  1. I've been getting that sound for years in Walden, it's normal. No it's probably not great for them but I just consider it a normal wear and tear issue unless I decide to put a skid plate on...
  2. Ok everyone here is the floorplan!! We have lots of room! ANOTHER REMINDER GET YOUR REGISTRATION FORMS IN!! HURRY HURRY!!
  3. If you split your cases you should probably replace your seals anyway. Jeff at FAST has some good prices on seal kits. The main seals are on either end of the crank. You can see some really good pictures of them right here: http://dunereview.com/rebuild.htm
  4. Yeah, if they definitely used an oven then the only other way I could see that they may have done it is by decreasing the cure temp and increasing the time. That's what I was considering doing on mine but made the decision not to chance it. I may have missed it but what color did you go with? If it's a gloss or especially a translucent color then look at it REALLY closely in real good sunlight and look for tiny hairline spiderweb cracks that look like they are under the surface. If you see that, there is a possibility of undercure, and if that's the case they probably did go with lower temp and longer time... Just a thought
  5. I'm buying you a beer bud! If you need a place to stay overnight if it goes late, I can make room for you. Tate
  6. Get your carrier all apart from the axle etc., then put it in the freezer for a few hours, take it out and if they don't come out fairly easy, hit the outside of the carrier with a heat gun for a little bit...
  7. That's interesting. Are you sure he didn't just use an IR Lamp? Also I'm not sure how to tell if they are ruined, myself, but how do you know they are still ok? I would imagine they would still move fine but can you tell if the teflon is still good?? I'm not being a smartass I'm truly curious because I ended up painting mine and they are already accumulating chips and all I've done is put them on the bike so far...
  8. Bump for entry forms!!! If you are planning on entering your vehicle in the Show please send in your registration forms ASAP!!!
  9. Hey I'm pretty sure I'm good to go on my end gap but it doesn't hurt to throw the question out there... What do you guys recommend for the ring end gap measurment? Let me know if you need to have more information to answer... A very experienced (in motorcross, not necessarily Banshees) friend of mine did the boring and honing and we've done the cylinders nice and tight so needless to say I'm doing a LOT of heat cycling once I'm back together. Thanks for the input.
  10. No, that's a completely different process. You might check on the electrical upgrade on www.dunereview.com for that. This is just the standard electrical system.
  11. Ok so here is how my banshee is wired, I just thought I would share this with everyone since I drew it up nice and clear. If you find any errors let me know and I'll fix it but this is an EXTREMELY simple wiring job. If you guys all like it and want it for long term then maybe Lee will "sticky" it.?? Let me know what you think or if you see something I've missed... Tate
  12. Hey Kiel, if you are still at your Bro's and able to read this. Did you try to clear your cache on your browser? It might not be picking up the changes they made. Let me know if you have any questions. Tate
  13. I would do it. I just did it... I bought one for $1200 in about the same condition.
  14. It only feels like the rubber is a bit dry and dragging is all, nothing grinding or binding at all and I made sure all the pins were in place. I DID lube the seals so I think shees ok I just need to be real careful when I get the motor ready for starting and make sure the oil is full and everything is wet in there because it's bone dry right now from the rebuild. I spoke to Jeff from FAST as well as Jared (bigred350x) and they both have dealt with this before also and said I'm probably ok. I'm just going to be very careful prior to starting.
  15. Cool, PM'ed you back...
  16. PM sent on front master cylinder
  17. I'll get some video of the show and post it up for those of you who can't make it. Maybe I'll bring my booty shaker... hehe (see avatar...)
  18. Let me know, i'll trade you some Powdercoating for these items. PM me if you do!
  19. Hey Guys you can get all the info and forms on my website; www.activ8mag.com
  20. I haven't used it yet, I'm still in the middle of my build but I'll post once I have used it. I think it uses the twist cable but I haven't actually dug into it yet to see, been too busy on all the PC lately.
  21. Front brake master cylinder??
  22. Ok sorry guys I took yesterday off and was coating my frame and a bunch of other stuff, I'll see if I can answer everyone here: "HEY WAT DOES THE BLASTING CABINET DO?? OR HOW DOES IT WORK, WAT ARE THE STEPS YOU TAKE FROM START TO FINISH ON POWDER COATING." The cabinet is so you can strip old paint etc. off parts and also prep the metal's surface for good adhesion for the powder. There's lots of steps really, I'll just give you the basics: Strip to bare metal, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, and then clean again, attach grounding wire shoot powder onto part, put in oven and bake for specified time, remove and let cool. Once cool it's ready to bolt back on! "Oh no, my old oven is electric. We just had gas run to our house and I will be putting a new gas range in.." Oh ok gotcha, I must have misread. "How long does it take you to get the oven to temp?" I can get mine up to 550 deg in about 10-15 min max "Setup looks pretty good man! I would triangulate from the sides to help distribute the load on your rail system. Generally not good to have a load hanging straight down like that. Other than that, looks pretty good for a home-made setup. Keep up the good work! - Jared" Actually I took those pics right after I got done building it and yeah I plan to do that but I don't plan to hang anything much heavier than a banshee frame from it so with that said, the rail is the weakest link and will fail prior to anything else... "think you can build a cabinet to recover both blast media and powdercoat? i gotta save myself some room on this part of my setup. otherwise dude nice digs!" If you mean to coat in AND blast in, I would say no because of the contamination from the media, you'd have a hell of a time cleaning up every time you got done just to get ready to coat. It's pretty messy inside a blast cabinet.
  23. Yeah that's exactly what I did, tossed the rest in the dump. But you might want to do some research on using gas ovens, i'm not sure if it works very well... Thanks for the compliments!
  24. Yeah that's fine, I'm planning to have pretty much ALL my PC done before Sunday so I can start getting her back together finally. I'm taking tomorrow off so I can knock a bunch of stuff out including my frame. I have 6 pounds of powder and some chrome and some blue showing up today!
