  1. If it leaks gas or does not vent then they can be bad.
  2. The piston will actually be 65mm if that is was it is supposed to be. You can't accurately measure a bore with a pair of calipers as the measuring edges wind up bridging inside bore. You need a bore gauge, ID micrometer, or a set of telescoping bore tools to accurately measure a bore. In any case the bore should be larger than OD of the piston by an amount that is dicatated by the engine design, bore type (nikasil, chrome, iron, etc.), ring type, and piston composition. :geek:
  3. I may have to try that. I made the executive decision over the weekend to run OEM hoses on my blue bike............... :geek:
  4. I had to spend time over on PS instead..................I hate that place.
  5. A Banshee in OEM form is not a great handling machine. Aftermarket arms and shocks turns it intoa completely different animal. It can be an expensive thing to do all at once, but IMO it's worth it in the long run. If you ever want to check out a bike with middle-of-the-road dune setup, let me know, you can come check out my red bike. It handles and rides better than all, but two Banshees I have ever ridden.
  6. I agree..................However, if you can come up with someone who does CNC port work such as Twister, the variance between cylinders is not even worth talking about. :geek:
  7. ^^This guy probably has the most genuine/quality experience with a 2 into 1 pipe than anyone I know.
  8. Word.
  9. I break my engines in on an AC engine dyno using a load profile I refine pretty much every time I do it. I have been fooling around with some no-spark motoring techniques that have really improved ring seating on my nicasil bore engine. :geek:
  10. You have to give it the natural log.........
  11. I am not sure if he has it worked out yet. I may have another Denver trip in my near future, if I can help Greg.
  12. You just need another girlfriend (read: get 2 girlfriends).
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-YZF-...1QQcmdZViewItem I don't know the owner of this bike personally, but this bike (or a bike that looks exactly the same) has handed my red bike it's ass quite a few times at Olds.
  14. If you have an o-ringed chain, you may need to preload them a bit to assemble the master link. If you have a DID chain, I have found many of their master link clips to be out of tolerance, which makes it a bitch to assemble....................I remember this right about the time I shoot the clip across my garage or stab myself with pliers.
  15. Aside from the pirate hooker stuff, someone must have figured out how to take a Pingel Dual Feed Valve apart. I talked to Pingel about having mine refurbished, but they have about a 5 week back log of work at the moment.
  16. Home Depot has some high temp hose, but it's not preformed so it's not quite as easy to deal with as OEM hoses. :geek:
  17. Mine comes off every time with a couple taps of my rubber mallet. Besides, how many times are you guys taking your clutch covers off?
  18. I run mine in a loop, up to seat height and then down to the frame rail. This helps coalesce the oil as your transmission, engine, and clutch heat up.
  19. It goes back to a T fitting that is attached to your other case vent (under the rear engine mount). Unltimately both vent to the atmosphere. :geek:
  20. Snap On and MAC both have a reasonable set of ID bearing and seal pullers.
  21. Yeah, that's the downside to anti-sieze. If you ever need to completely remove it to get clean metal to intsall another chemical, you pretty much cannnot get it all the way clean. :geek:
  22. Anti-sieze isn't bad, but it's not what I was referring to. I was talking about a product that is similair to cylindrical sleeve and bearing lock, but in a paste form. It's something like a permanent loctite. Using the stuff is a good idea if you know what you're doing with stud installation and don't plan on removing and replacing the studs alot. :geek:
  23. I would switch that RTV out for some stud/pin installation compound........ :geek:
  24. Yeah.........then I would only be able to give parts to 14 year old smokers and then they would know where I lived.
  25. Word. Staying away from Rob and RDZ wouldn't hurt either..............unless you like getting filled up with BS before you gewt sc :ermm: rewed over.............
