  1. Check out this forum, I put a bunch of info and pics for my oven: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=89599&st=0 I actually don't use a booth right now either, I'm going to build a collapsable one this summer when I have a little extra money.
  2. Cool, I did a banshee frame last night and holly crap are they big. I've owned a banshee for years but you don't really realize how big they are until you have to find a way to hang it up high from a chain with one hand! You have to be heman to do it... I ended up tarping off my oven and coating it inside the oven then removing the tarp without touching the frame so I could bake it. whew that was crazy!
  3. Looks good man. Kind of gives it a nice dark blue look instead of the brighter blue but still maintains the sheen underneath. I like it.
  4. From the picture I can't tell but do you guys think there is a risk of the screw vibrating it's way in or out? I don't see any kind of lock nut on it.
  5. Great guy, paid up as we agreed in a very timely manner and was a pleasure doing business with!
  6. Well, I don't remember all the costs but here's what I can think of off the top of my head: Metal studs: about 7-10 of them 7' tall at about $4 each Rolls of sheet aluminum: 4 rolls at about $15 each? Heat duct tape: 2 rolls at $8? Cement board for the base: $7 Mineral wool: $60 but had a bunch of extra Oven: FREE Craigslist
  7. Here's an inside pic
  8. It's made from aluminum wall studs, thin sheet aluminum, pop rivets, an old gutted kitchen oven, and mineral wool for the insulation. It's 7' tall 3' wide and 3' deep. Pretty easy to build, I bought everything from home depot except for the mineral wool which I got at an industrial insulation supplier.
  9. Here are the suppliers I use. You kind of have to play around with the different ones because one companies "gloss black" can be WAY more glossy or easier to work with than another's. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=...emType=CATEGORY http://www.caswellplating.com/powder/index.html http://store.columbiacoatings.com/ http://www.powderbuythepound.com/ Here's a pic of my oven I build for cheap, I just did a Banshee frame last night in it and I think banshee frames are probably the biggest frames you'll run into. Let me know if you have any questions.
  10. I'll let sheerider1026 answer first since this was his thread. I don't want to try and steal business. I didn't notice where sheerider is from so if he's too far away I'll quote it for you but like I said I'm not the type of person to steal business so I'll let him make the decision.
  11. Yep, I'm going to start taping tonight as a matter of fact. Yeah, I do use the extreme chrome. I just wish it looked that good once you clear coat it. I did some subframes today and cleared them and now they just don't look as good as without it but oh well, someday technology will create a powder like this that doesn't require a clear. I'll post them up when I'm done...
  12. I'm probably going to PC my cases candy blue over chrome PC tomorrow if you want to see what they look like? I can post some pics.
  13. Yeah, Jamey I meant to thank you too. Awesome vid man, great job. After watching it I feel a powerful primeval urge to work harder and faster on the rebuild! I can't friggin wait to ride this summer!!!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo over winter right now!!!!
  14. That's pretty much what I was thinking... I think I'll make the offer and see what happens. Thanks
  15. Ok guys, I REALLY want to get her a Banshee but I'll settle for a Blaster because of my limited budget. I only have about $1000. to spend unfortunately, so I've been looking for a non-running one to work on. Gotta question for all of you... I found a 1998 blaster for sale and the guy says the kickstart won't move so it might be a blown motor. What do you guys think it would be worth? What should I offer him? Ya think $600 is a low blow or reasonable?
  16. Try standing her on her ass end, spin the reservoir upright on the handlebars, open the bleeders and start pumping the fluid upward and let it sit overnight if you need to to allow the bubbles to rise. Works really good for the back brake to let bubbles rise to to res., might help for the fronts... :ermm:
  17. That's funny, I have that exact same issue! I had just bought my little girl brand new shoes and she rested them on the pipes and melted all the way almost into the shoes and now my pipes are all coated with melted plastic....
  18. Yeah, I didn't think so, guess it's coming out and a new on in then... Cause I'm offgassing it tonight.
  19. What are you going to do with the dremel?? Just destroy it and put in a new one I assume?
  20. Mainly during offgassing for an hour...
  21. I'm not worried about the seal, I'm worried about the bearings. You think they are alright with the heat? I guess so but not sure if it will warp the bearing cage since its so thin....?
  22. Yeah, they are both correct... either take it out or have a new one ready. I just PC'd mine the other day and I took everything out. It's pretty easy. By the way, speaking of bearings and seals... I removed the seal but how the hell do you get the clutch push lever bearing out??? You can't get to the backside of it with a socket....
  23. Man I'm glad I saw this thread!! Holy crap!! I have a boost bottle I was going to either give away or possibly get $10. for it but after reading this...you guys may have saved my ass!! Now I can sell it for $5-6K no problem...
  24. Wooohooo! See, just takes some patience and a few good minds and all works out. Enjoy... wish I was riding!!!!
  25. These are whoops:
