  1. Happy b'day man! I say we all chip in and buy Stan his first package of Depends.
  2. Damnnnn that search function kicks ass!!! CLICK HERE NUMBNUTS
  3. I'd reconsider doing engine mods before suspension. Stock banshees are a rough ride, especially in chopped up sand. If it were me I'd go w/ pipes and filters, and maybe a timing plate, which really wakes the bike up, then hold off on further engine mods until you have better suspension. Once you hit about 50-60 HP you'll need a longer swingarm and re-valved rear shock anyway, so might as well give your body a break and do it sooner. Alot of folks are suggesting drag pipes, which work great for dragging and making the most HP, but they're not really all that friendly for general duning. I think you had the right idea from the start w/ T5's. Good all-around pipes that are easy to ride with.
  4. Crank - should go longrod at the same time to increase reliability (wiseco h129 is a good example) spacer plate - okay -or- stroker domes or cut stock head - better 4mm specific porting pistons - 795 series if you went w/ the longrod carbs - cuz the stock ones will be too small intakes - to fit the new carbs filters or airbox adapter reeds - so you aren't starving the engine w/ stock reeds engine seals, gaskets, yamabond 4, etc pipes - if you don't already have em Basically about $2000-$2500 for everything
  5. Sounds like a stator issue then. Lights and ignition are on 2 seperate circuits so the only place they even interact is at the pickup coil.
  6. get a clymers first thing. Pull apart your carbs and clean em. Let us know what jets are in there and we can probably help you get it purring. Oh and forget that strap on turd boost bottle
  7. 9x outta 10 sudden stalls and loss of spark are caused by a loose wire. Get a wire brush and go through every connection pulling em apart, giving em a couple passes w/ the wire brush, and then put em back together. If that doesn't do it, try to find another banshee owner that'll let you swap out parts until you find the culprit.
  8. I smoked a brand new dirt digger in about 6 hours so it can happen. Replaced it and seems to be working fine.
  9. Sand clogs up foamies really fast whereas a K&N/outerwear sheds off most of the big chunks. For dusty conditions though, I'd recommend a foam filter. K&N's are lousy filters when it comes to really fine dust. It all depends on where you ride.
  10. When you say it falls on its face is it the same kinda reaction that happens when it runs outta gas? If so its lean. I dunno man, I don't have any experience w/ a 2:1 pipe but I can't imagine they breathe that bad. Try a 190 main and see what happens.
  11. If you're building a drag bike I'd say go back to duals. Anything else and you should keep the single. You won't lose as much top end as you would with the more common 35mm singles, but you will lose some.
  12. Couldn't tell ya for certain since you left out most of the key information. I'm not even sure what your mods are except that you have a single carb and something other than pro circuit pipes. But I'm running 200/62 on my single 35pwk for my stroker at sea level and 60-ish degrees. My mods are in my signature.
  13. That's somewhat common w/ boost bottles. It doesn't do shit for you cept aid in air leaks so go back to the stock crossover.
  14. Any change to the swingarm length is going to affect wheelies.
  15. Start out around a 195-200 main and a 65-68 pilot. My guess is you'll end up somewhere around 190/62.
  16. Oh sweet! Been awhile since we had one of these 15 year old call-outs! Okay so Purple, um you're gay dude. What makes you think anyone cares how fast you are or how hard you are cuz you like to outrun the cops? 99% of the people on this site are just gonna think your a retard, and one more person helping to ensure a future ban of atv's. My advice? Grow the fuck up.
  17. I had an old Yamaha Moto 4 as a kid and while riding it across a stream I hit a really deep section. Engine died immediately so I got off. As I did so the fucker bobbed up to the surface (right side up) and started floating away downstream. So ya at least some quads will float. Dunno bout all of em.
  18. Realistically you almost never have a use for a parking brake. They're a hassle to maintain and its just easier to alter where and how you park your bike than constantly dicking with the adjustments. Depending on the terrain, usually all thats required to prevent unexpected rolling is to turn the bars or at most, drag the back end a couple feet to keep her from pointing straight downhill.
  19. Holy crap!!! Could we just condense all these Bush threads into one?
  20. Hit the nail on the head
  21. Switch spark plug wires to see if the problem switches sides. If it doesn't I'd check the reeds to make sure they're still all together like they should be.
  22. I'm making enough HP on my single carbed engine to warrant needing a longer swingarm. I'm hoping to get away with only a +2 since the longer you go, the worse the handling is. If I were to go back to duals, I'd prolly never get away w/ a +2 and would need a +4. I'm a duner. I don't drag race and when I do I really don't give a shit who wins. So in my case, having a single is the better way to go - getting to be lazy is just a bonus. Hard to jet? No, dual carbs arent hard to jet, but I can do my jetting changes in under 1 minute, including tool roundup - can you do that w/ your duals? We have some extreme temp changes here in SoCal so I have to rejet for daytime temps in the mid-morning, then for nighttime temps in the evening. So if it only takes me a minute and I don't have to expose my intake that's a plus. In addition, I never have to sync, any single cylinder firing problems are definately not a carb issue (big plus!), my engine bay is cleaner and easier to work on, I never melt outerwears on pipes, my throttle response is second to none, I have low-end power, my throttle pull is lighter, etc, etc...
  23. I prefer this one since it has a lid: LINKY LINKY
  24. 65mph in California. That's the speed limit.
  25. Um okay. But believe it or not, there's some riders out there that aren't looking for every HP available. Losing 8hp sounds like quite a bit so I imagine he was running a single 33, but maybe it was a 35. Anyway man, my point is that some guys would rather have a setup that was easier to work on, tune, and ride at the cost of even 8HP.
