Trade for 06 YFZ450?

Interested in using it as partial trade for a 450?

Some people have posted where we live in WAY too many threads, and anyone who's been around HQ for more than a couple days can probably tell you where most of the regulars live. If you must know... Rock Springs, WY Closest city to the LEAST ridden 10,000+acre sand dunes in the country. I'm a regular at the dunes and have been the ONLY person in the entire place more times than I can count.

I ran the RZ transmission in ol blue and loved it!

Who did the port work? Interested in a YFZ?

Thanks, I would appreciate that. I keep getting the same sorts of offers. All the guys with the banshees with just pipes, filters, head and reeds want to trade straight up. Hmmm... my 450 that's worth over 5k for your shee that's worth MAYBE 3k Yeah... lets trade straight across... I'm like you... I don't have a problem losing a little money on the deal, but that's retarded. None of them are willing to throw any cash in is what bugs me.

I'm trying to trade mine as well man. Not many people have shown interest in mine, but mine's pretty much stock. Maybe you will have some better luck. :shrug:

There's already one out there I did a while back. Its not a complete walkthrough, but gives you an idea of what's involved in doing it. Some of the pics aren't the best, but you get the idea. One thing I got a lot of complaints about was that the engine was really nasty dirty when I tore it apart, so I would make sure I have a really clean engine before I ever started to tear this one apart.

Bump. Anyone else have offers / trades? Would like to see another shee in its place. Have any other pics?

Alright, I pondered the idea of doing the whole CD / DVD thing with splitting the cases and selling it, but there is a patent on that already and I couldn't do it. BUT I am thinkign about doing it with my new shee, just for information purposes. Its a totally stock engine, totally. So I know a lot of people wanted the splitting the cases walkthrough done with a stock bike, so this would be a good opportunity to do it. Teardown AND re-assembly. It probably wouldn't happen until after christmas time due to time restraints, but I'm curious if anyone woudl still like something like this to be done, with a CLEAN, totally stock engine, teardown AND re-assembly pics. I couldn't sell it because the patent someone else has on that sort of thing, but I can just post it up as a freebie for everyone. No shortcuts, all with the proper tools so you can see how its supposed to be done.

I'm working on a frame right now and I moved it up behind the radiator, down kinda by where the TORS junk used to be. Works good and if you are smart in routing the wires will have no problem with anything melting on the pipes up in front. That bracket isnt really that hard to cut and move if you have access to a welder. Good find though! Would be nice to have a bolt-on bracket in some cases. :beer:

If I can score a white IMS tank for my new banshee i will probably switch it over to methanol when I get it built up. We get methanol for free out here, so why not!? :beer:

I was running 17cc and 18cc domes on pump gas in the past. But I run at a WAY higher altitude than most people.

Take your stock one to a good machine shop, have them cut it and weld an extension in there. Shouldn't take more than an hour to do by a good welder and just as good as aftermarket. Just be sure you have a competant shop do it so it stays straight.

That flagpole campground looks a little more sane than some of the other parking areas I always see pictures of.

I tried running them when I was a cheap bastard in high school in my 87 and they shattered after about 5 hours of riding and destroyed my top end. I will never go near them again.

We wrote a program that did similar crap, but less harmful when I was taking my computer science courses. We set one progam up that would just shut the computer off. Got all kinds of faculty with it. LOL

Looking to trade my 450 for another banshee. 06 model basically stock other than an ebay intake and baffle removed. Runs awesome, never even had the cam mod done to it. Looking for a banshee of equal value or a lesser banshee + some cash. There are pics and some other info on it in the for sale section if you would like to see pics. Thanks, - Jared

LOL that wouldn't be too hard right now man. Both of my rides are pretty much stock. Ha Ha! I build them up, ride them for a while then sell them. Its probably what I will do with the 06 shee I just got. I almost enjoy working on them more than I do riding them. Wish I could get a job working on them! Anyway... have fun out there!

Do you have any other pictures of it? I like that you already have a cub.
