  1. I'd run them...I agree with swrbansheeboy
  2. If you can get the old tires off, installing the new tires is pretty simple. But, if you can't get them off, any tire shop (good year, firestone, etc.) has the ability to change them for you. It's more a matter of if they're "willing".
  3. Paul Turner mids are a great pipe for trails/track setups. Good low end response, excellent mid range and a little bit more top end than stock. They have a real nice sound too.
  4. Mine is at .039 and running strong!
  5. Let me know if you run across any more problems, I'll always be glad to help where I can
  6. 25 pilot is what comes in it stock...they should be what's in your carbs now. You can also get jets from the dealership, it's usually where I get mine from. A plug chop is what you do to make sure your jetting is correct. You warm the engine up on old plugs, shut it off. Put brand new plugs in it, then rip it WOT through 6th gear, pull in the clutch and immediately kill the engine. Come to a stop, pull those plugs out, put your old plugs back in and take the "test" plugs back to the house and cut away the threads. Behind the threads, if jetted correctly, there should be a nice little 2mm brown ring on the porcelain. If it's lean, the ring will be smaller than 2mm or not there at all. If it's too rich, the ring will be larger than 2mm or very dark in color. Hope that helps.
  7. LOL! I looked online at the manual and it said you need the picture package software and you hook it up to your PC either by i-link or USB. Do you have the software that comes with the camcorder? If not, we can probably find you something to download that's compatible....we'll figure it out  Owners Manual
  8. After seeing how yours saved you I am a firm believer in chest protectors. I could have sworn you broke something from the impact....It held up against a steel guardrail, I imagine it would provide the same protection against a tree. If I ever raced through the woods or on a track I'd definitely get one. There's nothing gay about wearing a chest protector...what would be gay is someone getting hurt pretty bad because they're worried about how they look and not wearing the proper gear. Accidents do happen, even the best take a spill when their time comes...
  9. It's all good! What brand/model camcorder are you using?
  10. I'm not familiar with that kind of camcorder, but I'll just ask what comes to mind.... Is there a setting on the camcorder where you can view the pics you've taken? If so, I would try putting it on that setting and then plug the camcorder into the PC, see if it pops up a window... Do you have a memory card reader for that memory stick? A couple friends of mine have card readers for theirs and they just pull the memory stick out of the camera/camcorder and plug it into the reader, which pops up on the PC. Sorry if I'm not much help, but at least wanted to try
  11. If he's gonna pay the dealer to fix it and is adding that cost to the 1800, start looking elsewhere. They are going to rape him with no lube on labor for that...plus parts. You oughtta tell him to get an estimate from the dealer on how much it'll cost to fix it, then offer him a 1,000 bucks as it sits now. You could do the repairs yourself for probably 3-400 bucks. Just a thought
  12. That bumper is trick as hell, it compliments your ride real well. Looks great!
  13. I would start at a 320 main, 27.5 pilot. My trail bike has a mild port on it, PT mids, stock carbs, 20cc domes, boyeson reeds, K&N pro flow kit w/ no lid, and 320's seem to be the ticket. I'm at 4-500' above sea level.
  14. When you say you switched the leads, are you meaning you switched the orange and black wires on the coil, or do you mean you put the right plug wire on the left cylinder/vise versa?
  15. that crank is probably toast...as well as the cylinders...what a dumbass (not you...him)
  16. Chalk up another one for NYUK, this man should be nominated for salesman of the year. Thanks John!
  17. All the info you need, right here.... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...6ae0bff11eac6a2
  18. I remember! It does seem like bad weather tends to follow me...I'm renting a cabin next time I go  :ninja:
  19. Pinging is definitely a sign of detonation, but like said before, with 21cc domes you should be about 150psi on a fresh top end. I ran 21cc's at the same elevation, similar mods and +4 timing with 93 octane; no problems. Now I run 160psi with +4 timing and am still on pump, no detonation, plugs look good, 400ft above sea level. I would listen closer to the noise, see if it's definitely coming from the cylinders. Could it be a water impellar making that noise? Maybe your kickstarter is wearing out? Just some ideas, could be a loose bolt somewhere for all you know. Always check the simplest things first. I had a weird rattling noise come from my blue bike that had me worried...come to find out I didn't tighten my clutch cover insert down and it was making all kinds of racket, lol
  20. Adjustable timing plate Aftermarket head Lightened flywheel What size tires do you run, and what is your gearing now?
  21. On tuning the carbs, I was told that the idle adjustment is in the choke knob. You screw/unscrew that to adjust how it idles, and if you unscrew them too far they will have an effect on the overall performance of the carb. Just an idea, but check to make sure both of the choke knobs are adjusted the same.
  22. A lightened flywheel would also be a good, inexpensive mod that will help your bike rev quicker
  23. I like to wrap them with that plastic wrap (like saran wrap) then pack a cardboard box with peanuts/old towels/newspaper and then I tape the shit out of the box. The tape will help keep the box intact in case a pipe decides to poke through a little bit. I haven't had any problems using that method, usually costs about 20-30 bucks depending on where you're shipping to.
  24. There are also other factors to consider about getting a cub setup...you'll need to buy a longer swingarm, definitely will want different pipes. It would also be beneficial to run an aftermarket head and reeds too. Given that these parts are interchangable between the stock cylinders and cubs, I think it would be wise to go ahead and get some better pipes, along with a head and bump up the compression before you fork out more money on the cub. You'd probably notice a big difference just by switching pipes. Those things mentioned would need to be purchased anyways if you got a cub, get them now and try it first before getting the cubs....just what I would do...Jeff's dune port when tuned right is right there w/ a 358 cub Also keep in mind that when it's time to rebuild a cub, it's new pistons/rings and NIKASIL, LOL. That's a good 300 bucks for the nikasil job alone, not like your 80 bucks to bore/hone the stockers...something else to consider <edit> lol, by the time I finished typing this cam and Jeff already jumped in and said what I was thinking....damn I'm getting slow
  25. Happy Birthday John!!!!
