Yep, I'm definitely going to do the video it's just going to take a while so have patience with me... I already planned out what phases of the build I will video tape and explain etc. The shift star mod is definitely one of them. I'm also going to create short "outake" tutorials just to put out on YouTube for you guys. I'll keep you updated.. Later
-
Ok well maybe I'll just plan on doing that then. It will take me a while but I can turn a pretty decent video out. I'll keep you guys updated on progress and please, if you want to see something in particular like the shift star mod, let me know and I'll see what I can do to get it in. Thanks guys!!

Honestly I don't know if I would even sell it to tell you the truth... I just wanted to make it to help others out. Maybe sell it if it turned out really nice and professional but really I just planned on hosting it online for fellow shee riders. I have really good video editing software so I may just turn it into a nice production and if someone wanted it on DVD then I might sell it... we'll just have to see how it turns out.
-
Ok well I'll probably do it but so that I don't spend ALL my time filming... and not working... I need everyone's thoughts on what particular "phases" of the rebuild might be most useful. That way I can plan it out ahead of time and capture everything without having to either miss it or redo it. Let me know what you guys think.

You are correct... Think of it as diluting the gas with oil. If you dilute the gas...there's less gas compared to what ever you are diluting it with...less is "lean".
-
Financially...I'll have to take my time anyway so I might as well...

I'm about to start my rebuild is there any part of it that you guys would like to see me video tape for community use? If so, let me know what parts of the rebuild you would like to see as a how to video. I'm tearing it down to the bare bones, boring, new pistons, rounding off shift star, rewiring, personally powder coating EVERYTHING I can, new reeds etc. etc. This is my first time creating a poll so hope it works...

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Banshee!! You won't be dissapointed... 2-strokes are very easy to work on and you have a HUGE wealth of knowledge on this forum! If you are ever unsure or need advise prior to purchasing anything... check here first there's lots of knowledgeable people who love to help out.

Hey man, did you have these done in candy translucent black? Thats what it looks like... I was just thinking of doing mine in that color because I have some on hand (I do powder coating). Tate
-
Yeah, I went riding on sunday and ran for a while but then something went out and I lost all spark so I guess that's my excuse to start the rebuild... I'm going crazy with the blue powder coating...hehehe
-
Sorry yeah, I forgot to list them as well, duh. Anyway, just though it would be nice to know if there are any others. Thanks!

I've tried searching to see if there is a thread with a list of all the suppliers but didn't really see anything. Can someone list all the best places to get accessories etc.? The main ones I know of are Alba Action and Rocky Mountain ATV but I know there's got to be more... Thanks

Cool, well thats kind of what I figured and the question of over heating had crossed my mind also but seems like I should be fine. I've coated a few engines for people already too and haven't heard anything back so I should be fine. Have you ever done any with 2 coats? I was actually hoping to do mine in translucent blue so I would need to lay down a base coat first unless I want the surface of the case showing through which I'm not too keen on...
-
Cool thanks for the reply. I figure it should be fine. Do you know what kind of powder was used? Was it high temp or regular powder?
-
Hey, I've seen a lot of you guys have powdercoated your engine cases. My question is, how is the PC holding up to the heat, especially near the exaust ports? Are you guys having them done with high temp powder or standard? Thanks Tate
-
Ok cool, that helps, so what do you think the expansion chamber right by your knees on a T5 gets to?? And what about the silencers? If you're not sure that's fine, I have a infrared thermometer I can use but it's really cold and snowy out right now so I don't really have a place to ride hard to get it up to temp... Thanks for the info tate
-
Hey guys, anyone have a rough estimate on what the highest temperature the exhaust pipes get at different locations on the pipes? For example right at the engine VS. at the expansion chamber and on back to the silencers. Thanks Tate

Ok so I'm going to rebuild this winter and I personally do powdercoating so needless to say I'm going to powdercoat a lot of stuff. I'm going to probably keep the same color scheme for the most part but I was thiking of coating almost EVERYTHING in the blue that you see in this picture. I'm talkin' rims, axle, handlebars, swing arm, hubs, entire engine, carbs, nerf bars, bumper, grab bar... you name it, it's getting coated. What do you guys think about EVERYTHING being this "anodized" looking blue except for the plastics, seat, and tires...! I usually have some nice color contrast but this time I'm considering this... not sure yet just throwing out some ideas to see what kind of feedback I get... It would look similar to the banshees out there that are almost entirely chrome... only mine will be this anodized looking blue. what do you guys think??

Hey all, been a while since I've been on the forum but I'm just in the planning stages of rebuilding the shee. I don't have much money for the rebuild this winter but I do powder coating. I'm looking for anyone who can bore my cylinders etc. etc. and also who may want to trade parts like pistons, new a-arms, etc. etc. I don't know exactly what I'll need yet but wanted to get the word out and start making some connections now. Thanks guys! Tate

Hey anyone headed up to Walden the weekend after this coming?? I haven't been up in quite a while and been jonezin to go!! Tate

It's funny you ask that because by the end of this year it will be a physical product as well... It is currently online at www.activ8mag.com but we will eventually be on CD or DVD and it will be distributed to hundreds of locations across Colorado. Right now just go to our website and click on "June 2007" link. ActivEight Digital Magazine

No way would I... We all have to stick together now days with so many government and political agencies trying to squeeze out all of our riding land! I'm there to help form groups to promote safe and responsible riding of all types! Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm a long time Banshee owner and die-hard rider and I've started a local activity magazine here in Denver. I'm covering EVERYTHING there is to do in this great state which includes Motorsports. And just because I'm a Banshee lover I will be covering a lot of Quad riding and possibly Banshee mods and how-to videos, yes I said videos... we are a Digital Magazine. We will begin covering all the hot places to ride not only in Colorado but places like Glamis and St. Anthony's etc. There are two reasons I'm posting this message, I would love your feedback and I would also like to invite any of you to submit your Kick Ass videos for a chance to be in our monthly mag! So let me know what you think, and if you have some Sick-Ass vids, contact me and maybe I'll put them in July's issue!! Click on the "June 2007" link on our website to see the mag. Click here! Thanks All! Nitrotate

Hey all! It's been a long time since I last posted here but I'm still ridin' when I get a chance up at the Walden sand dunes! I wanted to extend my services to anyone who is looking, hopefully it is not inapropriate to post this here and if so I appologize. I do powder coating out of my garage as a hobby but if anyone wants any coating done please let me know. I don't charge much compared to the pros and I can do some pretty good work! IM me if you are interested. I would love to help my fellow Banshee owners out!! Thanks Tate
