  2. All of the jetting circuits blend to a certain point. The air screw/pilot jet have no effect on the main. Here's how it really works.... If the adjustment screw is before the carb venturi (airbox/filter side) it's an air screw. Out means more air, in means less. If the screw is in front of the venturi, it's a fuel screw. Same thing...out is more fuel, in is less. Some of the 4 pokes have fuel screws instead of air screws....it's a lot more than 5% Snop... My buddies Honda with and FCR has a fuel screw.... 350...on top of this forum there are some very, very helpful stickies on how carbs work and jetting. I'd bet they'd answer 95% of your questions....and are an invaluable learning/reference tool... Take a gander!!
  3. Depends on who you ask. Some say you should taper bore the larger carbs, some say you don't.... Haven't seen any dyno results either way....
  4. NO...that's gear oil and it's too thick. ATF Type F, change it every few rides, or Bel Ray gearsaver 80W oil...
  5. It's been a long year for him if he hasn't....
  6. There has to be a dealer somewhere near you.... If not, order it online, take it in the shorts and pay for overnight shipping.. magicracing.com has 'em...as does sudco.com and carbparts.com
  7. That's like saying you're eating a steak and chicken at the same time,... Get a dune port. You'll lose a little bottom, pick up mid and top. Shearers are drag racing pipes, no bottom, no mid, ALL TOP.... Are you also getting bigger carbs to flow more, since it'll be ported and have top end pipes? My suggestion, get a dune port, 33PWKs and a CPI, T5 or Trinity pipe... Keep in mind, are you going to need to tires, gearing, suspension...possibly longer swinger to handle all this new power. Have you taken that into consideration? I'm not trying to sound like I'm getting down on you....but way too many people end up bolting on more power, but don't look at all the other aspects of getting it to the ground properly to use it. I'm 100% certain I can smoke a 450 on a drag strip, with paddles or pavement with slicks. However, If I were to bolt on a set of knobbies to my bike and try to play with 4 strokes in trails...they eat me up. Simply put....120HP doesn't hook up well with knobbies....on any bike... All I'm getting at is make sure you're not just bolting on HP...make sure you're thinking about how to get it to the ground, AND if your suspension can handle it as well....
  8. That's a sissy bar, isn't it? Man...that's hot!!
  9. Get the measurements and thread pitch/size...and go to Grainger, they have a shit ton of Heims... It's where I got mine....
  10. PM Lee on this one Highroller and ask him to move it... He did the right thing, shit happens to all of us...and he threw some icing on the cake...
  11. Ask Vey's (your porter) which pipes they recommend. Shearer is the best dune/drag pipe for inframe fitment....as far as clearing the air filters go. CPI is probably the best pipe for your application, but...they fit like shit around the filters. Trinity makes a damn fine exhaust as well...a notch better than T5s I'd say, but because they're stainless...you're gonna pay for 'em.
  12. Yep....I was looking for porting in the sig... Add his high elevation onto that...and it's really overcarb'd. I hate stockers....but, they do well for non-ported bikes. 30mm is the largest carb I recommend for non-ported motors. I see in your sig you had a single 35PWK...how come you're going with duals??
  13. Remind me not to look away or turn my back at the strip....LOL. JD...any luck with tires???
  14. Check out the dates on the post....April 2005.... I hope he found somewhere to race by now...
  15. Well put... AND...I might add... I live in MI. Less than 45 minutes from their store. All I do is drag race...to be honest. And the drag race crowd is a fickle crowd... These guys shave ounces, try every trick in the book...seen and unseen. If the pistons added anything worthwhile, they'd be run in all the bikes... And quite a few of these guys have hundreds of dyno runs. So even if they see it on a dyno, they're not seeing it on the track...where it counts.
  16. Ha ha ha ha....and he's not even married yet.... Now that's funny shit...
  17. For the price, I'd get the 12....give it more paddle. And when he builds a bigger motor (notice I said when, NOT if...lol) it'll be good to go. Time...he just needs time. I need to get over his house to help knock out some other shit so he can get a bike together in his garage...
  18. Pray you didn't hose up the insides. Were you wide open throttle when it ran out of gas? People tend to forget, it's not like your car... When you run out of fuel, you just starved your motor of fuel AND more importantly oil....
  19. He's going...if I had free room and board I would go too...LOL. That 450 is a helluva nice looking roller right about now....
  20. Kenda Klaws with every other row of knobs cut off.
  21. Total waste of money, they do not add the HP they claim. I've known two people that use 'em....and had issues with them (Cracked skirt on both). Now...if it was only one person, fine...but, two people and the pistons cracked in nearly the same spot. I believe Wiseco used to make the pistons for Vito's, to their specs. I'm not sure if they do anymore... For less money, you can get everything you need for a top end rebuild.... Wiseco ProLites are the way to go....
  22. Funny...RZ...the UP is starting to catch on. They are opening up snowmobile trails, even letting riders ride the shoulder of certain roads on ATVs. Their economy is absolute shit for 9 months of the year without the snowmobilers/hunters...so, they've realized the ATV crowd rides a lot more...and they're gonna get some revenue from it. I can remember back in the day you could ride your shit just about anywhere.... We used to own property in Meridith. A speck on the map, between Houghton Lake and Gladwin on M18. We'd ride into town for breakfast, lunch...dinner, go to the drive in movie theater, hit the general store for supplies, etc. Cops and DNR would wave and say hi. If they saw you parked somewhere, they'd chat about weather, sports, events, etc. Now...they're handing you a ticket if you're lucky, if not...they're hauling your bike away. Now...you got jack asses posting vids on the internet running from the cops, through city streets, etc., thinking they're cool and ruining it for all of us... Throw a helmet on, keep it off road. You wanna tear the street up, grow balls and buy a bike... End of rant...LOL.
  23. Bottom and mid at the expense of a very little top (you've got more than enough) Lighten the flywheel while you're at it. After that...tires, suspension, etc... Then porting.
  24. And a daily or yearly pass for your quad as well....two stickers, one great park...LOL...
  25. I'm trying to pull this trip out of my ass... Come up Friday night, Come home Saturday night... The girl isn't going out of town anymore....
