  1. I almost spit pepsi all over my screen when I read that RIPPEN. Thanks! Ha Ha Ha Ha! Good one! I'm compiling video right now, check out the video section here in like a half hour and video of it will be up! - Jared
  2. Cylinder Piston. Think I can just re-ring it and be ok? I think so. Here's after cleaning out the crank trench and stuff. Dome Before. Dome After. Cylinder after hone. All this happened today between 1pm and 6pm. I just got home from the shop after honing and turning the dome. All in all not a bad disaster. Easy to fix and cheap. Really wish I knew what actually happened. Bike ran great for over 3 hours before it just let loose. You can see by the other cylinder that it was running pretty good. I don't think it was an issue with jetting with the methanol I think it was something else that let loose. Who knows... guess I have to put it back together and go back out and try it again! Ha Ha!! I am putting together some video clips I got of me and rick riding it today and I will put it up in the video section when its done. Should be up later tonight. If anyone things my shit doesn't break just like anyone elses, here's the proof otherwise! ROFL! - Jared
  3. Alright, took it out to the dunes today to play around a little bit. First off, let me say... HOLY SHIT! That thing is retardedly fast. I love it! Not much at all down low but the upper mid-range and top end are ridiculous. This thing feels like it hits harder than ol blue did for sure. Ran great all day long. Played around with the jetting a little bit when I first got there and had it pretty well dialed in. Was running as good as I was going to get it with the needle and jets I had with me. I know I was still rich because it would sputter up on top. Other than that it felt great. Put a new clutch in it too! Second run up our big drag racing hill I realized I definitely need a lockup clutch setup for this thing. Took off hard in 2nd gear and when I grabbed 3rd and got back into the throttle you could feel it slipping a little. I definitely need WAY more than 9 paddles too! Thing doesn't hook up and go until 4th gear. I was running back and forth across a flat spot and was spinning around screwing off then took off in a straight line again. I missed a shift between 3rd and 4th gear and it revved up pretty high, then I got it into 4th and went to get back on the throttle and it fell flat on its face. Made a WONDERFUL little clank clank sound then died. I let it sit for a few min then kicked it over and it fired back up so I limped it back over to the truck about 400yds away. Pulled my plugs to see what they looked like... Left cylinder looked PERFECT, right cylinder not so much. Had aluminum deposits all over the plug, some nice gray shit all over the plug and the eletrode was smashed closed. Ha Ha Ha! Loaded it up into the truck and wen to the shop. Tore the top end apart to see what let loose... Looks like the skirt shattered and caused the mayhem. Trashed a dome, total loss on the piston and wristpin bearing. Cylinder however showed pretty much no damage. Had some aluminum on the walls and a few litlte scratches, other than that no damage. I'm so glad I work in a machine shop! Took the dome over to one of the small lathes we have and spun about .001" off of it and it cleaned up pretty good. I don't have a problem running the dome in the condition it was in after I turned it, so that was good. I ran our diamond hone through the cylinder and cleaned it all up. Just have to order an o-ring kit for the head, new piston for the right side and I'm good to go. Here's what I think happened... it was only 15
  4. Yeah, I never had mine pull anything back from the overflow either. Mine has been yanked out forever and I've never had any issues with it being gone.
  5. That's what mike suggested to me, but I like to give my stuff those little personal touches and felt that having a translucent container for my purge container would give it that touch. I changed the T around like you suggested. Looks like it would work better than how I had it hooked up. Good Call again! - Jared
  6. LOL, didn't think of it like that! I will try and switch it around and see how that works. ROFL I just threw it in there to see how it would look more than anything right now. The tank is bone dry, as are the carbs. Ha Ha! Good call! - Jared
  7. That's one of the tricks I do to my transmissions! LOL RZ transmission, needle bearings, shift star mod, some little mods to the drum itselt, some stuff with the forks... people love the way my blue banshee would shift. Soooo smoooth. Someone should get this, its a good mod! - Jared
  8. That's how it went with my cub... got the crank, reeds, head, pistons, cubs, gaskets... then new pipes, then carbs, then swingarm, then another set of bigger cubs, then new domes, then different carbs, then modded my frame, then new clutch setup, new transmission.... it got really ridiculous. I have a frame on the way that I am going to build a custom rear end for, to take everything off of the red bike and put on a new frame. Plus I can get the new frame PC'd before I start putting stuff in it. LOL! - Jared
  9. You will love the 4mil for dune riding and the CPI's are the best pipe for general dune riding IMO. I ran CPI's on my blue banshee and I will run them on my red one, and I will have CPI's on my white banshee more than likely when go to build it up. The white banshee will probably also end up with the 4mil. But keep in mind the added cost of everything else that goes with the 4mil setup... carbs, swingarm, porting, head/domes, top end kit... yadda yadda.
