  1. yeah what they said. it's like wireing a speaker backwards it works the same.
  2. i run them and haven't had a problem yet. i have been running them for about a year, and i don't ride easy ever. nice penguin cups by the way.
  3. if its a stock head i have a brand new head gasket that came with my top end kit that i never used because i have a cool head. i will send you for free. if you want it pm me your shipping info.
  4. pull the head off and have a look around. if you have been over heating alot you my have burnned a hole or mellted a piston. also have a quick look at your water pump impellar. mine over heated and melted all the blades off of it and then i melted the pistons. first off does it feel like it has compression when you kick it? do a quick spark check before you tear in to the engine.
  5. if you mean head studs take two head nut 1 upside down and the other right side up, screw them on a stud tighten them together like a lock nut and just loosen it like a bolt. and i don't think there is any thing to mess up with the power valves there isn't on my KX 500.
  6. pm passionre, or f.a.s.t., both are reputable builders and good guys.
  7. when i got mine ported jim hooked me up and bored mine for $50 for both holes.
  8. damn you gimmebeer your just to fast for me.
  9. stuck float. tap on the float bowl with the handle of a screw driver, that should un stick it. if not tear it back down and look for particals of dirt and reclean.
  10. any fellow hqers gonna be there.
  11. 21x21x8 man that is a wide ass tire i assume you ment 21x12x8
  12. not if your fast enough.
  13. i use some stuff called blue magic metal polish that took the blueing off my pipes
  14. you have and air leak and it sounds like your jetting is rich.
  15. the way jim expailed it to me is it is more than a regular dune port and not quite a drag port. yes i am still stock stroke. i haven't had it on a dyno but i am pretty sure the numbers are really close. i raced a bike that dynod at 80hp and was right on his ass about one bike lenght back and i weigh 30lbs more than he did and he is no slouch in the riding skills department either. when i get bigger carbs and different pipes i wanna dyno it for sure. as far as the +6 swinger it hasen't effected duneabilty much at all. it handles fine on hard pack and deasert riding .it makes trail riding a pain but my bike is set up for dunes any way. but i do like to have to work at riding it makes it fun for me, if i didn't i would ride a four stroke.
  16. i would go with a +6 swinger and some 21 or 22 inch 10 paddels haulers. i have a passion conventional hot dune port jim said that it sould be with in 3 to 5 hp of the 12 port (mid to upper 70 HP) and i wouldn't go any shorter than the +6 swinger i'm running the front end gets in the air still but it is very predictable . i am switching over to 22 inch 10 paddel haulers my self . you should be very happy with you bike when its all back together. jim gave me more than i was expecting. (which was a good thing)
  17. 15/41 fmf gnarlys and k&ns 20in tires 86.3 on garmin gps. i haven't tried it since i got all my engine work done and changed pipes and advanced my timing and other things.
  18. check for air leaks, cracked or chipped reeds ect.
  19. yes you can revome the tors with no adverse effects. i recomend it and so does pretty much all other banshee owners. try cleaning your carbs and air filters. if you still have no joy, put some new plugs in. if that doesn't work check the resistance of you plug caps.i feel your pain on the foot hurting, when my cdi crapped out i had a lump and a bruise in the arch of my foot for like a week and even a light kick all most put me in tears. hope this helps and good luck.
  20. if it ran fine before change it back. elevation, temp and humidity are key factors in jetting.
  21. i noticed a much better throttle responce and alot more on top over stock.
  22. your pipes are what limit your rpm not the cdi. it doesn't work like a 4 strokes does. all the different curves do is advance or retard your timing different degrees. so if you have an adjustable timing plate you will need to set it back to 0 to get it to work properly.
  23. it was the procom cdi. i shit canned it and got a stocker off ebay and she fired 2nd kick.
