  1. It comes down to preference. I use Bel Ray Gear saver 80w as do many others on here. I havent run 10W30 in the shee so I cant really comment on and pro's or con's.
  2. I'd check over the frame to see if its been rolled or not. Look at the bike from behind and make sure that the pipes are level and that one isnt higher than the other. Also check the front plastics and make sure they are fitting right.
  3. My first was a banshee, if you are thinking about getting a banshee then do it. No use wasting money buying something else so you can learn because the banshee is a whole different ballgame from most 4-strokes and it takes a different riding style & mentality. Also, the banshee can be very reliable if you maintain it properly. If something does break though its soooo simple to work on them. So no use learning to ride something else if the banshee is where you want to be eventually. A stock banshee is fast, but not tooo scary yet. So if you are worried about it learn on a stock banshee.. then start modding the shit out of it!!!
  4. Its already mixed, says so right on the container.
  5. I may be there just on Sunday for the warz.. but thats about it.
  6. Heres what I have. I love the thing, you can hot charge it, use it hot. Has a battery gauge too. Great product & its 28V. Only downside is the cost, but its worth it. http://www.milwaukeeconnect.com/webapp/wcs...rentProd=281126
  7. I have one of these and it works awesome. Never had an issue with it, kinda pricey but well worth it: http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCar...9966+1136401586
  8. With my SST's and Turbine Cores, when I just had pipes, K&N & airbox lid off I was at 310 on the mains, stock pilot & needle in the 4th clip. Jetting was spot on. However, all bikes respond differently. So your best bet is to throw some jets in (start around 300 on the mains) and do some plug chops. Thats really the best way to determine where you are at.
  9. How old is the gas in your tank?
  10. Check all your connections per Wallrats recommendation. 1st off check for spark. How are you advancing the timing? Adj Plate? Key? Aftermarket Ignition? If you are using a plate or a key I would pull the stator cover and check the wiring, something could have come loose or the flywheel may have rubbed on a wire.
  11. Here are some tips for you... 1. Buy a Clymers manual 2. Read the Clymers manual ok.. now for the good stuff: The best way to determine when its time for a new top end is to check the compression periodically, to do this you will need a reliable compression checker for this. Some top ends can last a long ass time. For premix Yamalube works fine for most all banshee applications, I used it for a while, now I am using SuperM but it all comes down to preference and smells. But Yamalube is cheap and works. As far as regular maint. well... I change the tranny oil after every other trip and I use BelRay Gearsaver 80w Oil for my tranny. Wash the bike after every trip and clean the airfilter after every trip. After washing the bike start it up to burn up any moisture that may have worked its way in somewhere. Then go over the bike and check all the bolts to make sure none have rattled loose (it will happen, even with locktite those bastards will rattle loose). Then go over all the zerk fittings and pump them full of grease. These are high performance bikes, but can be very reliable if you maintain them properly. But the main thing you want to do is get the Clymers manual.
  12. At +7 Timing what octane were you running... have you checked compression?
  13. I got it! I was able to wedge an scissor jack in between the swingarm and the subframe at an angle... jacked it up and its 99.9% better. Took literally 2min to do... I spent 3 hrs earlier in the day beating it to death with a BFH which did nothing.
  14. TORS = Throttle Override System = Worthless Piece of Junk TORS was designed to prevent the throttle from sticking, it causes more problems than its worth.. just disconnect it and then go out and get a TORS eliminator kit.
  15. Its all about preference. I personally like BelRay Gear Saver 80w. You will get a ton of different responses on this one. I would just search the boards and read all the previous posts on this topic. There are many great oils out there.
  16. Like Banshee17Racing said, you dont need to bore unless you need to bore. My last rebuild I didnt need to rebore I just needed a hone since the cylinders were fine. As far as costs go you could get the piston kit with gaskets for $160 at Magic Racing and a last time I had to bore it cost me $35 per cylinder (hone is $25 but all depends on the shop). So my last complete topend including bore cost me ~$250. Putting it all together is simple, just make sure you take your time and dont rush it.. you dont want to have any air leaks or you can kiss your new top end goodbye.
  17. Well.. trying to bend the subframe back into place and its not going as planned. I took the rear grab bar off and slipped the handle of a floorjack over the end where the bar bolts on... all its doing is bending the part where the grab bar bolts on... any ideas?

  19. Its a good mod.. allows you to rev up quicker.. however.. if you ride tight tight trails you will loose revs alot quicker... but I would say its an awesome cheap mod.. gets you into the powerband faster.
  20. I will think about it.. just 2 of us going out there.. so it may be nice to camp with someothers... u gonna have your 2way on?
  21. If everything goes to plan I will get there Late Thursday night... probably going to be pretty packed on Gecko so not really sure where Im camping yet. But it will be somewhere around Gecko.. would go with the washes but have never camped over there so dont really want to venture out there at night when I dont know where im going.
  22. Yeah I may be close to your camp. I remember where its at so I will definitly swing by over New Years... and the tow might come in handy!
  23. Wow.. thanks for all the input guys! So the verdict is that the next size up is 9/16-18 or 5/8-11 correct?
  24. Well. that really sucks, I just had the cases apart a month ago and just finished putting the bike back together again. Hopefully the bike will make it through new years without the plug falling out dont have the time to disassemble and reassemble before new years.. I did use red locktight on the treads this time so hopefully it stays put and at my next oil change I will split the cases and get this fixed.
  25. All about Lucky Lager and Papst Blue Ribbon!!!!!! ehem.. on a serious note my favorite mexican beer is Tecate... favorite american beer is the local brand of Karl Strauss.