  10. Alright got this awesome little valve (not really a valve, but a 5-way T) from majicperformance. Its set up so you can run your pingle outputs and your race gas purge tank all into one, and have it all flow out to the carbs. I tried to make a small aluminum tank I could mount permanently to my bars and put my purge gas in when needed, but ended up making it too big. So I ran down to our local out-doors store and bought a 16oz nalgene bottle and drilled a hole in the bottom for a barb fitting. Epoxied it in there. Now I'm trying to figure out a place I can mount the bottle and keep it on the red banshee. It won't have race gas it it until I'm ready to purge, so it will just be empty when I'm running methanol. When you are ready to purge you just shut off your pingle and fill the remote 16oz tank with race gas and run the bike until the methanol is out of the system. I just wanted to show the little 5-way T I got from mike at majicperformance. Its an awesome little setup and really high quality. I suggest it to anyone who's running alky. Hit up majicperformance for prices and availability. Thanks guys! - Jared Here's the T Here's my purge tank. (still trying to find a place I can mount it... thinking about the side of the radiator plastics) Here's how I installed the fitting down by the carbs. You can see the two lines comming from the pingle and the two going to the carbs and the last line goes up under the plastics up to above the bars for now. Here's the resevoir attached to the 5th hose. Another shot of the install. Last one.
  11. Come on People! That thing looks sweet!
  12. Yeah, if I do this again, I will be doing it with my brand new 06 banshee. Would go from having the bike sitting there in the garage to total tear down with pictures along the whole way. Nice n shiny new, right off the show-room floor. I've only ridden my 06 like twice since I bought it. Maybe 5 hours worth of riding.
  13. LOL yeah, that was just something I've done in the past when I didn't have access to an impact gun. I said in the beginning not to follow it like a manual, just to give you some ideas of what's involved. Had a couple people complain about that. LOL My bad. If I do it again, I will use all the proper tools for sure, and would be going step by step through the clymer manual, just to sorta give you some pictures to go along with the book. - Jared
  14. Told ya his stuff is nice! Someone jump on this thing! Free bump for mike!
  15. Right when I thought things couldn't get any more retarded... lol
  16. No, thank you my man! Mike is an awesome guy to deal with, I recommend him to anyone out there! - Jared
  17. Bump for mike, I just got one of his banshee's and he doesn't BS, if he says they are nice, they are nice! Great guy to deal with! BUMP!
  18. Thanks man!
  19. OK tore the carbs all apart tonight and cleaned them... good thing I did. the .101 jets that were in the carbs actually measured out to .113. LOL After I saw that I pulled them completely apart so I knew what I was dealing with for sure. I got a bunch of my old jets and drilled them out since I was down at the shop tonight. Here's what I had on hand in the way of drill bits, so this is what I now have for jets.... .098 .101 .106 .110 .113 .120 .125 .128 Here's what I have in the carbs right now... Main: .120 Pilot: 58 Needle: EGN on middle clip Powerjets: 4 Turns out. K&N POD Filters, 7500ft and its about 35
  20. Put a second seat on the back and charge people for a ride to pay it off. LOL
  21. More than what's in my sig. LOL I just have a few toys. Sleds, ATV's, polaris ranger, kodiak, banshees... never enough!
  22. Can I do a plug chop like I would with gas on this thing? How do I check my jetting on alky? I don't even want to run this thing until I can get an idea of where I want everything to be with jetting. Now I'm thinking I will start with like a .120 main, but at my altitude I think it will be pretty rich at that. Everyone says rich is better though, so that's what I will do. I'm going to pull the carbs tonight and see what needles and pilots are in there and measure the dump tubes etc. Thanks for the help, keep the comments comming everyone! Oh yeah, and this is a 4mil stock cylinder ported (dunno by who yet) I will do a compression check tonight. I know timing is set at +4. - Jared
  23. I would just press it apart in our hydraulic press. Then re-weld it when i put it back together. - Jared
  24. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to split your cases and check your crank bearings for debris as well. That looks icky. Rod bearings could have crap in them... all sorts of fun stuff. Looks like it got hot and brittle and the top of the piston snapped off. Lean? Your cylinder probably needs bored, you MIGHT get lucky and have a hone clean it up, but check your piston/cylinder wall clearances and ring end gap when you get it put back together and make sure its ok. As for getting the stuff out... dunno man. If you don't have porting tools to clean it up a little bit, maybe a lot of hard work and some fine sandpaper? LOL Might be best just to send it off to get the next over-bore and whoever does the bore job should make sure its cleaned up before they give it back to you.
  25. Alright, I'm thinking about swapping the red and the white plastics off my two new banshees. Putting the white plastics on the red framed drag banshee and putting my red plastics on the silver framed stock 06 banshee. What you guys think?
