lots of differnt sellers are selling these shocks some are around 80 bucks for a pair.. they are chinese knockoffs from chinese 250cc atv's. not sure on quality.. now rember the reason they are so cheap is the materials and the labor to build them is very low cost ( mostly due to labor) good ole america the people demand a decent wage where in china and other shit countrys ( where all our manufactures went) the labor is next to nothing. america has turned into a "consumer" country instead of an industrial or producing country. and they wonder why the "economy" is so bad bulllshit

if your going to race an all stock j-arm banshee, in MX, and think your competitive, your nuts.. in my OPINION the stock shocks are what sucked the most on banshee's ( and a few other bikes for that matter)

i have some pics.. BUT they are TOO BIG to post

what the HELL happened to this post?? all i have to say is i WISH JSR would give props to WHO actually did the injection among a LOT of the things JSR does.. i BET that JSR had some influence on the article as to what it said. if they make the add and the owner sells the bike thats what it was for. to MAKE MONEY> kevin GIGOT deserves a LOT more respect, and CREDIT for what he does.. the OUTLAW chassis is an amazing piece of ART in my opinion and what it does it let you make USE of all the power one of these bikes can produce with the 421cc 85hp 55ft lbs tq motor in mine i can nearly kill myself all the time in the woods, BUT the chassis saves me more often than not... i now own the sister bike to this one in the mag add. it dosent have injection and i dont plan on it at all. with carbs its comes on SO strong i dont think it needs any more. 400ex sucks thats all i have to say about that.. compared to the 400ex kawasukidvx it just BLOWS> a banshee motor in a yfz frame is an excellent IDEAR! only thing a 400ex has on a banshee is it sure is easy to adjust the chain.. HAHAHa sorry had to. -
when i was racing a banshee in mx ( back when they were actually competitive) it was a j-arm model with +3 dentons NEVER had a problem with the frame OR the a-arms. my first dune/ drag bike IS a j-arm model with denton arms also. NEVER had a problem with it either.. i dont know where the saying j-arms are weak came from..

these cylinders are absolutely brand new. i really doubt there is more than a few even together... the concept is NOT. if you want to have a FUN riding bike that makes very high HP for what you have put in cash wise the serval is for you if your building a "drag bike" and dont want to spend a lot of $$$ the cub is the choice for the best bang for the buck.. at least thats how i see it. these cylinders have oppend up a new option that was missing and now is becoming harder to explain the difference's in them to people who might buy them. i usually just ask a few questions.. how much do you want to spend how are you going to ride the bike where are you going to ride it how much do you want to spend? these q's in my mind answer'd honestley will dictate what i recomend..

cheetas use 250r reeds and started at 68mm originally and can go up to 75mm if i'm right. most are at the 73mm bore.. the cheeta's also use its own head that uses a std even spread stud spacing and is much better at holding the head on. they are also the only CP cylinders to use powervalves.. i also believe they were from 4 mill up to 16 or 18 mill crank and in triple form also... they were the first cylinder designed by CP industies and are a very cool top end.

guess as to what causes it? i'm not sure might have one sent to a metalurgist and see how good of quality the steel is its built out of? maybe its just a piece of shit?
-
i have a TDR 10 mill long rod crank in mine its been going strong for 5+years now. i mostly use the HOT RODS cranks for the 4 mills i have built.

i do the trans mod also. i called it a MX trans back in the day works well. all you will need is a shift star mod and the dogs cut, all the other stuff is gimick.

yep it did remind me of the days back when there was more smoke than thunder and you had to actually TRY to ride cause the guy next to you was racing as hard/ fast as you were. was a great trip. saturday was one for the books as far as i'm concerned.. dana you should tell bubba he needs to build another "caddillac motor" he'll know what i'm talking about. just a good ole 4 mill stock cylinder and throw it in that chassis. i'd love to see him just out for a good time and forget its not about who's the best. ( plus them alky motors you can make more than 2 passes before its too HOT!) -

spurd knows it needs a clutch. i'm sure next ride out it will have a clutch that wont slip. ( TOLD YA!!) i know all ABOUT cylinder studs breaking off. thats what was wrong with the 535 this last time. i have blown the cylinder nearly completely off the lower end 3 seperate times. i had to make my own grade 10 ( grade 8 american) hardened studs to hold the cylinder on it worked well so next time out i will try out a more agressive tire and load it more on the launch. then i'll throw ole newt on it and see what happens!! oh an yes its still the same ole pistons because i cant afford to buy some new ones with the other projects i have going. the ole 480 is a beast for sure. it suprises me every time out. -

YIKES are you drunk again!! -
you need to run antifreeze at ALL times. running straight water will promote OVERHEATING and boiling over. antifreeze does a few things its helps from freezing, AND helps raise the boiling point of water... all antifreeze is alluminum safe you dont need some special banshee only coolant. its just a simple cooling system all it has is a few hoses a cheap water pump and a radaitor. your car has a much more complicated system in it.. the amount of mix is wat can determine the freezing point, it should say right on the bottle. if you buy straight coolant you should ONLY use distilled water of course if you dont know you can get distilled water in the same place you get drinking water like WALMART. the tap water in your house is more dmaging than the cheapest coolant you can use, why you ask oh because of the minerals in the water is what will eat the alluminum.. NOW the green coolant is only really good for about 2 years in a system. SO change it if your bike actualy stays together that long.
