I just warm it up at idle and let it cool down then check the torque. I do this about 3 times then ride her for about 5-10min at 1/2 throttle, then I just open her up. Never had an issue.

Probably a hopeless question, but last trip I had 2 identical cans one had 50/50 race and 91 mixed 32:1 and one was straight 91 mixed 32:1. I labeled the cans out there with duct tape but now I cant figure out which can was what. My banshee needs the 50/50 and my dirtbike needs the regular... any way to tell.. both look the same color... or do i just need to dump both and start over, the gas is only like a week old and both cans are full.
-
I just do the same i do with my dive masks, just spit on em, wipe the spit around and wash it out... good for a trip.

Actually.. that is a dolphin in that picture. You can tell by the shape of the dorsal fin. And I have pretty much shit my pants a few times while surfing and a fin pops up about 2 feet away.. takes a second for your brain to figure out that its a dolphin.. so you just kinda shit yourself. Ooops... did I spoil all the fun.

Wow, riding through the city must be fun. What would also be fun is you taking a grammer and spelling class. I can barley understand that scribble you call a post.

Hmmm... lots of diesel lovers here. I must say I think they are pretty hard to beat. Now I am set of getting 4x4... already listed my current truck.... but maybe im just not ready for the diesel yet I mean a toy hauler would be at least a year away and I would probably start with a small 19 footer or something.... so maybe ill just get another tundra and when I need the pull out the big guns I will go get a monster diesel. The new '07 tundras are suppose to be coming out in a few months and are going to have a 5.7 V8 in them with a 10,000 Towing Capacity, however I dont trust new cars in there first few years so maybe ill buy one in 2009.
-
Yeah the service manager of my local ford dealership is a friend of mine and I spoke to him a little bit ago and he said the new 6.0 PSD are pieces of sh*t and not to even consider getting one. SO.. scratch that... thinking more and more a diesel may be a little overkill for what I am looking for... do any of you have 4x4 tundra's? I just want to be sure that the 4x4 will help me tow a trailer better in the soft sand of glamis.
-
Well.. my main concern is just being able to tow out in the sand with a toybox loaded to the trucks tow capacity without gettting burried. If you think a tundra can do that then I am all set.
-
I dont have the stock tires anymore. Bottom line is with a trailer hooked up to the truck there is not way im moving on the sand.. without the trailer the tundra does ok with 2WD.. but I really am wanting the 4x4... saves alot of hassle.... now as far as the diesels go, thats more for future planning... i just dont want to be sitting here in 2 years wanting a 30ft toy hauler or something and not being able to tow it because my truck doesnt have the juice.... now... honestly, I really despise ford trucks, but toyota doesnt have any big trucks.

Little off topic, but i got pretty frustrated digging my 2WD Tundra outa the sand at glamis all weekend long. Wanting to get a 4x4. Was thinking about just getting another tundra but with 4WD instead of 2WD because I love this truck, handles great and has good power for what I need. Another option I am looking at is getting a F-250 Turbo Diesel. Here are my thoughts, for the moment the tundra can tow pretty much everything that i currently own. However looking down the road I am thinking of getting a toy hauler and dont really want to be all that restricted. The tundra could probably pull a nice size hauler, but I dont want to be in the position I am in now, having a fairly new truck that just cant do what I need it to do (and right now thats getting outa the sand). What are all your thoughts? Do many of you have Ford Diesels? How do they hold up? How are they on fuel? Any of you have 4x4 tundras? How well can they tow through the loose stuff? I want something that isnt going to break down on me. My tundra has been great, I have beaten it pretty good and it still drives like the day I got it. Price wise they are almost identical. Actually the F-250 being cheaper... but that doesnt mean that much to me.

Dont know if this is old news for you all or not (didnt see it posted). But here are the details from a death at Glamis on Friday morning. By reading through all the posts it sounds like it was someone from the East Coast Group (Pad 2 with the Semi Trucks). Someone got a life flight out today near us (Pad 3) but I didnt hear about this until I got home. Here are the details: http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index....showtopic=68434

Race gas isnt all that expensive especially if you are running 50/50. Going to 22cc domes is an option but you will loose the low end you gained by bumping the compression.
-
I know that 32:1 is 5 gallons of gas & 156.25 milliliters of oil.. not sure about 33:1... go buy a ratio rite takes the guess work outa it.
-
Like I said I was just guessing at the 50.. so take ducmans advise and measure that piston.
-
I toasted a set of pistons with 21cc dones by just using pump gas.. if you are hearing pinging then i'd go 50/50 with pump and race gas.. better to be safe than sorry. Detonation will get you pretty quick.
-
Start her up and at idle spray her down with some carb cleaner or starter fluid.. spray the boots, reed cages, bottom of the cylinder and see if it rev's up at all. If it does then you got yourself an airleak.
-
Guys correct me if im wrong but: 50 means .50 MM so that would be .020 inches or 20 over.
-
If you disconnected the black box then you are all set. I would suggest getting the TORS elimination kit so you can get those bulk carb tops off of there.
-
Sounds to me like you are talking about the idle screw... is this a big screw thats sticking out at a 90 degree angle off the side of the carb? Or are you talking about the small airscrew thats at like a 45 degree angle?
-
Look at the Tundras & Titans... will last a hell of alot longer than the Fords, Chevys and Dodges. Just thought I would light a small fire.

The shee is not running right in 6th gear
watkins replied to bansheeigo's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If you are running 6th gear pinned then your bowls may be running out of fuel. Just a thought. Only cons to raising teeth in the back or dropping them in the front is that you will loose some top speed. I drop one in the front when I head to the dunes and I really like it, when back on the hard pack I go up to stock again. -
Pretty vauge question. What kind of pipes are you looking for? There are low-end, mid, top-end & overall pipes. This topic has been covered dozens of times, try searching.
