Sour Dealings with Majic Performance
BigRed350x replied to Bansh-eman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I traded a bike with mike a ways back and the trade deal went well, but a month or two later there was a lot of trash-talk that started up comming from mikes side, and it seemed to start when I took my business to lynn at LC performance. All in all, I never had any shitty deals from mike personally, our trade went well, but the shit-talking changed my view of him. Then he tried to tell me that the YFZ450 I traded him was burning oil and blah blah blah, which it never was when I traded with him. Then I ran into some guys at KP who had some really shitty dealings with him, which was where I found out he was putting some really shady used parts into engines he was selling people. NOT COOL. I helped them rebuild one of their engines and tune another that mike put together for them and said was "all set up, ready to ride" but was jetted all ridiculous. To top it off, mike claimed that the cylinders on the bike he traded me were ported by him when he fucked up kiels cylinders, but when I first traded my YFZ450 for the banshee I got from him he told me a place down in colorado called colorado powersports (or something like that, cant remember) did the porting. And after looking at the pictures of what he did to kiels cylinders I can garuntee everyone that mike did NOT do the porting on the cylinders that were on the bike I got from him. Long story short, from the people I've met and talked to and my personal dealings with mike, he's been telling people lies about his services and his products trying to make a dollar. Shady way of doing business and I can tell everyone straight up, I won't ever do ANY business with him ever again. I checked over the cylinders jon (bonbon) got from mike and I can tell everyone that those cylinders were NOT touched whatsoever. They were factory cast cub cylinders. I've had 3 different sets of cleanup and ported cubs from two different builders and have pics of all of them and I've also had more than a few sets of stock cubs through my hands and jon was scammed. He got a set of STOCK cub cylinders when he was told he would be getting cleanup ported cubs. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH MAJICPERFORMANCE. Mike lies to his customers trying to get a buck and tells lies about people who have taken business elsewhere after dealing with him. I've had great luck dealing with K&T (even though kim can be a dick sometimes), LC Performance, jeff at FAST, A&S... I have heard too many bad stories and seen too many lies from mike to ever do business with him again and suggest to anyone who asks to take business elsewhere. - Jared -
I'd figure around 2k to 2.5k for the cylinders, then intakes should be around $250 Depends on what kinda pipes... If the crank has some time on it and you end up needing it rebuilt, it could get pricey...

I can burn 7 gal of methanol in my duner in less than 2 hours at KP. I've gone through 20+gal in a day just cruisin the dunes.
-
Bump for a cool cat. I run these on my duner and my 10mil occasionally. Great pipes! These would compliment a cub setup perfect!

I'm amazed you dont make pistons yourself on some fancy cnc or something. lol! I know how the giving stuff away thing goes, been there, tried that. People just get mad at you if they dont get it.

How much and where you at? Pics?

I thought I blew a crank seal on my 10mm at sand mountain but it turned out to be sucking it through the square key on the primary drive gear on the crank, seal was fine. I've never seen it before and was befuddled when I put in a brand new key and still had the leak when I leak-down tested it. So I did what any respectable oil-field worker would do and gooped the square key up with hi-temp oil-resistant RTV shit and put it all back together. Pressure and Vacuum tested it at 20psi and it held fine. Ran it a couple times since then with no problems. Odd. My cases are matched to my porting on my cub cylinders and I think the worst I've done so far is blow a base gasket. Well, besides the whole blowing it up once already. I pulled one like dajoger did and leaned it out. Now I run a pingle and a fuel pump and I'm getting different carbs with billet bowls this winter for it. Its def. fun to dune on though.

Bump for a fast ride and a nice guy I'd still keep it. Take it to the mountain and you will never want to get rid of it. What size cub you going to go with, stock or 4mil? Jon's stock-stroke cub is a beast on the hills and makes a nice duner as well and isn't even done yet. lol -jared

Gusy on bikes are crazy

I've had a stock stroke, 4mm and a 10mm cub. The 10 is definitely the most fun. The 4mm was the best duner out of the bunch. In the sand I always felt like I was either shifting up or down, never really felt like I was able to just cruise. The 4mm didn't have that problem. (both were set up identical, on same chassis) Now I have a 4mm ported stock cylinder for the dunes and it runs right up there with most 4mil cubs. My 10mil cub is just for drag racing, but it finds its way out onto the dunes from time to time. I enjoy the stock cylinder ported 4mil more than the 4mm cub on the dunes. More midrange, but plenty up on top. I've got a friend with a stock stroke cub who rides with me a lot, hopefully he will chime in here. - Jared

Check cascade innovations I think it is... you can get that shaft for under $100. If you are careful you can re-use the c-clips and stuff yourself. Don't send it to a builder, you can do it yourself with a $30 flymer manual if you have any kinda know-how with mechanical stuff. - Jared

how tight can I torque the spark plugs ?
BigRed350x replied to STINKYDELUXE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
...you could always send your engine to me to have at higher elevations. I've got 18''s in my 10mil cub and could run it on 91 if I wanted to at my altitude. elevation sucks my wang. -
whats would a silverado 5.3 sound like
BigRed350x replied to smokin 2 stroke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I agree. Keep your exhaust on. Don't be a tool. Guys like that get pulled over around here for being tards with no exhaust and thinking they are "cool" Keep it on. -
Its probably not paint though. Granted I haven't seen them, but I'm pretty sure he uses some kinda vinyl or sticker application. The other kits he's done look good though, so you should be pretty happy. - Jared

I'd do the 20x11x10 9's. Might bite kinda hard for you, but if you ever stretch your swinger or go with something bigger you will already have the tires for it. The 9's will do good for you. - Jared

Firehead, design me a triple while you're at it. =) - Jared

In-frame or Out-Of-Frame? -
I cut mine for the pockets once and it blew out on my first ride. Haven't done it since then. I just trim them to match the case porting and call it good. I'm sure if you use a thicker gasket material it would hold up, but that will mess with your port timing and squish and blah blah blah... - Jared

Look like old snowmobile carbs. Definitely Mikuni round slides, and the fuel rail makes me think they are off an old street bike or snowmobile. - Jared
-
Its not that they have sharp edges, its the increased flow you get from opening up the cage.
-
if you dont want to spend the $$ for vforce reeds, port your stock reed cages...

I've got a set of the TM flat slide 34's bored out to 35.5 on my dune bike. When I converted them to methanol I went to sudco. They sold me only what I needed, I dunno why they would try and sell you 4 of anything. Try calling them again. Good carbs by the way! - Jared
-
Castor 927 is a good oil for use with methanol as well. Been running it in all my bikes and have had no problems with it.

Can someone messure your stock axle
BigRed350x replied to Bansh-eman's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It was kinda hard to measure since it was still in the carrier and brake rotor and junk were in the way, but I got about 36" even.
