  1. Hey guys, quick question on that note... I coincidently just did this same thing. However my setup is off just enough that the chain is too loose with the extra link and the carrier won't pull back far enough. BUT with the link removed it is too tight... I may have to go with a tooth smaller on the rear but may not have the time or money to do that. Is it detrimental to the engine if the chain is too tight?? or will even an older chain still streatch a little and loosen up??
  2. Thanks man, is there a website? I searched in google and couldn't seem to find what I was looking for...
  3. cool, thanks guys. Nope haven't hit the NOS yet cause I still need to tear it down again and get the crank welded! Next time I'm going to safety wire those nuts, do you guys know of any aftermarket hubs that may have stronger lugs??
  4. What's the tech name for the studded peice that the rear sprocket mounts to with 5 or six nuts?? I got too much power and lost all but 2 nuts and sheered one of the studs right off. Thanks guys!!
  5. I would say sue them but you'll just end up spending your own precious time (not riding) and money (may have to sell the shee just pay lawers ) and get no where with it. I was in the army and one of the Seargents that I worked with was in Desert storm. We were combat engineers, he was tasked to blow up a bunker full of chemicals. What they failed to realize was the explosion sent a lot of it into the air and it dropped down on their positions. Long story short; he cannot have kids now (effects of chemicals). He tried to sue for that and got nowhere... By the way, my wife has tenia versicolor too, what do you use to keep it at bay?? She's tried a few things but believe it or not athletes foot lotion kind of works.
  6. Not sure if this guy is just not getting to his email or if he's screwing me. don't want to leave negative feedback if one of you know him and are able to find anything out. I paid him $70. for some blaster rims 2 weeks ago and haven't heard or seen a word from him??? his ebay user name is "pody3kgt" thanks all
  7. Glamis for sure, but if you are going through colorado or southern wyoming, swing by Walden for a day. It's small but worth the experience. If you are interested let me know and I'll give you directions. It's sand dunes, good hill climing and a lot of trails also.
  8. You guys respond faster than anyone else and I'm sure one of you would know. I'm helping a couple friends wire their CR 250 R's for lighting so they can ride at night. Got tickets last year!! Does anyone know if these bikes have a lighting circuit I can tap into or does the stator not even provide it at all?? Is there a V-Regulator? Any alternative lighiting (front and rear) ideas are welcome!! Thanks guys
  9. It's actually black with a tablespoon of sparkle added to give it the metalic look. I helped the guy do it. I'm setting my garage up now for powdercoating and sandblasting.
  10. It's really easy and the bearings are sealed and pushed into the axle carrier. I just had mine apart and my wife's and PC'd them. You could even take the bearings out and PC the carrier too.
  11. Actually I'm looking for some good whips myself for my shee and the wifes blaster. Looks like it's gonna be shitty this weekend but maybe next will be nice. If it turns out nice this saturday, I'll head up though...
  12. Glad to hear it's starting melt off a little!! I think I'll head up there next weekend or the one after that. I just got the wifes blaster done, that little bitch is gonna do pretty damn good up there for a small machine! Hey, Big Red, I'll let you know and maybe we can meet up there. I'll post here again too for anyone else that wants to try and time it together.
  13. Swingarm, done with chrome PC..!
  14. another
  15. I'm going to buy PC equipment and start doing all my own stuff and then whoever else wants it. I went over to a freinds house last night who has been doing it for a while now and we coated my wifes blaster frame and swing. Came out beautiful. I wasn't too worried about the nooks and cracks so I didn't sand those down but the parts that went onto bare metal came out perfect.
  16. I was going to go get either a copper washer or a gasket washer for it. I'll just use some yamabond, i have some so might as well be safe. thanks
  17. My stepson cross-threaded the oil drain plug in his blaster and I just tapped it out to a larger bolt size. The new bolt tightens down nicely but is just a tad loose in the threads as you start screwing it in. Would I be wasting my time to use a little Teflon tape to help the seal or would it just melt and disintegrate?
  18. A business partner and I are looking at the possibility of opening a MX track plus a drag strip etc. in Colorado. Do any of you have or know of any good resources for obtaining info regarding startup costs, funding, etc. etc.?? Thanks for any info.
  19. I haven't checked it at that elevation, I live in Denver and have checked it here (5280 ft) it's at 135psi.
  20. Ok, so I guess I'll jump in here too. I normally ride at 8500' in the mountains of Colorado. I have 17cc domes and +4 deg. Sometimes run 93 oct. pump and sometimes 111 oct. race gas. Am I ok?
  21. Here is the specs; Stator resistance: Ignition coil should be 13.7-20.5 Ohms (red to green wire) Pickup coil should be 94-140 Ohms (white/red to white/green wire) Lighting coil should be 0.26-0.38 Ohms (black to yellow wire)
  22. Agreed, I had the same issues with a stator before too, that's why I mentioned it also. They're moody like my wife was last night, one minute she was joking and timing was good with my comebacks, next thing I knew she was ripping my head off, guess it's time to go play with the shee for a week...
  23. Crap I don't know then, sorry man. Do you have an adjustable timing plate that may have come loose??
  24. You may have already thought of this but something similar happened to me a long time ago when I was new to banshees but are you absolutely positive the carb slides are in the correct side? It's possible to put them in backwards and then the shee runs like shit, if at all. It will backfire and sometimes run on one cylinder etc. Make sure you sync the carbs, there are little windows on the sides of each carb and as you roll on the throttle you will see a ping mark appear in the window, both marks should appear at the same time, if you don't see a ping mark at all the slides are in the wrong carbs.
