anybody got one of these in good shape with no dents or chrome coming off. must be in good shape. Only need left side pipe. Has a dent by front hanger mount. Let me know what ya have. Thanks.
welcome aboard to the addiction. Once you start modding it never ends. I bought mine with pipes, jetting, k&n, etc and thought i would not have to do anything. Think again i said. But I love it.
Depending on where the broken bolts are at i would try a left hand drill bit and see if it will 'oull it out. Have had good luck in the past using them. alot depends on how long it has been broke off and how much rust is around it.
personally i would not own one. My first quad was a 250ex. It was fun to mess around with but after a while i needed something better and faster so i bought a shee. I you want to try something else that's up to you. Just do what ever you want.
When torqing down the head start out at 5, 10,15 and then final torque of 20 ft lbs. and recheck it after up to temp and cooled off. Make sure you follow the correct pattern for torquing them down.
I just put new grips on my pro-taper bars and they reccomend using pro-taper grip glue. Used it and they are stuck like hell. Probably will have to cut them off if i ever change them.
Post some pics after your done. I'm thinking about getting a +2 swinger but really can;t afford a aftermarket one. Does a +2 swinger mean it is longer than the stock by 2 inches or is it some other measurement?
The timing plate mod is well worth it. You will need a flywheel puller. DO NOT use anything else or you will destry your flywheel. If you can afford to leave the shee down for awhile I would have boonman lighten up your stock flywheel. I wish i could leave mine down for him to lighten it. If you have access to a air impact it will make life easier. You can get a flywheel puller just about anywhere. Set your gap on your pick-up coil to .020".
