  1. Yeah, don't waste your money on those lamps unless you're going to shell out the $600. for a very high wattage one. I just got rid of my lamp because they're not worth it. You will end up under curing your frame and then within a day to a few weeks your coating will start to crack and chip off. Where are you located? I have an oven big enough. I could do it for you for a reasonable price if you don't find someone else but not sure if you want to pay to ship it, that would be a pain.
  2. Hey Thanks man but Kiel took care of me on those items but I'll let you know if anything else pops up as I start digging into my wifes banshee...
  3. Yeah, I do still need the plastic. Let me know, sorry took so long to reply...
  4. An air stapler works best, the electric ones can be a pain in the ass causing the staples to bounce back. The hot glue is a good idea for a beginner I suppose. Use heat to make the cover nice and pliable and it makes the job a million times easier, something like a heat gun (be VERY careful not to melt) or if you have one of those steamers for clothes that would work great. We used to use a steam machine on all covers when I worked in the auto upholstery industry. I've recovered many...
  5. No prob, I have a super wet gloss on hand. Really friggin nice color!!
  6. I'll knock them out in no time for you. Yeah I can strip them, just installed a new compressor with MUCH better performance!! What kind of black do you want? Gloss or Flat? PM'ing you now...
  7. Done deal Kiel!! When do you want to do it?
  8. Actually I don't really care cause it will get painted but red if you have it.
  9. I'll trade some PC for any of the following: -Tierods with ends -9 paddle haulers on or off rims in good condition -Stock grill plastic cover (not just the insert... the whole plastic piece) -Clutch cable
  10. "theshee" he does some VERY nice artistic work!
  11. Yeah, we use silicon plugs and caps for threads and use high temp tape for other things. If you are about to send it off to a powder coater don't mask it yourself, they just end up removing all your masking anyway.
  12. Yeah Tiger has some decent one. It really depends on whether or not you want to either chance the damage or find someone with a lamp... I have been getting mixed answers from the PC guys I talk to... some of them have succeeded at keeping it under 400 (which is what powders typically cure at) and some have destroyed the teflon so it's all about the risk you want to take or using a lamp. I sold my lamp cause they are very ineficient... if I had known about the teflon issue I may have kept it at least to knock out my A-arms... oh well
  13. Hey thanks for the referrals guys, much appreciated. I'll take good care of him!
  14. I know imagine being me... I see it everytime I post and get distracted. I'm not easily distracted but MY LORD that's nice!!!
  15. Damn well I sold my infrared lamp because it isn't worth a crap for curing. Anyone happen to know where I can find out exactly what IS inside and what their heat tolerances might be? If I can find out what they used in them back in 89' I should at least be able to get an idea of what the tolerance is...
  16. I'm looking into it right now to see if I can figure out a way... I know that with some powders you can go at a lower temp for a longer duration so I'm trying to find out what that temp is so I'll know if the teflon etc. inside the A-arms can take it... Does anyone know if 1989 J-Arms have teflon or something else??
  17. I just got a response from Jeff and he said he can get them so i sent him a list to get a quote. Thanks!
  18. Hmmm. good idea I'll have to check that.
  19. Cool thanks guys
  20. I have a bunch of OEM parts I need to order and wondered if you guys know the best places? Not sure if Jeff (FAST) can get them or not but I'll probably check because I'm already going to order some stuff from him. Let me know...search didn't turn anything up...Thanks
  21. Yeah I found some of this Cool flex at the auto parts store for like $30. and it was enough to do 2 banshees. I have had it on for 3 years now and works perfect. It probably helps with cooling a bit too. I'm not sure if its "Cool Flex" brand but it is flexible metal and looks exactly the same.
  22. Oh, sorry, I built my cabinet. Much cheaper and you can build any size you want. Mine is 4' wide by 2' deep and 3' tall in the back, and 2.5' tall in front. Sorry hotcarl if we are threadjackin ya!
  23. Yeah, I have an harbor freight 50# pressure blaster and I only use aluminum oxide media 70 grit from harbor freight also.
  24. I use the thermostat but the only real way to check temps is with an IR temp gun. You never want to go off of what temp the oven says, you go off of the temp that the part is. I usually use my blast cabinet but its just a little too small for a banshee frame. The frame came to me blasted but the guy missed a bunch of spots so i had to take my pot blaster out on the driveway and waste a little bit of aluminum oxide but not too bad. I'm not sure how you guys blast things but one thing you need to be very very careful of is playsand. I don't recommend using it! Silicosis is a VERY dangerous thing to be fucking around with. Just in case you didn't know...
  25. More pics Hotcarl!!! More pics! I love looking at coated projects and especially Banshee ones!!
