  1. I think unless I was strapped for money I would do a complete top end. Cheap insurance I wouldn't be stranded when I'm having fun.
  2. Motosports outlet was around $160 for wiseco balanced kit delivered with wrist pin bearings also.
  3. Modquad.com They make plastic and aluminum case savers. Never tried them but I liked the idea of a aluminum one.
  4. If your going to vegas stop by Quad Central II. They had some cool bikes when I was there.
  5. 20-10-10 9 paddle. Hook up plus a flat paddle to help if I slide. There isn't a perfect tire. If its wet I wish I had 8 blades when it's dry I can't seem to hook up like I want.
  6. I don't ride in the mud and if I was worried about weight I wouldn't ride a banshee. I'll probably still look at the a/c nerfs for a final judgement. For my casual riding I doubt I will break or wear them out like a motocrosser who would put them thru extreme service.
  7. What other options is there if you want to run a heel gaurd with nerfbars? I was looking at the new A/Cs but I waiting to see them in person. I'm not to impressed now. I would probably go with a set of nerfs if i could still use my stock heel gaurds with the plastic too. Is there any nerfs that would work?
  8. If your pipes aren't turning blue by the cylinders then you aren't getting all the power out of your bike. Turning blue is normal where the heat is produced.
  9. Yes that should work. Everyone has their favorite.
  10. With the O-ring
  11. Yes it is true. You just use a high temp silicone sealer and slide the pipe on the cylinder. I prefer the black high temp, it isn't as noticable. I have 1992 paul turners. The newer Paul Turners now have a groove for a stock oring but I still would use high temp silicone with those to.
  12. I'm going to try the -2 I have a lonestar round carrier and I'm building a -2 swingarm for it. Everyone here on the west coast frowns on it for the dunes but I'll find out for myself. Longer is the wrong way to go for my style of dune riding.
  13. My advice would be to try just the stocker then borrow a +4 if you can find access to one and try it. You will probably notice drawbacks to a +4 in the trails. You can always let out of the throttle or ride the handlebars with a stock swingarm.
  14. I would have added look cool like a moto-x-er to my opinion but someone might take offense. As far as traction goes I meant side load. I don't see anyone pulling beads off at the dunes.
  15. Sounds like its running out of fuel and getting lean. The pilot air screw is 2 turns out stock.
  16. There is a little rubber mount like the one that comes stock for the pipes but a third the size. It goes from the the frame to the silencer mount.
  17. I'd check the bearing suppliers if they need replacement.
  18. Theres little traction to pull a bead off. It would be a waste of money.
  19. Fools jump dunes without. I was a fool twice, at least I didn't break anything but I got a foot peg up the shin while a paddle beat my heel. I run stock protection but I'm working on getting those new A/C nerfs. I don't like the look of nerfs but I like air.
  20. you'll get more performance without or modifying the lid but you'll have less aircleaner maintenence if you leave the lid alone. I like having a full lid to put on when I wash my bike.
  21. I'm running paul turner mids with no lid and K+N at 0 elevation and 60 to 70 degrees, everything else stock. The main is 280, 25 pilot, and stock needle #4 position ( 4th position from blunt end). I might be able to drop a main but I keep it where its at to be on the safe side.
  22. Putting the clip towards the point is richer, putting the clip towards the blunt end is leaner.
  23. Run 'em. Looks like you need some traction anyway. It's rider preferance.
  24. Wait a minute, don't quote what you said. I was wondering if your rims were bent or just grey
  25. You might check around first but some of the cycle shops in my town will gouge you. I take mine to a regular tire shop, for $6 they will dismount two tires and I mount them later myself. You might try it yourself, sand tires on douglas rims are a little easier I think. The bump on the rim that holds the bead is a little smaller. Why are you replacing what you have now?
