aggressive trail, dune type motors they are great. Especially with a bit of timing and compression.
  16. 260-270? Hmm, make sure if those jets do go in your carbs to at least start fat and work your way down. That just sounds sketchy lean to me
  17. Ok, if I ever have a line up on some new pipes and don't get shafted, I will get at ya. There were about 4 guys that really wanted them and I still have all those PM's. I'll go through them in order.
  18. Nah, you just smell like it! Haha. But shit yeah, you are a Michigan fella to. I keep forgetting that. I'm wanting to put together a cool trail ride with a lot of you guys some time. Plus it would be cool to have more banshee fellas to hang out with. I'd really like to get 10 or so guys to come ice racing next year if possible.
  19. It pays to go through the whole thing and buy a good $75-100 in OEM replacement hardware from Jeff at fast. All that stuff nickle and dimes ya', but at least it won't be the old $3.00 part that fucks ruins your $2000 motor.
  20. Yeah, it's funny how we always chase the worst case scenario in stead of just dealing with the simple stuff. I chased a jetting issue, then even thought the motor was letting go. Once I get home and start taking it apart I noticed the choke on my PJ carbs was getting bumped against the pipes and gradually lifting it till it snapped open. I made some cool extended choke knobs out of polished SS brake line and was good to go.
  21. Keep the 28's. They will give you an all around power gain and be able to feed some future mods as well. They will also mean no more tors and they just makes life way easier as far as ease of tunability. Just run them if you already got them. You won't be dissapointed.
  22. Wanting this for a Future drag build, does I come with the head pipe? Didn't see that mentioned in the list.
