Fast food!! Gotta give you props for coming up with that bet...I'm gonna have to try that with my wife :woot:

I don't run the coilovers but I do have the competition series on my banshee. I really like the marvins on mine, I haven't had a lot of time on them yet but the little bit that I did ride it she felt great. Becky and Tim have great service, I wouldn't hesitate to call them up and ask them about how the coilovers would do on your ride. Becky was very informative and helpful with me, I'm sure she can answer any questions you have. If I mostly rode sand I'd probably look into the coilovers for my play bike

That's not true...run the 2 into 1 carb, and he's an idiot for telling you pod filters give the same performance as a filter in the box. There's a reason you have to rejet when you switch to pod filters. I didn't have much luck with my 2 into 1 setup, but there are several others that have it and love it. You'll notice a gain from bottom to top w/ the 2 into 1 setup, but would notice more gain by having two bigger carbs over one....

New setup running but clutch problems
bigboybanshee replied to raptorooster's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I agree! You'll like the clutch you got from Jeff, they work great  -
 You sure didn't direct that to any one individual...why wouldn't I think you're talking to all of us that disagree? I'm not going to get into a large argument about this crap, I've voiced my opinion, that's that....there's no point in beating a dead horse....
-
2bzy2p, you're going way overboard here, especially calling us fake? I'm not afraid to voice my opinion at all, that's pretty obvious...and just because we don't agree with what you have to say doesn't mean anything other than we don't fuckin agree with you, so why don't you chill the fuck out. I didn't have anything personal against you until you call me a fake motherfucker, now I don't have any respect for you....If you think we're "fake" because we don't jump on your bandwagon, you've got some other issues you need to focus on rather than worrying about who Dave wants to be dating...

That's what I was thinking... It makes me wonder why someone would be so concerned about what another grown man choses to do in their life, especially when it has no direct impact on anyone

Damnit!! I knew something wasn't right...I'll be sure to purge all the old files before upgrading to crack 5.0

You two are cracking my ass up :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: In regards to the homework, as another basis for argument you could try joining a "neutral" forum that doesn't cater to just one model/brand of quad, and run a poll for which ATV people prefer over others, and list categories like reliability, driveablitly, fun factor, etc. and hope that most pick Yamaha

If you're front end bottoms out on things then go for it, but if you can clear most obstacles like it is, I would leave it be.

need help, doesn't run right
bigboybanshee replied to banshee dave's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Those PJ carbs are strange to me, you adjust the idle by screwing/unscrewing the choke knob. First thing I would do is check to make sure both carbs' chokes are screwed in equally. Even though that adjustment is supposed to only affect idling, if it's out of adjustment it'll make that carb run rich. Check it out -
Never heard of red needles before, got me beat on that one. The needles I ran were stock. I was always told to keep the stock needles in there opposed to the Toomeys...no reason other than preference, I think more people were able to get their bikes running better with the stock ones....but I wouldn't take that as "fact".
-
I ran my needles on the 4th clip from the blunt end w/ T5's, reeds, Noss head, boyeson reeds, +4 timing, K&N in airbox w/ no lid, 290 mains, 27.5 pilots, and that's where it seemed to run best. Every setup is different though. I wouldn't mess with the jetting for the reeds. You'll notice better throttle response more than HP gains with them, but that's just my opinion.

best semi stock mods for the $$$
bigboybanshee replied to shee rips's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I say... Noss head w/21cc domes Boyeson Reeds Timing plate set at +4 Best bang for the buck  -
Very glad to hear you figured it out....I guess you overlooked the choke tube when I asked you about it  I'd move the needle clip to the 4th postion from the blunt end and turn your air screws out to 2 turns and see how it runs. Congrats on fixing the bike, it's always a good feeling to resolve an issue

Looks great!! That'll definitely improve your ET's at the track, wish I had the cash to get me a chassis. Keep the pics coming, look forward to seeing the final product

My boss is the one who originally sold me my banshee...that helps a lot, he usually is sitting here with me checking out the forums/pics, etc. And of course, work does come first, forums come later....

I definitely would like to go, but am going to wait on my friend to heal before I commit to a date. I should know something soon, but a trip in the fall sounds great....I'm getting a cabin this time

Boonman! lightened flywheel
bigboybanshee replied to OnlyA2Stroke's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think you're jumping the gun a bit...it's been slightly over a week since you mailed it TO him...only 6 business days...considering that the mail usually takes 2-3 days, then he has to shave it and send it back, and from what I remember the flywheel lightening is side work from his daily job, you have to consider all of this.... boonman lightened a flywheel for me, did a great job, very honest person. Just be patient! -
What is a good motor setup for cross country?
bigboybanshee replied to 2strokespirit's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I wouldn't mess with a cub. I think a mild ported 4 mil stock cylinder setup would be ideal  -
Yep, 14/41 is stock gearing. The strut makes a noticeable difference on the track, if you want to be competitive in drag racing I feel that rigid is the way to go. I know someone that has a some marvin shaws for sale, PM Big Blue, not BIG_BLUE, there's two of them on here, lol Derek has a whole set for sale, along with some other things. 10mil set up right should easily put you in the low 4's / real high 3's on a stock frame, and on an aftermarket chassis you'd be in the mid to upper 3's. You'd be amazed at how much these aftermarket frames make a difference.
-
I would try running stock gearing and launching in second... You want to try and use all your gears, I bet you were in 3rd or 4th at the finish line with what you were running; that's really tall with those 22" tires. If you plan to strictly drag race this bike, I'd highly recommend looking into putting a strut on the rear, make it rigid, and put some 300ex shocks on the front. They'll lower it down and set the front right where it should be. Suspension has a big role in how quick your times will be. Does your track give you 60' times? If so, what was yours?
-
If you change your gearing you'll get a much better time than what you're running. Were you running the boondockers kit? If so, how much you spraying in each cylinder? What kind of suspension are you running? I ran a consistent 4.8 last year on my stock cylinder bike, stock frame, transmission, 300 lb rider. All I had was a drag port, bigger carbs and out of frame pipes, +8 swingarm

Clutch rod ball weld .... damnit
bigboybanshee replied to dekker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Nope! -
If you're running 22's you'll be perfectly fine for pump gas, I would recommend still trying to get a set of 21's, you'll like the added compression. Jetting will remain the same!
