  1. go out as long as you can afford.
  2. finally some progress.. got the dual in dual out exhaust silencer done.. and pipe mounts done. hopefully it has that "indy car" sound.. thats what i'm shooting for plus i think if the exhaust is in the stock location its just cooler. here are some pics..
  3. here is a nice lil write up with a lof of pics.. http://www.theultralightplace.com/pistons.htm
  4. ok then,.. you just gotta realize. there is a LOT of stolen shit out there if you need more powa i'd look into some diff pipes and if its not done already get it ported.. if it is a 350cc there is some more powa to be fouond in there..
  5. ok i thought i'd throw this thread up and maybe we could have a lil discussion about detonation. its effects, its results, and what it looks like, soundls like, feels like. if you have pics of deto'd pistons and other carnage PLEASE post pictures and if the crank let go or the piston broke or any other issues you found. what the fix may have been and if possible engine set up.. i have a bunch of pics i'll get ready and throw them up..
  6. i listen to the motor and listen to my ass. my butt/ ears are the best tuning instrument in the world
  7. if your cooking 1200 degree paint you may be a tad lean. also i have had bare pipes in the past they are not that hard to take care off. scotch brite pad and some rust preventer like wd-40 or that white/ yellow can of stuff works fine. ab out ounce every 6 months i would remove the pipe completely and scotch the whole thing. hot months in the summer snow on the ground in the winter..
  8. NOPE!@
  9. hey hey hey i GOT it.. sheesh!! dems peia:PIES are da shizznixxlye my sheez talking arm pmmpin freaknasty!
  10. this bike looks like its worth every bit of 3k..
  11. try using BBQ paint..
  12. can you PLEASE stop calling peeps dear.. so you have a cool head with the domes cut up that much?
  13. ha ha nobodys done it.. there are a few rolling around... if i had a serval i can guarantee it wouldnt be out the box timings.. my 10 is 200/ 130 BUT i use the powervalves too. so when they are closed its somewhere less..
  14. ... the rod pins can also be pressed in before the center is done and after they are pressed and center'd they should be welded on a crank like this.. of course stock cranks the pins are part of the webs and can not be replaced, thats what makes an OEM crank not completely rebuildable.. also the center main pin should be welded as they will seperate at that point also. then the outers can be welded to help seperation also. even welding just the outer pins wont make this crank not come apart.. rember where ever the weakest point is is where you will have a problem. i have had a few come through that had seperated all over the place and had just the outers welded.. kinda sucks to tell someone that their new 450 buck "welded crank has seperated and has to go in for disasembly and re weld.. i'm fixing a stock crank this weekend i'll snap a few pics of it after welding and throw them up if anyone wants to see? nice write up. i really dig the fixtures!
  15. its a good thing your clutch basket bushing is now stuck to your trans shaft!!
  16. so you bought a banshee and have no idear what the motor is and the previous owner who knows for sure its got a crank in it didnt even know to tell you its a cub. and i'm guessing that when you looked at the add or went to look at the bike the seller just said its fast.. he only knows ( or says) its a 375cc possibly.. hmmmm.. most banshee owners know exactilly whats in their motor and use that as a selling point.. does the motor and the frame still have VIN numbers on it. and thats the extra big boost bottle not the normal one..
  17. that sucka has a ton of compression..
  18. here's a thought.. i have a kick start ready 421 cub with well built motor, ported, shear inframes, +4 chrome stellar swingarm and custom painted fullbore front and rear i'd sell for 4500..
  19. i bet the main is a 280.. the book has jetting specs for a completely stock bike not a bike with aftermarket pipes on it. are the fins on the radiator pluged? have you washed them out with a garden hose? also take out the 2 lil plugs on the sides of the juggs and drain all that i bet the cyls may have some bad coolant thats jelled or crudded up from it sitting all that time. you may have to yank the top end off and wash it out really good. if it was only 80lbs of comp it probably wouldnt kick start anymore. after about 90 psi kicking they get really hard to start ..
  20. i wear a helmet i like the way they look with some cool stuff on them i also like that if im in the trails the sticks and tree's dont smack me in the face.. and if ido wreck i wont scratch the hell out myf face/ head and have to pick out rocks or dirt for the next 2 weeks..
  21. easy way to describe deto is. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkcccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkcccccccccccc it will usually do this at full throttle. a Lean hang or lean out on alky deto sounds a lil differnt. usually if your bike wont come right back to idle after a long run its fuel starved at the end it will go burr burrr burr burr buuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  22. hmm not necessairly.. the serval has low timings making differnt timing other than cub all out drag numbers possible.. you can port a serval to run much better than right out the box AND still have grunt.. 128/190, 130/196, 130/192, 128/192, are all possible.. how a pipe will react to that i dont know. the snipers are working excellent with a ported serval. i personally havent rode a r-2 equiped bike or know what the pipes are port time matched too.
  23. i have no idear what the size of tanks is i honestly go in and say i need that one.. if i rember right i think 20 was what i rember. its smaller than the one on my MIG. about the size of the ones that come on those small portable gas torch's
