  1. Yeah, know about purging. Thanks. Don't know if they are called dial-a-jets or power jets or what, but its those little screw dealy guys that suck fuel from the bowls and feed it into the carb up top. I have a pingle and massive billet bowls on the carbs so I'm not at all worried about sucking it dry, just have to watch my fuel level when I'm out duning around. I'm at 7500ft so I imagine a .110 will be plenty rich. Not worried about shelf life of the alky, I can get it for free where I ride, and don't really plan on keeping a lot around the place, unless I'm going to walden or my ranch, then I will stock up before I go. Thanks for the advice, I will try a .110 when I go out riding on my next days off. - Jared
  2. Read this, went upstairs and downloaded the latest update from live and nothing wrong with mine.
  3. Oooh! Super-glue your cylinders on!
  4. Alright, got that new banshee I posted in the images section. Anyway... it has 35mm Keihin Airstryker Alky carbs, and I have no experience with jetting alky. I know you can run them REALLY fat and the bike doesn't care for the most part, so I know to start rich as hell. Oh yeah, has dial-a-jet thingies in it too... 4mm stroke 35's w/ K&N Pods 4
  5. Any local machine shop or a good automotive shop should have heli-coils. they basically screw into the threads you have and act as a smaller thread for a smaller bolt. Another option is take it to a welding shop and have them fill in your holds with aluminum weld, then find a drill/tap that matches the OEM bolts and re-do it yourself or have a shop do it for you. Just make sure you get them in the right place. Ha Ha!
  6. I'd say its more experience than anything else. The more you do it the better you get at it. I play around with welders almost on a daily basis some weeks. I'm no pro, but I'm pretty happy with what I can do on my own. I know I save myself a lot of money doing my own work most times.
  7. TIG
  8. I speak only the truth! I would recommend you to anyone who asks for a vendor!
  9. Man, if I were in cali I would be standing at your door. LOL I have a 60" or 62" (can't remember) sony 1080i HD and love it.
  10. That reminds me of the twin saber K&T has. LOL Ridiculous!
  11. Just wanted to give a big thanks to mike at magic performance. What an awesome guy! It was great dealing with you man, and I will check with you first on any performance stuff I need to order again. It was fun hanging out with the group and sharing our crazy walden stories too! Thanks again man! To everyone else, if you are in the wyoming / colorado / nebraska / kansas / utah / any other surrounding states, or any state for that matter, I would give mike a call or PM him about stuff if you are looking for any aftermarket parts. Great guy to deal with and freaking awesome! Plus he's right out there with us riding and racing what he sells. his name here on the board is majicmike
  12. Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm no professional by any means. I know enough to get by and that's about it. Yes, you should weld the inner AND outer webs if you get it done. This crank was trued before I welded it. There's some other pictures of different welding I've done, especially on the frames, in other parts of the HQ.
  13. You can weld the inner web as well, but yeah, that's pretty much it.
  14. As stated above, the pin that holds your connecting rods is welded to the outer web. It prevents the crank from pulling apart when you start to bump up compression and timing. Its also a safety thing you should do to any crank to prevent it from comming apart anyway. You will need a TIG welder to do it yourself. A competant machine shop and do it for you no problem. Here's one I welded up last night at work... Nothing really too fancy. Its going in a stock stroke, stock compression bike that won't ever see anything higher than stock-ish compression so these welds will be plenty for it. On other cranks that will see a lot more compression and timing I use a little more heat to get better penetration.
  15. Imagine the girl delivering the burger giving you mouth to mouth after your heart attack. Mmmmm LOL
  16. I'll post pics of it when I get it home and clean it up a litlte bit, but its worth a straight trade IMO. Plus he's getting something he wants as well, so its a good deal.
  17. I'd eat a burger and a girl.
  18. PM's are still not working for me. =( Plus, and I'm sure you already know of this, some pages are displaying on the new forum and others are showing up on another version fo the forum. I'm sure you know what I mean...
  19. Sorry guys, going to pick up a shee in trade for my YFZ tuesday night. Found someone close to me who had something worth trading straight across for. Thanks for looking! - Jared
  20. The dunable I had when I put it next to the override I have the shift drums were different. Dunno, didn't bother to measure or anything, the drums were different though. the dunable uses springs as well. - jared
  21. You guys should try the RZ transmission. Granted, I have a lot of work done to my transmission that I did myself and it shifts soooo smooth. I love it. Look for the video in the video section where I run up our drag hill. I buzz through the first 5 gears going up our hill real quick. - Jared
  22. My phone is being really gay right now, but I would like to talk with you about your shee. Any way we could shoot back and forth on emails until I can get my phone working right? I know we are pretty close to eachother so trading wouldn't be any kind of problem. - Jared
  23. I agree man, I would be the one paying you some $$ for a trade of that magnitude. I wanted dunedeamon's bike too! That was one CLEAN ride. I'm hoping I can make my 06 banshee look that clean whe my next build is finished.
  24. You looking to trade your banshee brad? I've got a 450 I'd like to make a banshee in the garage as well. If bigboy's deal goes through locally, I would be happy to deal with you if you are interested. 06 YFZ 450 runs awesome, no BSing about condition or anything. - Jared Not trying to hijack your thread man. I kow we are both looking for the same sort of deal. Feel free to hit up any of the guys who are in my threads...
