  1. Bought one of these a few weeks back, they are very popular around these parts and come highly recommend. The banshee is only getting faster and as I'm 41 this year, with 3 kids (and a helluva expensive wife) I'm starting to feel a bit paranoid about injury and loss of income. Good:The Leatt Brace is very light and relatively small in size. The brace is fully adjustable and I found a comfortable setting within a few minutes. Split design is easy to put on and take off, even when wearing chest protectors. Does not interfere with normal head movement. Complaints: I struggled initially to close the securing clips with gloved hands, but that was mostly due to unfamiliarity. Head movement is a little restricted when trying to turn, especially when trying to look back to see if riding buddies are still behind you. Expensive.
  2. Great vid Simon! Thanks for the autograph!
  3. Bonsoir Simon, Payment sent thanks. Don't forget to sign the DVD case!! J.J.
  4. Ha, you're gonna have to pick and scratch at each one of those openings. I used various chemicals, ultra sonic bath, compressed air, etc, managed to remove the majority of the coating without too much physical effort, but still had to get in there with something sharp to remove it all.
  5. Was cleaning up the home PC and found this, some of the older members should still remember this one. Here's the original post. Original post Gardens Movie
  6. My home made bracket, no need to cut the wires.
  7. Fixit, good to see you're still alive 'n kicking. Just the other day i looked up an old post of yours on fixing a miss-shifting problem, i remembered something 'bout a cam and a little screw.. Turned out to be Aug 2004.. been a while!

  9. Excellent :yelrotflmao:
  10. Thanks for the wishes everyone! John, my man, I'm still working in Asia, those cylinders you sent me more than a year ago are still on the shelf in my garage at home, haven't laid eyes on them yet... Hahaha, I saw BigRed's girl and she's a stunner, I don't think he would be interested in an old married woman with a bunch of kids... Once again, thanks everyone.
  11. This pissed-off little runt is my new son, born 19 Sep, weighing in at 3.5Kg. My wife decided to name him Jared, (I objected to naming him Bigred350x :yelrotflmao: ), although he is still in need of a godfather. (hint) Finally another male in a house full of girls and someone who I can share the banshee with.
  12. Damn! That's nice, is that RZ ready to roll yet? Please post some more pics, much appreciated, thanks.
  13. Dude, I don't even know where to start It sounds like you're in way over your head. I recommend you take the bike to a shop and have them fix it. Just to answer you Q: The backfire is probably caused by an airleak somewhere on the intake, sounds like your engine has been sucking on dirty air for a while, causing the score marks on the piston.
  14. I suppose you haven't read the jetting FAQ yet....
  15. I'd say you have an airleak somewhere around the carbs. If the choke tube is not connected, this could very well be the problem. I suggest you read through BenBB's Jetting FAQ.
  16. jbooker82, Many thanks for taking the time to reply, it's much appreciated. I haven't decided on the intake yet, (thanks for the link), I'm looking at a Modquad intake at the moment. Alternatively, I'm also playing around with the idea of experimenting with different length intake tracts, hoping to increase air velocity through the carb to improve on the weak fuel signal caused by over-carbing the engine. I'll definately follow your jetting recommendations thanks again! J.J.
  17. I'm about to order a set of 34PJ's from a supplier here in South Africa. As jets and needles aren't exactly off-the-shelve items in this neck of the woods, I need a ballpark number for the order. Just been through a shitload of searches and narrowed it down to: Main 145~150 Pilot 55 Needle DEK or CEK Elevation will vary from sea level to 1800ft, it's about 80Deg outside. Stock bore/stroke GRR port job K&N in the box, no lid V-Force 2 FMF Fattys 20cc Domes Presently running 310~320 mains on the stock carbs depending on location. Mostly wide open desert style riding. Thanks, J.J.
  18. I must admit I'm a tad dissapointed as well, I was holding my breath for a majorly enligthening thesis on suspension developement, instead we got a ten-liner...
  19. => grammar => previous => you're
  20. I also agree, he doesn't bother me at all. The HQ has always had a bluebreadtruck or a dirtrider and always will, i don't even read their shit. What irritates me more is having to scroll twice, just to clear the screen of some kids 20 line sig bragging about his "carbed and jetted banshee with blue painted axle"
  21. whenever
  22. If you look at the parts list below, you'll see there's no o-ring. The Pic#17 in the Clymers Ch.6 shows a big O-ring behind what they call the "clutch housing", or "Ref No. 5 PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR COMP. " in the picture shown below. I also can not re-collect an o-ring there on my bike. Parts List
  23. I have the chain roller kit, no problems there. I also have a pair of the boots between the carbs and filter. I ordered red and was quite dissapointed as well, the color is uneven and the inside sealing surface in way of the air filter box was poorly finished off, resulting in a lot of smooth sanding on my part to get a good seal. For some reason, over time the boot will start to slide off the back of the carbs, it seems as if there is no grip between the surface of the boot and the carb intake, even with both surfaces clean. Needless to say, I put the stockers back on.
  24. Just curious, if you drove all that way to pick-up the bike, why didn't you check it out before you paid?
