  1. They are comparable to a cheetah setup without the power-valves. The Twisters make a very nice smooth torq curve. They are an iron sleeve, and these particular sleeves can be taken all the way out past 75mm, so there are LOTS of bores left in these cylinders. They have a lot stronger head-stud layout than stock and cub cylinders and seem to handle spray very well. The twister cylinders also have triple exhaust ports and boost ports on the intake side. They have better coolant flow and capacity characteristics than the cub cylinders do. They do come with lower port timings than the CP cylinders come with. They are CNC machined, not cast. They come from the CNC with quite a bit of material left in the exhaust and transfer area, which gives the end user a little more to work with for custom porting for whatever their application may be. Twister cylinders also have changeable intakes and exhaust flanges. You can run banshee reeds all the way up to YZ250 reeds depending on which intakes you get, and you can run small-flange or big-flange exhaust on them. In short, these particular cylinders would be comparable to a 4mil cheetah setup of the same size.

  3. I've got a mean torqy beast of a dune setup for sale in the for sale section right now. 4mil twister already aggressive dune ported by HJR with cases port matched and bored, brand new top end kit, fresh bore/hone. Never been assembled. check it out... The twister cylinders make some amazing torq.
  4. Have a professional welder weld the stud hole up, then re-drill and re-tap. You will probably have to have a machine shop deck the top of the cylinders after the welding. After the decking you will probably have some positive deck height on the pistons and will need to get some cut domes or a thicker base gasket to take up the deck height.
  5. good gas? tried new plugs? give the carbs a good cleaning... check compression?
  6. I've run them. Never had any problems. But I've heard of people who have had crank and trans failures due to the bearing to case clearances. - Jared
  7. I hope you don't run them like that with the breathers hooked to each other.
  8. You can almost always notice little variances on the stator side where they machine the outside edge of the cases for the stator cover as well. The matched sets line up damn near perfect, the un-matched sets never line up perfect. - Jared
  9. Kevin is freaking awesome! Keep up the good work man!
  10. I'd have snop do it. I'm pretty sure he's done enough of them to get you a nice curve.
  11. Guys, I'm not parting the stuff out unless I have buyers for everything. If you want the pipes to be sold individually, find me a buyer for the rest of it...
  12. $1500 for the cases and cylinders and $300 for the pipes.
  13. Probably the ported set, if the porting is good. bores don't give you much power change unless you go from a pretty small bore to a lot bigger bore. Very little difference between simple over-bores.
  14. Don't be afraid to throw offers out too... Just don't low-ball me too bad. - Jared
  15. Only if I have a buyer for everything else. That is the only way I am parting it out.
  16. Twister Small-Block Cylinders 71.5mm Bore x 58mm Stroke (4mil) 465.8cc Brand new bore/hone/porting. Never been assembled! Agressive Dune Port by Kevin @ HJR. 25cc Domes. Brand new Wiseco top end kit. Cases bored & port-matched to cylinders. Cases glass-bead blasted & cleaned. Shearer SB SF IF drag pipes. small ding near flange on one pipe small mark where pipe was rubbing against head scuff marks where someone got extra happy with scotch-brite pad normal wear from dune riding for 2 years $1800 for everything. Shipped. The only way I am parting it out is if I have buyers for everything. can include stock transmission for an extra $100. PayPal only Shipping & full insurance included in price. I bought it used and had Kevin do the bore/hone/porting/new top end kit/case boring. Kevin told me this top end would make HP up into the 100's pretty easy with the shearers and some good carbs. Only reason for selling is I'm more into sand rails now and all my buddies have sold their banshees or don't go out riding any more. Pipes are a little dirty in the pics, but I will clean them up as best I can before shipping. The cylinders go for $1500 new, un-ported. So, basically you are getting HJR's aggressive dune porting, cases, case boring, case port-matching, and shearer pipes for $300. The cylinders have a fresh bore/hone/top end kit... ready to put together and go! Here are a few pics. I can take any pics anyone would like to see, just ask! Here's a slideshow with all the pics... http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii14/WyoBanshee/Twister%20Sale/?albumview=slideshow
  17. Its geared low for the oregon hill-climbs and idiot holes.
  18. I did a bottom end rebuild walk-through. Its a sticky at the top of the repairs and mods section. Check it out if you have any questions on the rebuild.
  19. Send it to kevin at Herr Jugs and get it done right the first time. You won't be disappointed.
  20. Yank the hose and solder the hose barb shut. Problem solved. I've been running them like that for years. Never had a problem.
