  1. I'd let her ride around with me on the red banshee. She would have to give a little something to ride on ol blue with me when I had that one though. LOL!
  2. I just ordered it with a bunch of different stones. One set was a "rough stone" the other was a "finish stone" the finish stone more resembles a wet stone for sharpening knives. Dunno what the roughness value on it is or anything, but its a finer stone that the one I used for the pics above. I will post a comparison picture of the rough stone vs. the finish stone and what they do to the cylinder once I finish up later tonight. Right now I'm just taking a break and watching some TV and shit.
  3. Well fancy that, I happen to work at a machine shop! LOL! You are talking about either way oil or soluble oil. I would imagine way oil would work better.
  4. The chrome shop I use can chrome aluminum as well, just costs a little more. So pretty much everything on your bike COULD be chrome if you had the $$.
  5. WHERE ARE PICS!?! he he
  6. Yeah, I was going to get one of those things you are talking about before I settled on this unit. This one is very nice and seems to have pretty good quality in its construction and has interchangeable stones and wipers for different applications, so I figure it was a pretty good deal. - Jared
  7. I was about to freak out until I saw that J/K note. LOL! I actually know some people who "hone" like that. They always wonder why they go through a set of rings after about 30hrs. "Dude, I don't know why my cylinders aren't round..."
  8. Yeah, those pics are before the finishing stone was used. LOL! I use the oil it recomments in the instructions, can't remember the name.
  9. For dune riding the CPI in-frame drag pipes hands down, if you want more mid-range for duning go with the T5's Drag Racing I would go with shearer, CPI, Rockets, RDZ's pipe that looks like the rockets (can't remember name, sorry) Trails I would go with fatty's or T5's either one will do pretty good. MX I would do Paul Turner Mids or the 2 into 1 dynoport. I hear the DMC Alien pipes are pretty good for trails and MX as well. I run CPI's on everything I have.
  10. Just run it on methanol. No worries of it getting hot. LOL!
  11. No, its an actual honing tool.
  12. Sounds good man. Bump for Polish! Good luck with the sale! Someone will get a sweet ride! Up Up Up ^^^^
  13. That sounds like a lot of paddle to me. But after hearing he had a 13 on there, I'm thinking maybe its something else like jetting as loco and rippen said above. If it has a stock swingarm, 21" 10 paddle, that's going to get a lot of traction and is going to take a lot of power to jump right into the powerband and not fall on its face off the line. Especially if you are taking off in 2nd gear.
  14. Got a new honing tool. I've used those goofy little ball hones up to this point and I'm sick of them. Spent a few extra bucks and got a better one. I can change inserts out for aluminum, cast iron, etc. and it has cleaning brushes to catch the crap that comes off the cylinder, so cleanup is a breeze. Here's a set of dune-port cylinders I just did today. - Jared EDIT: Forgot to say... got it on ebay! Already honed like 5 sets of cylinders. LOL!
  15. Cool, thanks guys!!
  16. Sweet! Sounds like we both made out pretty good on our 450 trades.
  17. Putting that new top end in my methanol bike here in the next couple weeks some time. Is it cool to do the break-in heat cycles and stuff on alky or should I throw on my gas carbs to do it?
  18. Post up that parts list so people know what its got... Edit: I love that fat seat!
  19. For all the work you are going to be doing, just send them out to get chromed. No worries of rust (if the shop does a good job) and they will prep it, strip paint off, chrome and polish it for you.
  20. If you have done a compression check and its good, checked for air leaks, made sure you are getting good spark... then it might just be a jetting problem. Jump over to the jetting and exhaust forum and post up your mods and what your jetting is over there and I'm sure someone will jump in and tell you if you are in the ballpark. You might check out the Jetting FAQ at the top of the jetting and exhaust forum. - Jared

  22. Just crank down on it until it strips or snaps.... When you get there, that's too much. Don't go that far. LOL! ::
  23. Whats the problem, we can probably tell you just about anything you need to get up and running again if you don't mind doing the work yourself. Save yourself some bones....
  24. Before you go thinking its internal, just pull your clutch cover and remove your clutch. Maybe something cot out of whack on your shift star or the shifter adjustment is wore out or broke off. Pull the clutch cover and check stuff out.
  25. I took shrink-wrap and wrapped our principals entire car in it. The whole damn thing. Took almost an hour to do, but we had so many layers you couldn't even tell it was a car any more.
