same tdr crank been in my 535 for about 5 years
-
ok heres the simple answer dragracer!! = override!@ everybody else = stock trans mod.
-
you be a needing a 17melemeter wranch to change dat eairl wit
-
TDR cranks are solid. the cheaper WSM ones he's offering i dont know.. ALWAYS RUN TZ bearings you cheap asses!! picks above for sure show why. that crank also looks to wide like the center is not pressed all the way together right,, just had a BRAND NEW wiseco that was that way welds look like total shit sent it to crankworks to be rewelded and pressed and set up corectelly,, the banshee manuals have the measurements for the crank and you can measure them even before you install them.. that pin has NO penetration at all.
-
i have bought a few sets of used arms for 200-250 why screw with crap just get the right shit the first time.. NOW i have been thinking of a fully modded stock chassis with big degree offset in the frame front end and maybe use 09 yfz front end...

leak down results..... ANY IDEAS FOLKS?
camatv replied to thrill-billy85's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
chrome slides or alluminum slides?? if they are alluminum slide non plated the slide can wear out very quickly and they will not shut all they way if its NOT an air leak and it idled fine with stockers then the NEW carbs you put on is the problem.. check the slides -
cpi's or shear, 36/38 lectrons, vforce reeds, intake porting, case porting better crank nice clutch dyna ignition and about 180-210 comp should be nice motor..
-
hell as far as i know thats what they used to build it
-
power pro, also sold as other brands also. good pipe! why you wanting to sell them? kinda of a power like cpi with a lil more grunt.. how i was described how they feel.. i wanted to try a set..
-
they wont be really hard to spot not like the ole real stock cylinder 70mm bore 10 mill stroker.. i always wonder'd how those "350's" pulled out of the hole so hard was neat to find out those lil motors were 500's when they came up for sale.. 10 mill wompus ohh.. sounds fun?. you guys know what a 520cc 10 mill makes the 10 mill/ 72mm should be nearly the same. just another "option" stock stroke 65mm serval??!! now THAT sounds like a FUN 350 set up!! i'm really excited for the serval!!
-
ok now i guess i am missing somehting here. : there is a wompus? CUB port timings with the stockish looking outside... ( 198* exhaust 130* trans 421 68mm?) there is a serval stockish port timings with triple exhaust and triple transfers but stock looking outsides? ( 187* exhaust and like 123* trans?) the good ole CUB which is well known.. SUPER CUB ( ok then) why would you want a serval with PV's?? its called a cheeta.. my pv cheeta has like a 190exhaust with the valves shut? ( and yes it makes tremendious bottom end) why not just build a cub if you want a cheap drag cylinder.. and a serval for the rest of us ( great idear) i dont drag race int he "south street scene" and i guess i didnt know they really really really needed a cheater cylinder i can spot a serval, wompus from the outside compared to stock.... WHOO i need to do some reading i guess. then there are still the other billet cylinders available also! i believe twister has a mini twister with PV's?

does that one require a clear coat? frames are OK that color is best used as a nice shinny base coat for trans colors OR with a COOL flake clear on top..
-
wow come to think of it there are a LOT of cranks brands available now.. here is a list i know of: wiseco (chinese built?) HOT RODS ( taiwan built good steel) the M+M, BOSS, or mystery crank ( ebay, cheap!?? can't get any real info on them like where they are actually built???) VIto's ( quality??) WSM ( quality?) RDZ (claims to be "building these cranks themselves??) TDR ( good quality if its an actual DUKAS crank) TWISTER ( cost? quality in the past?) crankworks ( stock modded web's ? not sure if they even do this anymore) i am curious mostly about the RDZ offering, and the WSM, and "mystery crank" not sure if there are others?
-
i'd love to do a 10 mill serval.
-
which "cranks from m+m are you talking about? does andy have a few differnt ones. the last one from his "kit" is the relatively unknown but being highly pushed crank from that dude in california... the bike hasnt had a problem YET but its hardly ever rode.. id post a picture of it if i knew how. the rod has a thick spot in the middle of the rod. the crank looked fine. but its hard to tell a "good one" in a few hours of run time. ah how about an ebay link? this crank : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-BOSS-RACING-4MM-STROKER-CRANK-LONG-ROD-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem483d68aa1bQQitemZ310267914779QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories i have heard a lot of bad things from vito's blowing apart, AND that the vito's stays together with no issue's i have personally had a wiseco crank ( chinese built) have problems right out of the box and were hard to resolve ( no warranty). best cranks in 4 mill i have run were the older hotrods with hot rods brand rods and TZ bearings set up and welded at crankworks. also the TDR 4 mill i would trust also. dont really know about the rest unless a budget is neede to be kept i'd just use the hotrods style crank and have crankworks set it up. they are great crank builders. ( prep) DONT skimp on a crank

i dont know of any downside of this mod besides its NOT and override.. you still need to use the clutch to shift it, IF you are drag racing only i'd say drop the $$$ on an override. and learn to ride it corectelly.. if your over is cut well, and the ramps are not stupid wrong, and the drum is done right and NOT sloppy, ROUGH, AND SHITTY LOOKIN,, and you ride it right it will last a long time. if your a play rider or MX racer or trails or any other type of riding where shifting stupid fast with the clutch OUT is not a must have ( override) than the mod trans is nice. if you have a CUB and it WONT shift under load, OR even a serval would be sweet with this trans set up. i recomend them ANYTIME i have a motor apart for any kind of build. its almost a no brainer for me. i have a local machinest cut mine and i have gears ready to go. i just take the trans, switch the gears out, and install new locks and its ready to go. cut the star and mod the shaft you have a sweet trans,. it is an easy simple mod IF your trans is already out. if you not sure if you want an override then this is the trans mod for you. you can easily convert it to an overide later as all over's have this "cut " done to work corectelly..

hmmm
-
those look like some junk ass autozone plug wires.. i make my own plug wires. the crimper is whats a bitch to find one that works good i use bulk solid core wire ( o'reilleys) and they also have 90Degree ends and i just make them fit just right. those straight long ends are wacko lookin i also use the NGK stockish style resistor plug ends that screw in just like stock. works great.
-
that bearing is an absolute pice of shit to get out i have a blind hole bearing puller but havent tried it on that one yet. last one i did i just destroyed the bearing and replaced it with a new one.. it sucked/.. its much easier to replace with the cases apart
-
umm the plugs are not what caused your motor to blow.. its just blowed up. i'm stoping there.
-
lots of places do i have been doing this for a long time. started it back in the days with the mx bikes needed a trans that would shift but take a backload and survive jumps and etc.
-
stock modded trans is excellent and cheap alternative to override its NOT an override but its not a gimick part they actually work they fix the real problem all those springs and EZshiftomatics are trying to cover up. still use clutch BUT its backload all day just like stock.
-
mine is not a wsm these welds are complete around the pin i even specd it with a tz before it was an option on the site.. at the time my only other option was a 1200 dolla crankworks
-
it says those are WSM cranks. i dont know anything about those BUT i have a TDR 10 mill crank in my 535 its the 850 dollar one its been a GREAT crank NEVER had a problem with it at all. used hotrods connecting rods on it.. been going strong through lots of ABUSE for 5 + seasons. i highly recomend that crank.. http://www.bansheedepot.com/proddetail.asp?prod=91%2D5706 i'd be curious to see/ try the wsm?
