I run the terry cable thumb throttle. It's got an easier pull over stock..but I don't particularly like it. It was cheaper then a new stock one so I can't really complain. I got a bad habbit of breaking the thumb levers off and stripping out the shafts.

After burning a few hundred dollars on a few diffrent ez pull clutch levers. I decided that the money I'd save in the long run might be worth a gamble at a hydro clutch. I'll never go back to a cable clutch setup. It's that good. Yes those that know..Know. Those that don't know..they don't know..until they do ..they'll never know. Hydro all the way.

So uh..How many people here served in the military? How many people here actully put their money where their mouth is? I know there are a few..But how many? I was with 9th bat 9/101 avn rgt out of Ft. campbell Ky. I was deployed to Iraq from 01Mar03 through 25feb04. I served 6 years in the army from jul98 to jul04. The only good I can say that came out of Iraq was that no matter how bad shit got..no matter what I knew my freinds to my left and right of me had my back and I had theirs. That was it. That's all there is to it. We didn't want to be there, we could care less about the politics involved. We only knew that we couldn't go home until the job was done. That's what we did. You must be pretty good if your running pro on a stock machine. I assume your running 2 stroke pro open class. Your good unless the other riders suck..or maybe there was only 6 entries in the race..or only 6 in your class and the line was filled with bikes from other classes. The best advise I can give you is don't worry too much about your motor. A set of V-force reeds and good pipes will give you plenty of power. Your best bet would be to upgrade your chassis. They make long travel suspension kits for the banshee now..wishe they made em' when I was building mine up...It should only cost you about 3-4 grand to dump a long trave +3 front end with 21in custom axis shocks with compression and rebound adjusters and a -1 roundhouse style swingarm with another custom axis shock in the rear. The shocks alone will run you over 2100 bones. But they are the best money can buy. Then go out and get a steering damper. You'll thank me later. Don't forget a nice extended axle in the rear to match the width of the front and your tires should be mounted on a set of carbon fiber wheels from hipertech with a 3-1 offset in the front to keep it within the 50 in AMA legal limit.

Mine is fine. I can switch all day long between 12-15 front sprockets without running out of chain adjustment length. I cut my chain to fit tight neutral on a 13 tooth sprocket as that's the middle setup.

I've had mine for a few years now. Yes the stock plastic hose will melt if it get's too close to the pipes..happened to me. But once you set it up right, you NEVER have to adjust anything until you run the clutch out..then you have to adjust the clutch internaly. The hydraulic cylinder offers LESS resistance then a standard cable setup plus the feel is so much better. You can run heavy duty springs and actuate the lever with one finger. Clutch return speed is in direct porportion to the spring tension on the plates.

I find the majority of stress cracks are located at the shock mount brackets and the foot peg mounts.

The tube is there to help with the pressure diffrence between the carbs at diffrent strokes during it's cycle. It makes jetting easier and helps with hesitation. Without that tube, you have to be SPOT on with your jetting and any deviation is greatly exagerated by the lack of flow between the two sides of the intake. The ballance tube does exactly what it says, balances the intake fuel/air charge between the two carbs.

Talk to your buddy in a year and ask him how is rod and crank bearings are. The only lubrication that that motor gets is what is mixed in with the oil. That's it. If you don't mind dropping in a new crank on a yearly basis, run a 100:1 mix. Me, I used to run a 40:1 mix but I went back to 32:1 after I replaced my crank for worn bearings.

I don't know where you get your info from. Banshee's are horribly out of ballance. All the weight is up front..which makes jumping a bit more of a chore. Yes a banshee will jump rather well, it just takes a better rider to jump it good. 400ex is a much better handling machine in the air. YFZ450, 450ex, LTF400..all of them are better jumpers as their weight is more evenly distributed. Look at anyone jumping a banshee, they are always hanging on the back trying to get the front end up. I know when I'm jumping, my weight is always on the ass end trying to keep the front end up. Now the banshee frame is garbage, stock, banshee won't last 3 months jumping hard. Tear everything up. The suspension simply can't handle it. And don't try to bullshit me ain't nobody here cleaing 50' tabletops on a stock shee. I'm only good for about 30-40 feet myself and that's on a good track. I'm running custom axis shocks with lonestar swing arms and A-arms and axle. I still get roughed up quite a bit. Frames last me about a year or so..Shocks get rebuilt yearly as well. My goal is to get a yfz 450 for MX and keep the shee for playing around. You just can't get enough travel out of a stock geometry shee. But it shure is fun to see the look on some kid's face as you smoke him on the track as he's riding an atv that daddy bought him thinking he's the shit. Best is when you smoke dirtbike riders.

Reed spacers increase the intake tract length. There are some theories involving pressure waves reverbrating in both the intake and exhaust. Pressure waves in the intake disturb fuel flow if they arn't timed right. Hence sticking clamp on on the back of your carbs actully hurts performance. Not by much. But reed spaces increase the intake length hence the wave takes longer to make a complete pass and it could help with fuel atomization..though the effects are negligable. I got my reed spacers to clear the 28mm pwk bowl vents from the clutch arm. 34 bucks is a hell of a lot better then say 300 for the pro flow intake system.

Just run reverse headers on your pickup with your shee in the back and drive up and down the roads all day. Then ask them what's better...ATV noise or blown small block chevy on race fuel.

You can rebuild the caliper.

What's the big deal?? 4 strokes today have closed the power gap..look at the yfz 450. Granted it is a bit more complex then your basic 2 stroke mil..but C'mon They're not that hard to work on. You still can keep the 2 strokes you already own, you just won't be able to buy new ones except for compation only machines. Deal with it. Get over it. This has been a long time coming. I think 11 years ago they passed this bill. Why do you think there has been such a big push in 4 stroke tech? It wasn't just an overnight "Hey by the way..2 strokes will be outlawed by 2006" type of thing. The debate has been going on longer then most of the members on this forum have been alive.
