Heat will help either nut come off. I tend to use it as a last resort since it ruins the finish. Make sure you rigidly hold the axle and use the most rigid tool to break it loose. If locktite was used slowly put a little heat to it and it will release the locktite before the finish on the nuts is ruined.

I just seen a graydon 2-1 intake on Ebay. Does anyone know how it compares to a Trinity? It looks like it would flow the air smoother but does the added intake volume slow the throttle response? I am playing with ideas for makeing my own 2-1 intake and just wanted some input.

It would be hard to improve what honda came up with to adjust the chain. I beleive all roundhousing carriers are the same size as hondas on the outside, they are different where the axle goes thru for different applications. There are many good brands out there, but you still have to pick what you want for bearings, single row (like stock) , dual row(4 bearings) or tapered.

Not on the dunes? Look closer. I run mine on the dunes and love them. You don't see them there because they cost more than a lot of other pipes. They have a power band hit, it isn't the only thing they have like high end pipes.

My wife has triple rates and I have a extra set of new triples for +2 that I bought new. You learn something everyday.

I've run long dune trails wooped out and haven't felt a fade in my dual rates. It might be different in the dirt but I would save the extra bucks for reservoirs. You can always add them to a set of Works if you want or think you need them.

I beleive matched cases are the original upper and lower case halfs that were machined by Yamaha at the factory. I think I remember something scratched in them from the factory to identify the set. Can anyone verifiy that?

isn't a 14 front stock?? what a tool! 282064 14 is stock. LMFAO 282169 I don't think 14 was stock in all years was it? I am going to try my paddles backwards next time at florence, maybe I'll push a 100MPH

The Z400 are far from a piece of crap. There a great all around quad.

Keep riding it the way it is til you figure out what you like. I saw more of a benefit with the a-arms. It makes turning on a steep hill more comfortable. I don't think a extended swingarm is needed til your substantially increase the HP.

Haulers 20-10 for general duning. Dirtwheels did a sand tire test just recently and compared slanted paddle tires and threw in a set of straight paddle haulers for a compairision. The haulers were perferred. I think that was one of the few things dirtwheels has ever got right.

Anyone know where to get disount OEM parts?
Lepew replied to bhatch21's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Your local dealership could probably match a 30 % discount, ask them. -
there is no one to my knowlege that mounts a round carrier to a stock swing arm without cutting and welding. It is possible to weld tabs to a round carrier tube and bolt it to a stock swingarm but it would make it longer.

I went with the ESR gauge. They come in a few anodized colors too. Well worth the price. A box knife and a screw driver and its installed.

Building your own A-arms and swingarm
Lepew replied to jeepman380's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If you are going to build you own suspension design it for you style of riding. Study and measure the stock front suspension it is key in getting a wider suspension geometry right. Know what your shock length and travel is before you start figuring. The swingarm is a cake compared to the a-arms. GOOD LUCK. -
In a 747 right before liftoff.

20-10-10 9 paddles are a good all around tire for a slightly modded shee. I have ran 8 paddles but there wasn't much hookup. The 22 ultralites are for the hillshooters, if you want to get to the top first I would suggest them but with a lot of other mods too.

I would trust this color chart. 97 plastic is grey not black. Sorry can't help on the colors the only white and red I owned was a 87.

God, or no god(not trying to offend ne one)
Lepew replied to sweetshee4312's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Theres me and God with no F*cking middle man. Organized religions tend to be corupt in one way or another. Just remember this country was founded by religious people who fought for their freedom of religion and speech and then preserved it for us. So the God in our government is a staple, but you don't need to beleive in him. It probably wasn't our founding fathers intentions to shove god down your throat when you swear on a bible or chant "one nation under God". -
Stupid qestion about mounting the radiator
Lepew replied to bansheeroller's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The two bolts on the side of the radiator go to a braket on either side that also the front plastic bolts to. To bad you scrapped the frame, there always worth something even as pieces. -
I assume your trying to solve a overheating issue. It seemed I always overheated when I rode hard at the dunes. I tried everything, new waterpump, head gasket, jetting, water wetter and finally I got the solution. I purchased a quality temperture gauge from ESR after seeing one on a freinds 250r. It is money well spent. On stale days or riding with the wind you don't get enough air thru the radiator, or when your ripping hill climb after hill climb. Coolheads, oversized radiators, aftermarket impellers, coolant additives all probably help try to cool it faster but a gauge will tell you when your banshee needs a break to cool down, perferrably pointed in the wind.

I've heard a banshee needs a rebuild about every 400 Hrs. It really depends on the conditions and how you maintain it. A person should check the compression and do a leak down test once in a while. I like to even pull the plug and and feel how much slop in the piston.

My wife has a diferant shift star in hers. It shifts easier, except between 1st and 2nd, and neutral is a frustrating little click never to be found. I don't know who made it or where it came from but my stocker works perfect on demand. If you have a chance to try one I would suggest it before you spend the money, that has been my experinence.

Inspect everything, have the crank checked, trued and welded and replace all the seals. Just a few suggestions.
