  1. hey guys I was just wondering if anyone who is around ga would be willing to help me put my banshee back together . I have been out of it for nearly 2 years . I gave my banshee to my nephew to try to keep him out of trouble , but he recently got involved in drugs , and is in juvenile . It is stripped down to the frame because he was going to powdercoat the frame etc . I just wanna get it put back together , I'm pretty illiterate on doing these kind of things . I would take it to the yamaha shop , but they probably charge me more than it's worth , and take forever . Thanks for the info
  2. I found a guy the other day here in my hometown who does it . He can do any color glow in the dark , whatever or customize your color . I'm going to have him do my frame unsure on color yet because too many options he showed me . He is making me a scrap piece with a color he came up with to see if I like it . It was kinda of a candy blue metallic that changes colors in sunlight it was pretty wild looking . He showed me some finished pieces he had done and beat the hell out of them with a hammer , and it did'nt really affect the finish .
  3. sorry it took so long to get back . I found a guy the other day who the yamaha shop recommended he does good work , and is only about 10 minutes from me . I think his pricing is fair he will paint the frame any color you want for $150 dollars or custom colors 225 . He is located in chatsworth ga about 20 minutes from dalton
  4. hey everyone was just wondering if anyone does powdercoating that's from ga ? I have a 98 frame I would like to get done , but don't wanna ship it out
  5. yeah I remember watching a show where the crew were divided into teams . Boyd built a car and the other guys built a truck , and they had to drive the cars like 700 miles to the event . Alot of problems for both teams , but if I remember correct Boyd won . I enjoyed his show , he was the man
  6. I have run the fmf fatties and the pro circuits . They are both good pipes , but I personally like the pro circuits better . The sound in my opinion is better , and a better power curve . They hit pretty hard on bottom , and have a better topend than the fatties , but then again this was on my bike . pro design cool head 19cc domes v-force 2's 34pj carbs no airbox running 6 inch pods stock porting .
  7. lmao purple and pink powerbands , and boost bottle . I think he may need to check his jetting if he's only hitting 135mph topend . My banshee easily hit 200 the day I bought it from the yamaha shop :yelrotflmao:
  8. It's funny what some people will write trying to sell something . I found a banshee on e-bay stock cylinders with a port job and cpi's . The seller said (quote) This is not a kid's toy been clocked by the law at 135 mph LMAO . Maybe he wants to race my lt 80 been clocked at 200 mph going down a mountain with no brakes in a tornado. :yelrotflmao:
  9. well it all depends on if they are factory or not , what kind of finish , standard or long travel , there is alot of if's here , and how good of condition they are in . posting some pics would help , however if they are stock it would'nt be that much too many aftermarket arms that are way better for about the same price of buying a new set of factory from the yamaha shop
  10. If you decide to part the bike shoot me a pm I'm only 30 minutes from you in dalton ga . I may be interested in the motor and the swinger
  11. hey everyone , my friend wanted me to post this . He has a stock 2006 model yfz 450 all except a pipe . He said the yamaha shop supposably rejetted it when they put the pipe on . According to him the bike runs fine intil you hit topend then it cuts out . I told him it sounds like a possible jetting issue to me , but then again I'm no mechanic especially on them . I'm going to go ride the bike tommorrow , and see if I can't help him out . What do you guys think ?
  12. hey everyone I just recently purchased a 74 ss nova , that I'm gonna restore . I have'nt had any problems finding parts with the exception of a grill . My question is does anyone know where I might find one , or if there is anyway you can make a 72 grill fit . I've been told the 72's would work with modifications done , but I don't know . I have tried yearone , classic industries , j@w nova , just about all of them with no luck . the only place I found one was ebay and it was damaged pretty bad . All help is greatly appreciated this is my first restoration project and I need some help finding this part , thanks again
  13. nice car man , I just recently purchased a 74 ss nova body, and I'm in the process of restoring it . I cant find a grill nowhere you can find them for 65 - 72's but that's about it . I have tried yearone , classic industries , j @ w nova , you name it . I seen a couple on ebay 'but they were all damaged up , any ideas
  14. I have a dirt wheels mag forget what issue without looking , but anyway they test a modified outlander . They were testing it against a stock yfz 450 , and claimed that the outlander will beat the yfz pretty easily and tops out around 90 mph . I don't know though thats just what they say , but 90 mph on a 4x4 sounds hard to believe to me .
  15. thanks man you are practically in my backyard if your in Calhoun 20 to 25 minutes at the most
